Tut tut… no second breakfast dinner
Soxcat! Baby girl!
I’ve hurt my shoulder again -_-
Edit: Cleaning spots on carpet (windows and wooden doors open to air out the scent) and Melbcat cheerfully walked through the wet cleaning product. She got upset when I wiped her feet.
She’s now stalking the magpies through the wire screens.
Yeah. I think there’s just so little space, energy, and a-hole neighbours plants intrude to smother/suck up all the moisture and nutrients.
Also I can’t let Melbcat out to kill or repel the rats
Today I was meant to do tidying but I’m in a real funk and can’t get moving :(
Edit: A couple of ripe jack be little pumpkins (and one almost ripe) have withered off the vine. Leaving the few others to finish up but I have to say the harvest isn’t very impressive. Also every golden nugget pumpkin plant got completely eaten.
All good!
I’m so sorry. Nothing I can say seems adequate
Ah I was gonna recommend corny old horrors
Yeah that was the other book I read… the way he just kept on going when (spoiler)
This was a desperate clawing to get out from under it lol
Is there any sort you particularly like?
Ughh… I’ve spent most of my energy shredding papers instead of tidying for the inspection. Doing that while tired is going to suck. I did find some important paperwork and sort out that bill though.
I just want to get my shit back together
Have you read The Harp In The South/Poor Man’s Orange?
Never Let Me Go is a gut punch. I think I’ve read a few of his that really hurt
I recently read The Revenant and The Particular Sadness Of Lemon Cake. Both were op shop finds.
The first is about a man left for dead after being attacked by a bear and his subsequent survival/quest for revenge. The second is about a girl who can taste emotions in food. Bit of a weird ending.
I still have part of the Memory Sorrow and Thorn trilogy to finish as so much was going on for so long that I got too tired to read.
Can you divide Bill’s meal in two (if they eat at different times) and give him the second half while Ted eats? Or feed them at the same time?
A slow feeder or treat tower might also make Bill work for his food and stay occupied with his own meal longer instead of gulping it and going after Ted’s.
Or maybe if they aren’t already on low calorie or grain free food that’s an option.
Mashed pumpkin or hot water mixed into wet food is also a way to make them feel fuller.
More exercise for them might also help instead of reducing food intake so heavily.
It’s really hard. Breaks your heart to do it
Alrighty then. The phone calls and appointments have been made 🐸(Except for accessing a patient portal to do something - I’ll do it when I can figure out which hospital and what I’m trying to do again.)
Then I started on the paper clutter and it’s lucky I did… Opened some bills to shred and saw a large outstanding balance. Rang the water company and they’d stopped taking direct debits! That’s paid now.
Queenly look
Like Nefertiti
I slept through my alarms again. Permatired.
Cancelled a dental appointment I no longer need to avoid being charged. Now I have to ring and sort out a time for this inspection. And make a vet appointment for Solensia and vitamin b.
Melbcat just cried so I gave her extra pain meds. As soon as she gets drowsy I might see if it’s possible to wipe some oral gel onto her back teeth/gums and clip her nails.
Then back to the dishes and laundry. Also there’s tidying and sweeping.
My stomach hurts and I just want to go back to bed.

An advocacy service over the phone for people living with opioid dependence.
Things are really bad in my area and Victoria is the only Australian state that still charges for methadone. There’s not much I can do individually but share resources and hope it helps someone.

Edit: The rules are changing for permanent residents - see article.
Temporary residents are allowed to keep using their overseas license.

Edit: Sorry, I was unclear on the message of the article and accidentally posted a misleading headline.
TL;DR: There are changes for permanent residents but temporary residents can keep using their overseas licenses.

The leaves are falling... What are your plans over Autumn?
Four bed crop rotation | Sustainable Gardening Australia
Trying to get my head around crop rotation.
It’s not traditionally used for pots I don’t think but I just can’t face the physical job of emptying and sterilising all the soil and pots or buying more potting mix after the tomatoes and zucchini are spent. (They got hit by black spot and powdery mildew despite the spraying.)
I’m willing to pull out and dispose of the spent diseased plants afterwards and maybe dig in some manure but am trying to avoid the physical labour of emptying the pots and thought of treating them more like a garden bed.
Maybe I’ll try just chucking a different fungal resistant plant in there afterwards. Perhaps it might be ok if I choose resistant hybrids. Beans and peas are recommended after tomatoes and zucchini to restore nitrogen but also get fungal diseases so I don’t know.
I could just be lazy and do a manure crop over autumn or winter.

I ended up learning how to do this and it worked well. Definitely practice first somewhere like a patch of your leg, upper lip, big toe, anywhere it doesn’t really matter about precision.
It’s much quicker than tweezing and can take off more than you intend so go slowly with short strokes and be very careful around arches. (I did my upper arches and between my eyebrows but left the bottom arches for when I get more confident.)
Do not do this for the first time before an important event!
I didn’t use any lotion but it still worked.
If your skin is sensitive it can get red bumps in the follicles afterwards. Keep everything as clean as possible during and after and perhaps use some Savlon.

Here's a simple, step-by-step guide to creating your own homemade compost bin using items you probably already have around the house!
I’m going to try doing this.
Transparency, it could cost more than 10 dollarydoos. I wanted something with UV resistant plastic to not crumble so I ordered a 60L outdoor bin ($15) and its lid ($6-ish) from Bunnings plus delivery.
You also need to have, buy or borrow a drill of some kind. And buy or have soil
