  • Yarp. The 2A calls for the right to form a militia. If one tried to do so right now I very much believe they would be labeled a terrorist organization and the executive branch would ignore the courts ruling it was their right. Might even be the U.S. born populous that he's asking El Salvador to open more cells for

  • There really isn't a good option there. Someone with a gun goes to protect these people in the car. Ice calls in back up/police or just guns down the shooter, label a terrorist, double down on their claims these people were in fact threats and get the insurrection act passed on Sunday do to media outlets using fear mongering against people who want the constitution upheld.

A single person or a group of 5 even with guns can't do anything to help singular people against an army. Also the right has pushed for years, "they don't care about you so why should you care about them". Many conservatives have been divided intentionally. Taught to not help anyone but themselves, or maybe their family, but they will choose themselves over family most times.

Those 1-5 people would have more of an effect not fighting the random ice officer on the street but doing other things, most of which require coordination and cooperation without any means of large scale communication.

  • As someone who knows nothing about them I was really hoping OpenHomes was a opensource project to virtually design the home you like using Sims like front end but CAD software backend to ensure structural integrity. Which then you can rent a 3D home printer from a list of non profit companies who help people build affordable housing to drop the printer by and give tips on how to plan ahead for things like plumbing/electrical/network/sewage/insulation needs.

I was 20 meters up a tree reaching the clouds before I started reading the truth

  • "If the motivation was to hurt trans people in general it should be a hate crime just like any other group" were my words. Why was your first question that I thought they weren't considered a group of people?

Laws should be written for people. Punishments for crimes are dictated separately for the most part. They just put max/min fines and incarceration times.

If you get a DUI it doesn't say in the law you get up to twelve months in a women's/men's jail, it just says jail. The particulars of how the incarceration is dealt with is usually decided elsewhere (hopefully by the judge) while gender identity is stillprotected class in the U.S. Will it be for much longer, I'm not sure, I hope it is though.

  • What would they protect for them? Harassment is harassment, and a hate crime is a hate crime. If the motivation was to hurt trans people in general it should be a hate crime just like any other group being singled out out of prejudice

  • The last two I read weren't immigrants, they are born in the U.S. with social security numbers and birth certificates. Well I'm assuming this one has those, being that she's born and is a doctor here. Practicing doctors require background checks

  • I think I read somewhere he cut it to 20k a month, but yeah it's a rediculous amount of money. Just move somewhere no one knows you with $2,500/m mortgage. Pay off a house in 5 years and stay out of the lime light. Take a job doing what you enjoy when the kids in school/daycare or what not if you like. Dumb situation but easy to make it decent.

  • In the U.S. gift tax is exempt on the first $14 million you give. You just have to submit a tax form when you file your taxes. So someone can gift each of their 5 grandchildren a million dollar house, and then give them $1.8 million dollars in cash each before they die. And avoid any gift tax on any of that. Then get taxed an inheritance tax. There is no Federal inheritance tax. Which if you live in a state like Tennessee where I live, the inheritance tax is 0%. So you have now avoided paying any taxes passing down any amount of wealth you potentially have. If you are a billionaire and have an accountant that can't figure out how to bypass paying taxes you or they must be willfully choosing to do so in the U.S.

  • Shouldn't need to exist as women only. Should exist for anyone in a domestic violence situation/rape exams/legal representation etc. Why would it be treated any different. It's either illegal or not. Why help someone more than another just because their gender/sex?

  • A legal woman? Let me ask you a simple question. What law should be made that should be different for men than women? Laws should be able to cut gender/sex completely out and exist or they are inherently sexist.

  • The parents died at 21 apparently. So they graduated school at 17/18, entered the work force, entered a war and had a kid by 21. That's not ridiculously young. Most of the reasons many people don't have kids at 21 these days are tied to things they can obtain easily. Food scarcity, housing, and job hunting don't seem like much of an issue. The mother can transfigure a flower into a "fish" and the father was also gifted in magic. They could build a house over the weekend with their family money.

Snape being the same age should have put him at 32 when the first book started. Rickman was about 20 years older than that.

  • Not to mention an "official act" likely can't be defined as intentionally ignoring the supreme courts ruling. Not only can Congress file impeachment and the Senate remove him, I don't see how they couldn't charge him with treason for doing so. Will they, no. But it should be fully within the parameters of what the supreme Court ruled

  • To do so for the first time in the US. Goes on to explain how the factories are already up and running producing units.

I also know there are other partners not listed in the article producing Nvidia based servers used for AI for Google, Meta, and others.

Source: I diagnose errors/issues for the assembled server racks and confirm they can pass stress tests and such. They are built on an assembly line in the same factory.

If it is common knowledge that shutting a garage door with a running ICE vehicle inside will kill you, why do you think so many people think 1 billion ICE vehicles aren't bad in the atmosphere?

    "But tires"

Ban all vehicles over 5000lbs to start without a specialized license and extremely heavy fees to have them. EVs are dropping in weight daily, ICE vehicles have been increasing in weight to dodge policies. One is a means to an end, the other is a means to profit.

Profit for few vs humanity's existance.. which should we choose?

How much water do you use in the average month?

Water Usage - My power/water company popped up showing my water usage from December 2023 vs 2024, it claims I used 24 gallons last year and 13 gallons this December. That can't be right... how much water do you use each month?

I fill water for chickens outside, water two small garden plots, obviously dishes, showers, toilet, bidet, and the washer machine should be using a lot more than that...

FDA Rewrites Rules of 'Healthy' Foods For First Time in 30 Years, do you think this will be beneficial for the populace?

The article seems to be shittily written in my opinion but I figure if you watch the video (about a minute) it will get the point across.

My question lies in, do you think this will benefit the health of the people moving forward, or do you fear it being weaponized to endorse or threaten companies to comply with the mention of Kennedy being tied to its future as mentioned in the end of the article

Does this burning at 200 j/g really mean it would be a lot safer or do you chalk this up to be company propaganda. Clearly it is a lot lower than gasoline, but since 600-900 proved to still be an issue, could this be enough to stabilize people's fears you think?

New 'doped' solid-state batteries can charge to 80 per cent in just nine minutes

I recently read through this and was just curious what others thought the pitfalls or unforseen issues might be with quickly or steadily transitioning to such in a fairly environmentally friendly manner.

Hate the title name, but I think I have to use the article title as the title.

    App Server for phone apps

60 million apps keep getting pushed on us, and everyone wants their own... Every restaurant, gorcery store, etc.

Would it not be feasible to install all of those Kroger, Gas Stations, bloat, bloat, bloat apps on an app Server that we just have a remote access to them like a thin client from our phone in a singular app of shortcuts (look like a folder, directory) So all the apps stay installed and don't use resources on the phone. Which keeps storage requirements down on the local device and means when you go into another device you can just log in and have access to all the apps already signed in and how you left them.

Does anyone know if there is already such a setup?

It wouldn't work well with things like streaming services, but it could still cover a lot of day to day apps I don't really want to have to have on my device.
