Drag rides dragons and also "rides" dragons. drag/dragself person-independent pronouns. That means drag's pronouns are the same in first, second, and third person.

  • Lemmy... Isn't a great place for trans people. Drag had to take a step back.

Drag was being harassed by someone who had a problem with the way drag talked someone down from suicide. Ada promised to help, but didn't. Drag didn't know, and thought the harasser was lying. When drag showed a screenshot of Ada saying she'd stop the harassment, Ada took offence. She thought she was being called a liar. Drag had no idea she broke her promise, drag thought it was all the harasser's fault. Drag got banned from Blahaj.

  • Deus Ex is a horror universe. Example:

You work as produce loader. One day, your coworker comes in with a fancy new set of robot arms. He can lift three times as much as you can and work twice as fast. Your hours start getting cut back, boss doesn't need you anymore. You lose your job. You apply for a new one, but it's the same story everywhere: companies want cyborgs. So you spend the last of your savings on a set of bionic arms. They work great, and you land a new job. It's enough to pay for the anti rejection meds and your living expenses. Two years later, a new model comes out. Efficiency improves even more. Your services aren't needed anymore, and you can't afford an upgrade.

You're homeless now, and you can't afford the rejection meds. So you sit on the side of the street with a cardboard sign and an empty hat, waiting for your arms to rot off your body as your immune tears the connection apart.

Drag wouldn't buy prosthetics from a company that associates themselves with that image.

  • Studies show self esteem is more impacted by the values a person grew up with than their own values. That means most of the time, developing or changing your own values doesn't increase self esteem. You need to be respected in a way that makes sense in the culture you grew up with. Some people can overcome their birth culture, but not many.

  • Drag's never said "you" is a slur, drag doesn't even require that people use drag's preferred pronouns.

People just get embarrassed to be misgendering drag on their own and get upset with drag about it.

    Tonkatsu sauce

If you go to an asian grocery you might be able to find a bottle of tonkatsu sauce. It's the stuff they put on pork katsu and chicken katsu at Japanese restaurants. Put it on some vegan chicken tenders from the grocery, and you've got homemade vegan chicken katsu that tastes just like the stuff they serve at restaurants. Rice optional.

Arch is the most newbie friendly distro, apparently

I started with mint more than 10 years ago because a friend of mine told me it was one, if not the best, distro for newbies (that was a fucking lie). Idk how mint is doing today but back then was kind of a mess and dealing with it wasnt easy, so i dont really know how or why i switched to debian for a while. With debian i had a lot of problems with some software, mostly proprietary drivers for esotic hardware i was running back then due to me buying the cheapest laptops available, so i started distro hopping for a while. Every distro but fedora was debian based so it felt a lot like a more of the same experience and I felt stuck in a loop where i was eventually gonna reinstall my whole system after breaking something i didnt even know existed.

Then one day i found arch. Installing it wasnt as easy as clicking install on the live system’s guy, but just by following the wiki general instructions i didnt have any issues the first time. It felt good. Building the system block by block

Lemmy users dox a random person for fun

A meme was posted to c/memes@lemmy.world with a partial picture of a driver's licence. The Lemmy users in the comments proceeded to post all the identifying information they could get from the license, including gender, date of birth, and zip code of the person's home. The meme is probably reposted and so this isn't doxxing the Lemmy OP, but that's what the users in the comments seem to think they're doing.

Collecting and disseminating someone's personal information is doxxing even if that information could be found anyway with enough time and knowledge.

    Eating soap rule

Antacids are the oldest effective medications for heartburn. Chalk (calcium carbonate) has been chewed for centuries to provide some relief and is still popular.

Can you eat soap for acid reflux?

Just found out soap is alkaline. If you run out of antacids and your acid reflux is really bad, can you eat soap to settle your tummy? This post inspired by eating chalk for acid reflux.

"I will never suggest Lemmy to people" - 196 users on the Fediverse's harassment of women

    https://lemmy.nz/post/18610200/13255360

This user describes how most of the women-centered communities on Lemmy were shut down due to harassment of their members.

Another user adds "We need a safe space, but most of the women I know on here don’t have the time or energy to moderate it. And there’s so few of us, it feels like it’s not worth the effort anyway."

    Sushi is apparently "too sour"

Drag learned how to make homemade sushi because sushi is delicious. But drag's partner doesn't like sushi because "the rice is too sour".

Drag is going to try making sushi with avocado to balance the pH. Drag doesn't like avocado, so we won't be able to share, but we'll both have sushi.
