How to run development server?
How would I run this on my computer so I can test edits to the source? I am working on implementing an issue I submitted (and I might also see if I can figure out kbin support as well), and I have tried to run the server using the command python3 lmmy.py
, but it does not seem to do anything. I get no command line output, and I can not load the page.

I am sure you probably could get FL Studio to run as well with some time and research.

My main troubles with Wine were when I tried to get Roblox to run under it. It ran, but only barely, and I don't quite know why, but I had to use Grapejuice to get it to run without feeling like it was running on a low-end computer from 2005.

I was thinking someone could make a firmware like Tasmota but for printers that can be installed on many existing printers, and a company could make a printer that runs that is designed to run that firmware just like how you can get smart home devices designed to run Tasmota. Also, we just need printers that properly support IPP.

The only issue I have with Ardour is that all plugins need to be installed separately (assuming OP hasn’t installed them already).
I recently purchased a copy of Ardour, and I have noticed that, but I have found most basic plugins can be found for free.
nothing wrong with more options :)
Options are key.

Ardour should be able to do that.

I don't believe LMMS can do audio tracks, so Ardour would be the one to go with.

I am planning on writing a graphical interface for gphoto2 (a Linux camera remote library) which will allow for tethered shooting and some other neat things (like using a computer as an intervalometer). I might also write a web interface for it, so it will allow for using a table or phone to remote control a camera and allow the user to check on timelapses, but it will take a while to get it all to work.

I have been experimenting with using Inkscape and OpenSCAD for 3d modeling, and it seems to work for what I do, but I know quite a few people prefer a more graphical interface than OpenSCAD.

I don't think we would need to host our own Matrix server (although I have already needed to switch Matrix servers once because one stopped working and my support E-mail was never answered, so it would be nice to have a Matrix server I can rely on to not shut down), although I would like to try to avoid Discord (I much prefer Matrix due to the different client options available, and it being open source is pretty nice as well).

Wine can be difficult to get working right (I have tried to use Wine for a few things before and I also had issues with it that I couldn't solve), so it doesn't surprise me that it doesn't work right for you. It is a miracle that they can get any apps to run on a completely different operating system, and audio software tends to be very complicated and often depends on system APIs.

Or just go to https://lemmyverse.net/

I wonder if even just an open source firmware for printers could work.

I have a Brother printer that barely works with anything, but on Linux it works perfectly fine.

It looks like at least FL Studio can work with Wine, but you have to use ASIO for audio.

Server Issues
Lately there appears to be some issues with the instance (sometimes it is completely down and I have also been getting a lot of 504 errors) and I was wondering if this is a known issue and when it may be fixed.

Mastodon Client with Pagination
I was wondering if there are any Mastodon clients (desktop or mobile) that support pagination like that of Lemmy. I do not like infinite scrolling, and much prefer pagination with page numbers, but I have only seen clients with infinite scrolling or a 'load more' button.

Lemmy Client PWA
wefwef Voyager is a neat mobile-focused client I found that is similar to the Apollo client for Reddit. It is a web app (and probably the best web app I have ever used), so it takes almost no space to install and works on many platforms (currently the interface is styled to look like an iOS native app, but they are planning on making an Android theme).
Recently, they also released mobile apps, which work better than the PWA sometimes.
Issue with Federation - Appointing as a Moderator
I appointed myself as a moderator of my community [email protected] and it shows on the page on Mander but not on lemmy.studio, and I am not able to moderate the community from my lemmy.studio account.
Issue with Federation - Viewing a Community
I am trying to subscribe to the community [email protected], and it is not showing up when I search for it. I was able to access another community from Mander earlier, so it is a bit of a strange issue.
