  • It depends if it's a voltage that's triggering the speaker via a circuit on that IC, or if it ends up powering the speaker directly, and I'd bet the former. Putting a resistor in series with one of the speaker leads is more likely to achieve what you're hoping for (without knowing more about the circuit).

Do voices and the buzzer sound come out of the same speaker shown in the picture, or is there a separate little "buzzer" speaker in there?

  • I think the intent is to make people aware that someone can externally be happy/successful/etc but still be in a very bad place internally. People who have or do deal with depression and related conditions probably think this is so obvious it's not worth pointing out, but I think a lot of them would be surprised how often the average person takes someone's externalized condition and assumes it's their entire experience.

I have no idea if posts like this picture do anything to actually inform people (and I'd bet not), but I guess I get what they're going for.

  • I don't have a ton of experience but I've kept Nepenthes pitchers before - the ones I've kept are pretty particular to humidity staying up and not getting dry soil. A lot of carnivorous plants also need distilled (or similar) water to stay happy.

That being said, there's lots of carnivorous species that aren't tropical or picky! Check out some Saracanea pitcher species if the tropical ones are too much to deal with

    Got some new carnivorous plants!

  • Does anybody know if there's groups organizing already that are trying to cause that kind of reform? Would be good to spread the word if somebody has the ball rolling already. I think a huge portion of the voter base feels disenfranchised by not having an actually progressive platform to vote for.

  • Right, I think this is the point that the above comment is making as well. That the numbers of publicly/out gay people went up because of a more accurate count thanks to a less hostile sociopolitical climate.

I think the point that's being confused in that comment is that the fear mongering was obviously bullshit, and modern bigots pointing at any increase in LGBTQ+ identification nowadays may continue to use those statistics as justification for anti-LGBTQ+ platforms. Instead of engaging that argument that the hate mongers have always known is in bad faith, it's much more to the point nowadays to make them explain what they think is wrong with increased LQBTQ+ identification, or as the original comment put it, "Yeah, and?"

  • Thanks for providing this. Very well might be the source of the quote based on the date published.

Also worldnetdaily.com is known for promoting falsehoods and is considered a hate group so I think there's still a decent chance that even that article linked isn't a real quote from Norris, though it might be since he was self-promoting via "Chuck Norris facts" for a while.

  • Anybody got a source on that quote? Looked for a minute but didn't find proof he said that. Chuck is a dumbass and those sentiments are echoed here, but this kind of seems like a fake meme quote to me. Please provide a source if I've missed it!

    Iguana enclosure mid-upgrade

Still a lot to do and fill out. All surfaces are sealed a long time ago and should be reptile safe. Cat palm is reptile safe from what I’ve seen.

4 nozzle MistKing sprayer setup for humidity, heat+uva/b provided by multiple bulbs. R.O. water provided in basin and spraying.

Always open to more advice for husbandry! His name is Julian and he gets a large variety of veggies minimizing oxalates

    Our big ol’ rescue, Taz.

She’s from a shelter so we don’t know exactly what mix of breeds she is, but she’s very large and has a lot of loose skin like a lot of breeds bred for their coats. She’s 6 going on 7 years old!

Our happy shiba just turned three years old and we love him to bits. He’s eyeing a (dog safe) sandwich just out of frame we made as a birthday feast 🥰
