Last time I asked about the inability to eat solid food was a couple of months ago if memory serves. He said he was doing well after the move to the UK, but the food situation had not changed. Also he was in desperate need of finding a job and was really struggling on that front.
I hope all is okay.
- The last thing I remember seeing from him was a fight with another user, and a slew of deleted comments talking about suicide. I really hope he's okay
  
  They were hanging around here and posting more in the few weeks following that. I was keeping an eye open for them after seeing that whole... debacle.
  Whatever else might have happened I'm pretty confident that that argument, at least, isn't of concern anymore. I hope.

  I am definitely concerned, I didn't interact with them directly often but I liked seeing the positive updates about their family's move.
  Hopefully everyone is doing well and just have more important, happy things keeping them occupied.

Hoping all is well for him and his family. A major move like that in fairly short time is a lot to handle. I read a post not too long ago that his daughter has more friends and socialization going on in the brief time there than when in the US.

- I have very few memories from the first three months after moving. The stress of moving combined with looking for a job combined with selling our old house just all piled on to everything. Couldn't imagine what it's like with the added burden of children and it being a different country.

  I was like 2010s and from PRC to USA. Had to install so much new firmware on my brain (aka: learn a whole new language). Also, racism 🙃
  Isn't flying squid going to UK? I think that make the process like much easier, no need to learn a new language (other than having a different accent).

Moving countries to provide a better life for your progeny will do that.

I was just thinking about him yesterday. Seems like dude has a lot on his plate right now. I'm sure lemmy isn't near the top of his priorities.

Yeah, I was wondering about him, too. I think it's wild the Lemmy is tight knit enough for stuff like worrying about specific users. Reminds me of the days when forums were the dominant social media of the internet.

Downvote away if you want. But they had became a nuisance in the comment sections. My feed is extremely peaceful and less toxic ever since I can't read their replies.

  Eh, Squid was definitely a bit of a shit stirrer the last couple weeks I saw them post. Pretty sure they caught some bans from a few communities for incivility. Hope everything is going ok for them, but I think taking a break from Lemmy will be a good thing.
  
  Setting healthy boundaries is always perceived as rude by those unaware of the trespassing, yes. I like the quiet, I prefer the quiet.
