  • Grow them yourself or learn to ID them and go hunting. I haven't bought shrooms in over a decade and I take them once every year or 18 months. I picked what ended up being 4 dry ounces in one day some years back. I was giving away to anyone who asked. Psilocybin-containing mushrooms grow basically anywhere where there (pick two) cows, people, grass, pine trees, cultivated lawns, hardwood mulch, rhododendrons, azaleas and college/municipal grounds with tropical to temperate climates.

You need to be extremely careful and ideally have a knowledgeable person help you until you really figure it out because there are mushrooms that will at best ruin your liver that look very similar to the ones you want in most of the places where the good ones grow. All Europe and the west coast Psilocybe cyanescens grows gregariously in big patches, sometimes intermixed with Galerina marginata, which will fuck you up in a death kind of way, not a fly to space kind of way. They look very similar, but are readily identifiable in the field. If you're in the US south and anywhere near cows, you're in luck - Psilocybe cubensis readily grows in cow patties and it's damn near impossible to get a wrong ID given the circumstances.

  • I'm just guessing here, but maybe a rejected suitor? Or a person they're beefing with? A mentally ill person who found these pictures and decided to direct their hate at them? People do all sorts of weird stuff for all sorts of weird reasons.

  • The definition of "cardiovascular system." Budtenders are just built different.

Then there was the extremely wealthy guy who didn't know what I meant when I said "install." He actually asked me "What means "Install""? Native English speaker, over 50, owned a couple businesses. He'd never heard of installing a program or a dishwasher.

  • I accidentally discovered video of a coworker masturbating when I was reviewing security footage from the day before. He had gone to an area open to most people, in plain view of a camera and had himself a wank. I guess he forgot to not be a creep.

I reported the incident and the guy was out and gone 30 minutes later. Don't jack it at work on the couch people eat their lunch on.

  • The DNC essentially handing Clinton the nomination was the height of hubris on both party's sides. Clinton for thinking she was owed the presidency and the DNC for purporting to be the more left leaning party while actively ignoring the majority of their voters to move farther right. In the nomination process the only vote that a member of the DNC leadership gets should be their vote in their precinct, but instead they get supervotes that are weightier than the aggregate votes of entire regions.

Fuck these blue posers and their rigged game. We gotta make our own party farther left - pro union, pro taxing the rich at at least 75% on income over $500k, pro actual healthcare paid for by taxes, pro social welfare programs paid for by taxes, pro environmental reclamation and ACTUAL green tech... you know, all those things that make sense and lead to a stable, productive country.

  • Individual people who are Democrats can be good people. The Democratic party has been asleep at the wheel when they're not ignoring the will of their constituents since mid-Obama and allowed us to slide into this disaster.

FYI regarding microKORG, USB MIDI and Minilogue XD

I don't know who needs to hear this, but I figured this out and it's made it possible for me to interface my microKORG with my computer without buying a dedicated USB MIDI interface. It works for passing notes and for loading sysex/using Korg's craptastic software.

The Minilogue XD has a type-B USB port, as well as full sized MIDI in and out. When plugged into the computer, the Minilogue presents two sets of MIDI interfaces - one labelled "midi" and another labelled "sound" or "keyboard," with in and out for each.

By connecting the out from micro to the in on mini and the out on the mini to the in on the micro and using the minilogue's "MIDI" labelled interface on the computer, you can connect to the micoKORG and backup/load your patches.

I imagine this can be done with other instruments or controllers that have USB and standard MIDI interfaces, but I don't have anything else to test with.

    Psilocybe cyanescens

I found this little fella (as well as a number of his friends) outside. It's cold and wet, so I brought them in where they can get warm and dry out. Remember folks, if you're cold they're cold.

Space Drugs Factory Denied Reentry to Earth

The Air Force and the FAA denied permission for Varda Space's capsule to return and land on Earth.

    By Passant Rabie

After manufacturing crystals of an HIV drug in space, the first orbital factory is stuck in orbit after being denied reentry back to Earth due to safety concerns.

The U.S. Air Force denied a request from Varda Space Industries to land its in-space manufacturing capsule at a Utah training area, while the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) did not grant the company permission to reenter Earth’s atmosphere, leaving its spacecraft hanging as the company scrambles to find a solution, TechCrunch first reported. A spokesperson from the FAA told TechCrunch in an emailed statement that the company’s request was not granted at this time “due to the overall safety, risk and impact analysis.”

Gizmodo reached out to Varda Space to ask which regulatory requirements have not been met, but the company responded with a two-word email that ominously read, “no comment.” The Cali
