  • Absolutely--especially if it helps to offset server costs. I've donated before for that.

Curious what you'd think of a sort of roped off, "free to enter" entry community/instance that would be akin to a shallow pool. Just enough so you understand how it works and see what it would be like, but everything else would have that pay-for barrier. You're right that there's a good benefit to putting a wall up but at the same time we're still small enough that actively discouraging people from joining might not* be wise. I absolutely have turned my nose up to websites and servers that have some kind of pretty splash page and then a "Okay pay to get in!" message. I don't even know what I'm paying for.

    The Internet In General, Really

  • Oh hey I was just about to comment that the one time I got morphine in the hospital it absolutely did not make me feel like this. It didn't feel like anything except "thank god the pain stopped, now I can rest." But it didn't make me feel good above my baseline and I was about to wonder if something was wrong with me? Now I just feel lucky.

  • You know, I was actually going to ask why short hair on elderly women was so common. I had just assumed it was a remnant of their preferences from when they were younger, but I can definitely see trying to maximize thinned out hair!

While optimally you'd use a slow cooker for this, you could also figure out how to do slow and low in an oven without too much fuss if that's all you've got.

    Bad Jokes by Jeff

    [Post 1] badjokesbyjeff

A elderly woman decided to prepare her will and told her preacher she had two final requests.

First she wanted to be cremated, and second, she wanted her ashes scattered over Walmart.

"Walmart?" the preacher exclaimed. "Why Walmart?"

"Then I'll be sure my daughters will visit me twice a week."

    [Post 2] badjokesbyjeff

Jokes aside, personally I only have two requests for when I die. I want my remains scattered around Disneyland, and I don't want to be cremated.

((User gondwana 5d ago)) Do pigs still eat slop?

Farmers don't stop their hogs anymore

    It's over

((User wolfwarrior142 5d ago)) If it makes you feel better. Our pigs' favorite meal is a bucket of rotting whole cow's milk that we specifically let get gross before giving to em cuz they love it that way. Its not their main food, cuz thats grain, but they still get a lot of disgusting milk. So thats kinda like slop I guess

((User gondwana 5d ago)) Ok (heart emoji) yay (heart emoji)

    "Batch" Arbitration

Got an update on a privacy policy that stated they were doing batch arbitration now. Sounds like it's trying to thwart the idea that if a bunch of users agree to go to arbitration you can drain a company's bank accounts.

    (h) Batch Arbitration. To increase the efficiency of administration and resolution of arbitrations, you and ElevenLabs agree that in the event that there are 100 or more individual Requests of a substantially similar nature filed against ElevenLabs by or with the assistance of the same law firm, group of law firms, or organizations, within a 30 day period (or as soon as possible thereafter), JAMS shall: (i) administer the arbitration demands in batches of 100 Requests per batch (plus, to the extent there are less than 100 Requests left over after the batching described above, a final batch consisting of the remaining Requests); (ii) appoint one arbitrator for each batch; and (iii) provide for the resolution of each batch as a single consolidated arbitration with one s

    Color Hunt

This is a fun little website for people who do anything involving colors. One of my favorite things to do is try to grab a palette I like and use it in a coloring book! I've also used it when decorating rooms in House Flipper.

Techniques That Changed Something For You

A lot of good cooking is in technique. What's something that you discovered or was told that really changed something meaningful for you? For me, I had struggled a lot to make omelettes. They always wound up becoming scrambled eggs because I sucked at flipping them over to cook on the other side (I like my eggs cooked pretty well so this was important to me.) Finally, watching someone else make an omelette, I noticed they didn't flip it. They put a lid on the pan, turned the heat down, and let the top cook that way. I tried it myself and now I make almost perfect omelettes every time. Have you had anything like this happen to you? If so, what was it?
