I dont deal with them at all. I dont see them at birthdays (theirs, mine, or my childrens). I dont invite them to my kids school events. I dont call them for advice. I dont respond when they tell me something is broken in their home and can i help out? I do not send Christmas gifts, i do not keep gifts sent to me or mine. I give my kids rhe option to keep or send back the occasional gift they receive. They send them back. Ive been transparent with my kids why i donot ha e a relationship with my folks. Im trying to not perpetuate the whole thing.

In Texas at least, the vast majority of CWD positives come from breeding farms/game ranches that sell cervids to other locations to hunt/increase their herds. Something like 80% of all positives come from game ranches or places w a high fenced boundary (game fence - you can tell a game breeding facility by their fences, typically 10-15' high when the surrounding properties will only have a couple strands of barbed wire 3-4' off the ground on some old salt cedar posts.) Its in 30 of the 254 counties in Texas as of early 2024 IIRC. It only took three years to get from the Hueco Mountains near El Paso, to Bexar County/San Antonio in the south of Texas. Three fucking years.

Being a Texan, even though i do not hunt, i know a lot of fellas who fancy themselves as hunters. A lot of them go on canned hunts, at the places most likely to see a CWD positive herd. The TPWD states that while the chance of crossover to humans is low it is also NOT ZERO.

How long did it take those unlucky sods who contracted CJD/mad cow to show Symptoms and then die? Its a literal waiting game. We have no clue how long it takes for the proteins to misfold to the point of symptoms showing in white tail and muleys, just that it averages around 40-50 months to die once symptoms show. Ive never cared for venison in any amount, and ive never fed it to my children, but i know plenty of avid hunters who do feed it to their kids, neighbors, etc. How long until little Timmy exhibits symptoms because Papa fed Timmy venison? Im not willing to roll the dice on that shit.

My kids talked me in to playing minecrap. I'm 46 and I've never played it once before this weekend. Im mining, then I'm crafting.

Also playing the usual, GTA:SA multiplayer. I've been playing it since it released in 2006 or 2007 i think. And i suck at it still.

That's me. I grew up w a single button and an 8way joystick. Then i got a Nintendo, which has two buttons. Thats 100% more buttons. I never got past this level of skill. I bought both Zelda TOTK and BOTW because of how cool they looked and how much fun i might have. And Im so bad at those games. I can't remember moves to save my life. Im all thumbs, or all left feet or something. So i just fuck around in SAMP.

Depending upon your location, it may be against rules laid out by whatever agency has authority over flights/flying in the country you live in. You might be able to report it (i know, i know, im talking about going to the feds or whatever) and depending upon what is nearby, said authority may investigate. If its a repeat thing they may be able to triangulate a controller signal. Do FPV drones broadcast an FCC ID/ FAA ID or equivalent? Some can be purchased as kits, as turn key or some can be assembled from parts. Id reckon there exists open source flight controller software that will allow one to fly a drone in unauthorized spaces. Im close to a US naval base and they take unathorized drone flights very seriously. Very seriously. I cants say too much because ill docs myself but im speaking from experience here.

Is it possible to snare it/corral it somehow, without causing yourself harm? Masons twine is quite durable, cheap, and a well aimed loose handful at low elecations might foul up a prop. A small lightweight length of chain from a hardware store could work for this too. Bird netting or fishing line strung back n forth might foul up a rotor.

Honestly, i think your options for recourse are pretty small. Its either get the feds/regulatory agencies involved or get creative and get the fkn thing out of the sky by any means necessary. Are doors and windows accessible by just taking a fire eacape or something similar? Keep the doors locked, the shades drawn and the windows locked.

Im sorry if im scaring you unreasonably; it might be a one off thing, some peeping tom has gone high tech. It might be someone looking for easy apartments/homes to break in to. It might just be someone saw you and human curiosity took over.
