  • I mean, you're not wrong, but also try your best to primary candidates outside of the two parties, if you're in the US.

    While it is true there are no good kings, we should try to get as many halfway decent people in the office as possible.

    Once primaries are done, then under no circumstances vote for Republicans. And if the option is between a Democrat that might narrowly win and a third-party candidate that might narrowly win, then vote for the third-party candidate. Otherwise vote for Democrats.

    It boils down to my legs are 5 inches longer than her legs, so adding 5 inches to her height by swapping legs would take 5 inches from my height, and the reason why our individual heights are different afterwards is because of the 2 inch differences in our torsos.

    If you're going to use Reddit because it's one of the three websites available to you, then you're going to fucking use Reddit and no matter what they do to it, you will stay there and continue to use Reddit.

    They could come into your house, fuck your wife, punch you in the balls, shit in your mouth, and you'd go to Reddit to complain about it.

    The more you complain about things on Reddit about Reddit, the more you use Reddit, the more ads they serve, the more money they make.

    It's the same reason why YouTube now no longer has a front page for you to browse unless you sign in or enable some sort of history tracker in your system. They want their fucking money and they're going to get it and they do not care how much it annoys you.

    When people post on YouTube about how terrible YouTube has gotten and get a lot of interaction with people who miss the good old days of YouTube, YouTube gets to serve a lot of ads and make a lot of money off of that. And it's the same thing with Reddit, it's the same thing with every other fucking corpo site.

  • Visualize how a sound would change with a microphone approaching the source, as it gets farther away, it will pick up more room echo and reflection and have less direct sound.

    I would do something like duplicate the track and put a very strong reverb on the duplicate and then fade out the direct track as you fade in the indirect reverb track to simulate the microphone moving farther away from the source, and then do that in reverse to simulate it coming in closer.

    I would also, in the reverb settings, make it 100% wet and 0% dry, so that the fade controls the dryness and reverb of the sound.

    If I'm going for maximum realism, I might also just do a recording of a room with silence and then amplify the silence so that the air noises and everything are somewhat present in the playback and then mix that in as a third track so that you get real room sound mixed into everything.

    And in a way that is important, because since American government derives from the consent of the governed, it is vital for the people currently in power to keep the American people distracted from what is happening so that they do not align together in strong enough numbers to overthrow them.

    Therefore we have continuous circuses.

    The moment they stop dancing and distracting us from what is happening is the moment they lose everything.
