  • My friend has the galaxy fold. He likes it because he has a tablet with him everywhere.

I personally don’t want a tablet with me everywhere so I don’t want them. But that said I’m not at all worried about the screens durability. Foldable phones aren’t new at this point, they’ve worked the kinks out 🥁 Only long long term (10+ years) durability is my concern. I like playing with old devices and I’m sure they won’t age well in that regard.

  • I prefer keeping drives like this external so I can turn them off when I'm not using them. No need having the disks spin up just because my machine woke from sleep or something decided to access it. Plus should you get some malware on your computer if the disk wasn't turned on it shouldn't be affected.

  • That’s the biggest reason I went with a proart board instead of any other gaming board. It had all the features I want, but (almost) none of the gamer cringe.

At least this board has actual 10gig Ethernet unlike their other ROG board I was looking at that only had Realtek 5 gig for some unholy reason. No board costing almost $500 should be afflicted with Realtek anything, but only 5 gig?

  • Pulling out of the driveway does sound pretty excessive to me.

If you turn on the right turn signal but you’re going in reverse is it pointed in the direction the ass of your car is going, or the direction you’re going to be facing? There’s no non confusing way to use them in reverse, and your reverse lights are enough of a sign that you’re probably gonna get in the way.

  • Like, if their software ran on other devices, they’d have lots of revenue and growth options left.

They’d be just as fucked because at the end of the day nobody would want to buy the hardware that their software runs on. It might have a delayed reaction, but eventually lack of sales would still be their problem.

The same thing applies to houses and many other large purchases. Also most states that offer a trade in discount also let you sell the car private party (or to another dealer) and claim it on your taxes. You just have to file more paperwork vs the dealer figuring that out for you.

    Fixing Federation with Hexbear

Is there any plan to try to fix federation with hexbear.net? Shortly after their domain expired it stopped working, but now that it's back it doesn't seem to have resumed. Does Lemmy even have something in place to fix federation issues when something like this happens?

Thinkpad X61 Tablet Windows XP recovery media

I have an X61 Tablet and I'd like to get the original Lenovo recovery media for XP tablet edition (I think version 2005) mostly so I can get all of the drivers and functionality working.

I currently have an XP Pro install but that doesn't have any of the special tablet features. And my xp tablet edition install decided it doesn't want to work anymore and BSODs on start, and I don't feel like dealing with the hunt for old drivers.

Does anyone know where or how I can acquire isos or even the actual recovery CDs for this machine?
