I know in QMK you can set up different layouts that you can switch to. This is used for switching between qwerty and dvorak and stuff like that. You could set up layers that have the space defined like you want it in each condition. Check out PDF(layer): https://docs.qmk.fm/feature_layers#switching-and-toggling-layers
The Planck keyboard default firmware does this on an 'adjust' layer: https://github.com/qmk/qmk_firmware/blob/master/keyboards/planck/rev7/keymaps/default/keymap.c
This is how I'd do it. But it's not something that you control from the computer side. Also, having it baked into the firmware means you can use that feature on whatever system you might want to plug the keyboard into. I don't know if that kind of thing is possible to set up with the VIA gui. But since you're using arch (btw), learning QMK might be right up your alley!
There's also this feature in QMK that I don't quite understand called the 'Programmable Button' that lets the software interpret certain keycodes before handing off to the OS (I think that's how it works? I might have that wrong): https://docs.qmk.fm/features/programmable_button
I hope that helps :)
Something something security reasons maybe? 🤔
Huh, I hadn't heard about previous efforts to make it one way for motor vehicles permanently. I'm sure the residents of the homes along that street would love that solution, as would the bikers/walkers who would then have way more than enough space to coexist. Seems unnecessary, though.
I bet you could narrow the lanes and keep the two way slow bumpy motor vehicle traffic while providing a nice two way bike lane, though I'll admit I'm no traffic engineer. I'm just a person who has driven successfully on more narrow roads. I'd be in favor of a permanent physical barrier between the motor vehicle way and bike way no matter what, though.
I hate those bumps so much, despite also knowing that they have to be there due to speeding jerkfaces, heh.
I've had similar problems and this was the issue. The problem is there's no way to know what the requirements are from a user's point of view at the moment of posting, and the error doesn't provide useful information, so it just looks broken.
I don't know how much can be done within the app about the error messaging, but having a way to squish down the image in size and compression within the posting flow would be really helpful.
Yeah, IPA is way too harsh. I think sticking with a brown ale, or even a kölsh is much safer.
For years and years I got whatever was cheapest and replaced them when they inevitably failed. Now I've been slowly replacing them with really high quality more expensive cables that I'm afraid of ruining so now they last longer 😆
squeak squeak
Modern dating and the apps and stuff sucks for everybody (except maybe a few) in varying amounts for various intersecting reasons. The fact that our insecurities are priced into a company's business plan is no fun. It's just a truth that the default answer to the question, 'is this a good match' is 'no', and it's probably healthy to limit the influence that has on your self image in whatever way seems sustainable while also being open to serendipity. It's hard to feel good after being ghosted, but dang if it's probably better than getting any closer to that kind of person.
Love it! Preonic style layout is my fave
Oooooooh it's a webpage now! Awesommmmme <3
Are these things fun to use? I've seen a bunch of youtube videos about them but it's hard to tell hype from enjoyment. Would love to hear someone's personal experience.
I used similar ones on my ergodox for pgup/pgdn, but I was doing lots of work with pdfs. Maybe layer keys?
Cool board! What are you using those middle two keys for?
I run into this problem too. In my case I finally figured out that it's an image size problem, as the other commenter said, though the error doesn't message that, it just fails without explanation. What I would like is an image resizer within the app so I could just shrink it down, and generally some way to know before failure what I'm supposed to do. Some of that could be solved within Boost, but I understand not all of it.
Another person said that instances will encourage uploading to imgur or catbox - but catbox files don't get previews on Boost, so that's no good. At least for me anyway - but that's kind of a separate topic.
Oh wow. I've been needing to upgrade for a while and happened to be in a place where I was ready to make the purchase. The day the news about the most regressive tax scheme in history hit I went through the whole normal process of selecting all the completely insanely priced upgrade options I needed and placed the order. It's due next week - I must have been one of the last ones.
I used a local model based llm thing to separate a drum part out of a song that I was working on learning with some friends. That was a lot of fun, and didn't feel like I was ripping creators off.
I also recently tried out gemini's research mode thing to research a subject I already knew a good bit about as a test. It got some decent answers and showed its sources, which was great for double checking its work, but it still had that oddly verbose and repetitive quality to it. I asked for an audio summary and it spat out an absolutely horrifying uncanny valley fake podcast on the topic. I still kinda shudder when I think about it.
The time pressure makes this inappropriate, but something I've started doing for christmas time gifts is making jarred apple pie filling. It's always a big hit, and has also become a much-loved fall tradition to visit a local orchard to collect the apples and pears.
No Buy Buddies! Love it.
Haaaahaha classic. Awful, but classic.
I vacuumed my house until my vacuum's battery ran out. Once it charges I'll finish the job.
Really gotta get in there sometimes.
Weird dark mode text behavior on Android 15
Since updating to 15 I've had issues with this kind of text display. This, for instance, is in Messages. Messages itself is set to follow the system theme, and the system theme is set to dark mode. If I set it to light mode the text displays as expected. Trying to manually set the theme in Messages doesn't fix it. Nothing special going on with the phone itself - it's a Pixel 6 Pro just running regular Android. Thought I'd post in case anyone has seen something similar.
New Cab Day!
Just got this vertical 4x12 from Zilla. Got it to pair with this VHX. It currently has four k100's in it, but I'm planning to swap a couple for v30's in a different cab. The vertical 4x12 with the tip-back wheels and handles are really cool - I got this thing up a couple flights of stairs myself without too much trouble, and it sounds great. I gotta say, this form factor solves a lot of problems with the typical 4x12 - posting here so hopefully more guitar nerds see it! Zilla (and Paul!) are great to work with, and make really solid stuff.
(The two on the sides I ordered a few years back when the F12-X200s came out - they built these from the reference cab specs that Celestion published, and I mostly use them with my Kemper and a Matrix GT-1000 power amp. They're also pretty rad. I've taken these out separately and run synths through that power amp and it's a killer setup for that sort of thing)
Elysian production facility in Georgetown shut down by Anheuser-Busch after unionizing
Speaking for myself, I will never set foot in the Elysian location in Capitol Hill after this, purchase any Elysian beer, or for that matter anything Anheuser-Busch makes.
