  • I am officially diagnosed with ADHD combined type! After waiting so long for my appointment and feeling so anxious that I was somehow wrong about it, it's a huge relief. I get to try medication and looking forward to the bonus weightloss that comes from it lol

    • hugs and good luck

    • bonus weightloss that comes from it

I'm on day 3 of starting my meds and I feel like the loss of appetite is real. Like, I used to forget to eat at regular times because of the ADHD, now I'm not eating that much because of the ADHD meds. I could barely finish half of my dinner last night and as of 1pm today I've had half a banana.

      • Oh damn, it really is hitting you hard. For me it hasn't been too bad overall, my appetite seemed to not be too impacted, but I'm wondering if it's the low dose I've started on.

  • Ran 10km this afternoon. I think I've earned a Ferrero Rocher.

    • lol Perth Water. I want to meet the public servant who named that!

      • That was probably John Septimus Roe nearly 200 years ago. He's kind of a big deal in Perth history. Major highway named after him, High school etc.

He is Perth's equivalent of John Batman, but revered more like John Monash. It's all Johns for days.

  • I sometimes see posts on social media that have such poor grammar & spelling that I can't even figure out what the person is trying to say. Then someone else will relpy as if it is perfectly understandable and I'm just staring at it wondering how on earth they managed to work it out. Is it the same superpower as understanding toddler speak, or a complete skill set on its own.

One of the more recent ones I saw a woman was talking about going shopping, and had something along the line of "git husband fine I have ordered more" and someone managed to translate that to wanting to know if she could return some items for a refund because her husband received a fine. I was just trying to figure out why she was calling her husband a git if he was fine with her shopping spree!

    • I see this on Reddit often. It’s either intentional for engagement purposes, autocorrect shenanigans, or a bot post.

  • Sitting in the bank. First, Thong Song played over their speakers then immediately after Sweat by Inner Circle. CommBank has their Frisky Friday playlist on.

  • I hate how long it takes to download games. Decided to download Skyrim, it took an hour or so which I thought wasn't too bad - then it had to download a whole lot of other stuff, and has taken all afternoon. It's currently downloading wild horses. Meanwhile I'm downloading various mods on my tablet while I wait - I haven't even started playing but I'm ready to mod the game until it is unrecognisable 🤣

Edit: Apparently wild horses was what we were waiting for - it's ready to play!

    • If its your first time, I recommend avoiding mods initially. Once you start down that path, forever will it dominate your destiny.

  • Got tix for the new Scorsese film. 😌

    • I just went to have a look at tickets.. 206 minutes??? How long will the directors cut be???

I love going to the movies but I'm not going to go and sit for 3 and a half hours. I'll watch that one at home.

      • I did The Batman that's almost 3hrs, but I was also in Gold Class (or maybe it was Hoyts Lux), that wasn't too bad. Though when I watched The Eternals that was 2hrs and 38mins that was in regular cinemas though and man I hated it.

But I was also dealing with my back injury at the time so sitting is very uncomfortable.

      • Ok ?

    • I’m interested in seeing that one … do report back

  • I rarely go down the beach, but going in the water to cool down and then lying down is just heavenly.

  • It is a proper warm evening, very summer like. My house is still 23 degrees. Have opened windows to see what that will do. Drinking a bevvy outside in shorts, not cold, feels nice.

  • Almost all of my goals for the day have been accomplished...still can't C walk but getting there.

  • Getting a bit toasty out there in the sun.

I've given all the new seedlings a good watering and given them some temporary shade with bamboo leaves and a few other odds and ends so they don't burn to a crisp. I even managed to move a few barrows full of soil and put out some more hard rubbish.

  • So my plan was to give the electric piano/keyboard whatever you call it which has been collecting dust in my apartment to my niece for her birthday. I just dusted it off and plugged it in to make sure it's all good but it's a serious bit of kit which I bought for myself for like $500 back in like 2018 I think. It might be a bit too much equipment for a 4 year old. Now I'm thinking I should just go and buy her a more kid-appropriate one like this one and hold on to this one for now. If I still have it when she's a bit older maybe she can have it then.

    • I think the smaller one might be the right call for a four year old. We started on real piano sizes at six, and even then the tiny fingers couldn't really reach the keys.

      • Thanks for the reply, I went out and bought the little one this afternoon and I hadn't even considered her tiny fingers!

  • Nearly finished getting the apartment ready for the Young Seagoons stay. Can do the rest tomorrow. 😴

  • I have got the process for an excellent iced coffee nailed. Double shot using these Aldi Lazzio Medium beans, stir through a teaspoon of sugar into the espresso, pour over ice in a cold glass and then pour milk over ice and stir. Simple and delicious.

    • Definitely a good thing to be making in this weather.

I do a Vietnamese style, with condensed milk. Looks really good in the double-walled glass mugs, with a layer of milk at the bottom and coffee on top. Makes a quite sweet drink though.

      • Hmmm.. I tried one once but it wasn't for me, but that was very early in my coffee drinking career so I should probably give it another whirl because they SOUND amazing. It'd need to be a "sometimes drink" though, being so sweet. I also have a childhood-fondness of condensed milk from memories of mum making rice pudding, so I need to make sure I don't overdo it with that stuff.

  • Last night I made a playlist for Paul McCartney's Adelaide setlist for tomorrow night, because I know maybe the 1 or 2 Wings song and some from his Egypt Station album, but that's it. I know more Beatles songs.

I'm devo that he might not play Yellow Submarine. It's my fave Beatles song (and something I want tattooed because it's more of a tattoo for my Nana who introduced me to the Beatles through it), but he did play Let It Be which is my second favourite one so not bad.

  • Need sleep.....zzzz

I'm actually getting back to sleeping ok, I just need to sleep earlier or in the case of weekends, sleep in more.

Can't wait to be more rested than I have been of late.

    Also coffee!!!!!

  • Anyone had eScript issues before? My doctors receptionist seems to think I'm full of it when I say I'm not recieving them. I usually grab a paper script to avoid silly issues like this, but for the last couple of times I've relented, this is my 4th script and it appears my fears have been realised.

    • Yes, although in my case the eScript text arrived and then the prescription un-validated itself after 5 minutes so when I got to the chemist I was left hanging. Check if your local chemist will do Active Script List, that saved my arse when I reset my phone and lost the SMS with the prescription link and my psych was on extended leave. If you consent for them to have your details they'll be able to look up all previous and current eScripts and dispense any current ones even if you don't have the link/QR code
