Relativty fully supports steamVR and run at 2K 120FPS. We made Relativty in my bedroom with a soldering iron and a 3D printer.
My screen has graphical glitches on default 59.99 Htz, not on other frequencies. ¯(ツ)/¯
Because the DE / tool i'm used to isn't wayland ready yet.
I mean it was 4 years ago (still 10) and in rough EU area (luckily, nobody but Apple cares enough to not include Swiss) so it was no that bad. But it was a developer device with admin rights, so everything that popped up a notification without good reason got removed.
Btw, every and each driver vendor installs a background service "for updates" on Windows, that tracks you and occasionally shows ads or flips out to eat all CPU. You can just copy the driver file, uninstall that crap and install the driver file via HWManager. Sorry, i don't remember the file extension, have to google it.
Like Glasswire i think it was? And Tinywall. That category is called application firewall.
Lucky you.
tf is a buckeye?
Did they finally stop with that crap? Having 4k on a display size where it makes no sense but needs a dedicated GPU because iGPU were not good enough then.
I did xorg.conf from the example on Arch wiki and it worked. Then i did it the correct way from the official documentation and it didn't.
Xorg literally has a option to disable tearing: Option "TearFree" "true
. If that doesn't work and your compositor neither, fix your video drivers. Lookup Hardware Video Acceleration and similiar on Arch wiki.
The neat thing is, if you glue the 12 outermost tips together, you get a nice q-tip stand.
So even if you burn it with the trash, the C goes back to the natural cycle, instead of additional C we pump out of deposits of warmer times, we make plastic off. Still sounds better to me.
So a Ark-style clusterfuck? Technically, of course. Even with 4k, there's no reason for it to be this large except no optimization been done.
Huge cost out of spite is something a person doing open source is unlikely to do.
No surprise, MS pulled the exact same thing with AppGet, now WinGet.
At this point, be very wary if MS approaches you for your project.
but then what's the point in buying an expensive NAS when you could just buy a pi with much more power, community support, packages, etc,
Exactly, what's the point?
Generally browsing via VPN is not equal to more privacy. It just tells the websites you're where the server is instead of where you are, while the server might log your full browsing habits even though they promise not to. While legitimate interests, like, ripping you off because you live in a rich country or making sure you're not in a criminal country, makes browsing with VPN a bad experience.
Instead, you could fake your location at least in Firefox' about:config.

// fake geo location (HB Zürich here) user_pref("geo.prompt.testing", true); user_pref("geo.prompt.testing.allow", true); user_pref("geo.provider.testing", true); user_pref("geo.provider.network.url", "data:application/json,{"location": {"lat": 47.377, "lng": 8.540}, "accuracy": 2700.0}"");
Let's see what a "crime" is in two years.
It does say "leaves" and not "bag"
polylactide, a bioplastic
So it does exist, and is cheap enough to use in teabags. Why not use it more, to pack vegetables snd stuff?

I find those parts fitting to current society.

How to backup a bunch of blu-rays?
Seeing that DVD are slowly going end-of-live and that you can't buy a lot of my childhood favorites in german anymore and streams are compressed-to-death (and DRMed), i had a streak of preservia. Which is why i rip a bunch of discs from the library on Linux (yes, legally not ok, but morally just ease of access, i wouldn't sell them). Since it's only to watch them when nostalgia hits, i want them in a ready-to-watch format, chose AV1 webm for small size. My burner is LibreDrive-ok ootb, meaning makemkv goes automatically in that mode.
I have the discs for a limited time, so i used to use dvdbackup
for DVD and later feed the folder to handbrake for conversion. Now i got a bunch of blu-ray:
- ripping one takes even longer; whole 25 hours; i don't have the time for the whole LotR series with bonus disks.
makemkvcon backup
needs only about 2 hours per disk, but the resulting folder is 80 GB big; i have only about 250 GB free space ** and the makemkv backup somehow has no audio stre

Any Android Qr app (preferably Open Source) that allows decoding via "open with" or share?
cross-posted from: https://lemmy.ml/post/26048405
Because, we have here something called "Swiss Qr Bill" (standardized e-bill with Qr code) and some shops send you the bill via email. Would be nice, if i could just tap the qr-image and open with app.

Does the open Relativty VR headset still work, build?
The repo is 4 years out of date, anyone has experience with it?

Any keyboard with undo functionality?
cross-posted from: https://lemmy.ml/post/21015575
Hackers Keyboard has that via ctrl+z, but only in horizontal mode. For this only i had my Galaxy S3 in horizontal per default. But can't do that with modern phones' aspect ratio and i'm missing undo since then.

Any open source host solution for private users?
Situation: we live in europe, there's PRISM and Privacy Shield and all that, to which selfhosting is the solution. Now, my sister, mostly on Apple, got concerned with all the hacks and privacy violations over the years. She's a tech noob, so i can't really recommend her prism-break.org
There's a bunch of hosted solutions geared towards small to medium business, like Univention Corporate Server, NethServer, etc.
Are there similiar bundles for private use, basically Apple cloud alternative? With services like cloud storage, cloud office, media share, maybe chat, videocall?
Or should i let her wait until i got my box up, VPN her over? I'm only semi-professional tho.
