Bulletins and News Discussion from June 23rd to June 29th, 2025 - Iran, Harden Your Deep Military Sites

Image is of the damage caused by an Iranian Kheibar Shekan ballistic missile in Israel, causing dozens of injuries.

Now in our second week of the conflict, we have seen continuing damage to both Israel and Iran, as well as direct US intervention which nonetheless seems to have caused limited damage to Fordow and little damage to Iran's nuclear program. Regime change seems more elusive than ever, as even Iranians previously critical of the government now rally around it as they are attacked by two rabid imperialists at once. And Iran's government is tentatively considering a withdrawal, or at minimum a reconsideration, of their membership to the IAEA and the NPT. And, of course, the Strait of Hormuz is still a tool in their arsenal.

A day or so on from the strike on Fordow, we have so far seen basically no change in strategy from the Iranian military as they continue to strike Israel with small barrages of missiles. Military analysts argue furiously - is this a deliberate strategy of steady attrition on Israel, or indicative of immense material constraints on Iran? Are the hits by Israel on real targets, or are they decoys? Does Iran wish to develop a nuke, or are they still hesitating? Will Iran and Yemen strike at US warships and bases in response to the attack, or will they merely continue striking only Israel?

And perhaps most importantly - will this conflict end diplomatically due to a lack of appetite for an extended war (to wit: not a peace but a 20 year armistice) or with Israel forced into major concessions including an end to their genocide? Or even with a total military/societal collapse of either side?

  • Zohran Mamdani fucking won. I have so much to say and yet no words at all after busting my ass for months on this campaign. The vibes at this victory party are unfathomable. There is so much hate and pain in this world, but in this room, for the first time in a long time, I can feel a better future at our fingertips.

  • From the Cradle, Harvard study finds Israel ‘disappeared’ nearly 400,000 Palestinians in Gaza, half of them children: Report

A new report published by the Harvard database reveals that Israel has “disappeared” at least 377,000 Palestinians since the start of its genocidal campaign against the Gaza Strip in 2023.

Half of this number is believed to be Palestinian children.

The report was written by Israeli professor Yaakov Garb, who used data-driven analysis and spatial mapping to show how the Israeli army’s siege of Gaza and indiscriminate attacks on civilians in the enclave have led to a serious drop in its population.

The 377,000 Palestinians who are unaccounted for due to Israel’s genocide are approximately 17 percent of the Gaza Strip’s entire population, which now stands at about 1.85 million. Prior to the war in Gaza, the strip’s population was estimated at 2.227 million.

It seems that our rulers, here in the 'liberal' West, have homed in on a new way of turning a person into a non-person. Here is a man, Hüseyin Doğru, a German journalist (of Turkish origins, but not a dual citizen) whom the EU authorities have found a novel, immensely cruel, way of punishing for his coverage of, and views on, Palestine.

The German authorities learned a lesson from my case. Not wishing to be answerable in court for any ban on pro-Palestinian voices (similar to the court case I am dragging them through currently), they found another way: A direct sanction by the EU utilising some hitherto unused directive, one introduced at the beginning of the Ukraine war, that allows Brussels to sanction any citizen of the EU it deems to be working for Russian interests. Clinging to the argument that Hüseyin’s website/podcast used to be shown also on Ruptly (among other platforms), they are using this directive aimed at an ‘anti-Russian asset’ to destroy a journalist who dared oppose the Palestinian genocide.

In practice, this means that Hüseyin’s bank account is frozen; that if you or I were to give him cash to buy groceries or make rent then we would be considered his accomplices and subject to similar sanctions; it also means that if he were a civil servant, he would be fired; if he were a student he would be expelled from his university; if he received a pension it would be suspended; if he received any social benefit it would be frozen. It also, astonishingly, means that he cannot leave Germany! Last, but definitely not least, it means that Hüseyin cannot sue his government for turning him into a non-person but only challenge the European Commission in Brussels – where he is not even allowed to go!

Need I say more? Is it not abundantly clear that we live, today, in a nominally liberal Europe where, in a jiffy, your political and human rights can be rescinded, including your right to challenge your government in a court of law?

  • I still can’t believe we did it and Zohran won. I extra can’t believe we did it by straight up putting regime numbers on the scoreboard last night. We pulled >90% in some places

Now that the height of this campaigning season is over (for the time being), I am taking a (dare I say, well deserved?) break. If there’s enough interest here, I am considering writing a retrospective on the primary campaign from October until today (the day after the primary) sometime soonish. Thanks for all of the support folks

  • When Trump’s sanctions in 2019 blocked insulin and other life-saving medicines from entering Venezuela—killing tens of thousands of Venezuelans—Iran intervened and bypassed the embargo. Venezuelans have not forgotten. Today, thousands took to the streets in solidarity with Iran.

  • Meme aside, here are some interesting news from the devil's core:

JUST IN: President Trump does NOT want any further military engagements in the region, and they expected these attacks from Tehran, per CNN

Hope this means that Iran can continue pounding Tel Aviv

  • Just in case someone hasn't seen it: Qassam Brigades uploaded an insane video of one of their fighters delivering an IED to a zionist troop carrier BY HAND. BY CLIMBING AND DROPPING IT ON THE OPEN HATCH AND HITTING ONE ZIONIST IN THE HEAD lmfao. He then escapes and SURVIVES.

    Source

There are a lot of things to take apart from this video.

The first and most obvious is that the Resistance in Gaza is still putting up a fight DESPITE the genocidal conditions imposed over them. So while many here doom because Iran couldn't stop "israeli" strikes because they have US support, the palestinians, STARVING TO DEATH, are climbing into tanks and delivering explosives by hand. Let us learn from them. If they were to doom they would have let the "israelis" kill them, one by one.

Second, there has been a change in tactics by the Resistance. Inexperienced people might have expected Qassam to send fighters with suicide vests against enemy troops, kinda like Daesh did mostly around Mosul and Raqqah. While the missions might seem suicidal (let us be honest, the chances for success are very slim) they are NOT suicidal in nature: The idea is for the fighter to engage the enemy as he sees fit and return safely if possible. There's a sense of self-preservation, something they (among many other things) do NOT share with Daesh. To some this might seem obvious, but we live in a world plagued by Orientalism so. And I say change in tactics because, as far as I'm aware, they have used suicide bombers in the past.

Third, there's a gigantic propaganda victory as well as a dialectic victory. Of course Qassam will proudly show their skilled warrior take an APC by himself (with enemy VERY visible too), it's a huge W for them, one more for the long list of Qassam's propaganda victories. And the dialectic victory comes from the fact that many would expect the "israelis" to be the heroes, the courageous soldiers fighting off "waves of arabs" by showing tremendous skills in battle. This scene would seem fit only in movies, like Saving Private Ryan, that has scenes similar to these. However, the hero here is the palestinian. It completely shatters the high confidence of the "IDF", they are being portrayed by clowns. War is a very masculine thing, you get to show off, and the "IDF" is being absolutely clowned by the palestinian resistance here.

Let it be the inspiration you need. They haven't given up, and as long as the palestinians keep fighting the chances to beat these fucking nazis are NEVER ZERO.

  • The total American cultural victory is undeniable when me, a Lebanese dude who has never set a foot in America and will never be able to get a visa, is pumped for Zohran Mamdani's victory in his road to becoming the mayor of NYC. Honestly, good work America.

  • Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Nasirzadeh arrived in China hours ago

“Given the urgent and urgent need for ground-based and air-based air defense, it is hoped that the authorities will make good use of the capacity created (according to some unofficial sources, a proposal from China) to fill these gaps.”

Seems like Iran could be patching up the holes

  • ‘No survivors’: Israeli media reveals details on latest Hamas ambush in Gaza

Hebrew media has released new details on the resistance ambush against Israeli forces in south Gaza’s Khan Yunis, in which seven soldiers were burned alive in their troop carrier following an explosive attack claimed by Hamas’s armed wing.

“At exactly 5:30 pm yesterday, the first report came in about a fire breaking out in an armored personnel carrier (APC) of the POM type, belonging to the engineering forces. Initial investigations suggest that a militant approached the APC and attached an explosive device to it. The device detonated, causing the entire vehicle to catch fire,” Israeli journalist and army radio correspondent Doron Kadosh reported on 25 June.

“Military firefighting teams rushed to the scene to extinguish the fire in the APC. A D-9 bulldozer was brought in and dumped sand onto the vehicle in an attempt to smother the flames, but all firefighting efforts failed,” Kadosh added.

After failing to extinguish the flames, rescue forces towed the military vehicle to Israeli territory as it was still on fire with the soldiers inside.

“The fire was only extinguished once the vehicle had reached Israeli territory. Rescue teams and helicopters were dispatched to the scene, but none of the fighters survived. No one remained to be rescued from the wreckage. All seven soldiers were killed.”

Kadosh went on to say that it took several hours to identify the bodies of the seven Israeli soldiers.

Couldn't have happened to nicer people.

  • Stephen Colbert spent half the fucking interview with mamdani asking him questions about Israel about its right to exist etc. Dafuq? He kept pressing him on it. Isn't he running for mayor of NY and not Tel Aviv? Some of the questions too.... Implying that his religion might make jewish people in NYC feel unsafe.

  • A new scandal in Arabic social media. The repugnant Queen Rania Abdullah of Jordan and her children attended the ostentatious wedding of Jeff Bezos whose company is heavily involved in the zionist childkilling genocide machine.

Rania is Palestinian, like most of the people living in what is called Jordan.

  • I just woke up and I'm watching an angry Trump on MSNBC. And he says he's "not happy" with Iran and Israel. He also said they don't know "What the fuck they're doing." And "fuck" wasn't even beeped out. What's going on!

  • Socialism in One City update: my Crossword subscription service, NYTimes, informs me that with ~~54pct 62pct 81pct 90pct of votes counted into the first round, Zohran leads Cuomo 43 to 36. 🙏~~ 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

  • Yesterday, Palestinian Tribes, Clans, and Families announced their intention to secure aid convoys to ensure their safe delivery to needy families. They warned citizens at gathering at aid points, "death traps," as over 500 martyrs have ascended at these distribution points in recent weeks.

They emphasized that aid would be distributed through official international channels to guarantee fair and dignified access for all, vowing that any attempt to loot the aid would be considered a crime against the Palestinian people.

Today, we confirm that the clans and tribes successfully secured the entry of aid trucks into Gaza City and the northern Strip. Flour, food aid, and medicines were delivered to organizations for distribution.

The High Commission for Clan Affairs considered the actions a historic stance of honor and national responsibility.

Akef al-Masri, of the Clan Affairs Commission stated that this was just the "first step in a series of upcoming steps." He promised the Palestinian people more "surprises in the coming days," asserting that joint national efforts will lead to more aid entering the besieged Strip. He reiterated that the Palestinian clans will continue to work tirelessly to break the siege and secure the needs of the population.

He stressed that the clans "will not stand idly by in the face of our people's suffering, and will continue to work with all their energy to secure people's needs and break the siege imposed on them in every possible way."

The only thing I can say is that these are the most heroic people in the world.

  • Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov: 'I completely understand if Iran wants to suspend all cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Grossi is now insisting that Iran grant the agency immediate access to its nuclear facilities to verify the whereabouts of enriched materials and assess the situation on the ground. But where are the assurances that this information won’t be leaked? I see no such safeguards. There is no confidentiality at all.'

  • Democratic Socialist candidate for mayor of NYC, Zohran Mamdani, has officially taken his first lead in an independently conducted poll, pulling ahead of Cuomo in round 8 of ranked choice voting 52%-48%

With only a 3% MOE and 4% undecided voters left, who have been falling heavily towards Zohran as this race unfolds, I am cautiously optimistic. The Zohran campaign’s voter outreach has been unreal, and seems to be fairly easily overcoming being outspent $10-$1 by the Cuomo campaign.
