The Guinness World Record holder, from Portugal, lived to be 31 years and 165 days old.

I'm doing Domaystic (as you know). Have several exchanges I've signed up for. They don't require too many words, so I don't feel overwhelmed. However, I do have one that is a minimum of 1k and I've already reached 5k for it. Whoops!
I guess I did. Stupid card games.
Yeah, that's the weird thing. I haven't posted a Bandori fic in a bit, so it's been a surprise that someone has started going through them, giving kudos on a lot, and occasionally giving a few words on the ones they like most. And it isn't sticking to a pairing/character. So they just like my writing all the way around 3
Considering it is actually addressing the miscommunication issues of the main pairing and not leaving it as something for the end of the four season plan gives me hope in ways a lot of series don't when it comes to romance plotlines.
Thank you for the reminder I should binge some QI again.
I'm barely keeping up with things I want to be doing! However, I have signed up for a few more exchanges though, because those have managed to get my creativity flowing where my projects are... not. I still want to be doing them, but perhaps I needed a break? I'm hoping to at least get a few chapters of my ongoing big series done so I can start updating again on its anniversary in June. That would be nice.
I've gotten some comments on much older pieces in a smaller fandom though, which were a pleasant surprise! Nice to know people are still reading some of those drabbles/double drabbles I did when I was getting back into writing fanfic.
Still obsessed with the Hellaverse. The rest of HB season 2 is coming out this year and I'm already dying.
Taking part in a pairing week too. It's the last day and I have two days (or four chapters) left to do. It would have been fine, but my ideas have grown for every part to get longer and longer as the week went on. Whoops!
I've signed up for other exchanges, for some reason. Perhaps because I got really inspired by one of them and am hoping that another will do the same? Anyway, I'm currently working on one exchange and one Big Bang submission for YGO. Then it will be time to get back on the stupid Puzzle vs Haga duel which is causing me such problems.
Oh, and prepping for Domaystic. Both of those things. This weekend is busy though, so I'll probably only be finishing up the pairing week and then doing the rest of the stuff after the weekend.
Here's a Mulan fanfic that I thought was quite good! It's a mix of the Disney flick and the original Ballad of Mulan.
There is some violence, because of course there is it is taking the fact of someone going to war seriously. Still, it goes into what if the main character was indeed trans and then how long an actual war would take.
Well, I'm not doing a great job with Finishing then. Oh well. XD
A friend helped me make real decks for everyone in Duelist Kingdom, so I'm good on that front. It's still hard work to make it all something interesting to read. But I've gotten some compliments on my writing of duels so far, so it's worth the effort to put into it!
Oh shit. Finish What You Started? When was that starting? When is it ending? I've forgotten everything.
I'm so deep in the HH/HB brainrot. Perhaps it is because I'm not wanting to write a duel, but I'm in Duelist Kingdom and the first duel is finally starting. There is so much of this story I want to write, but why so much Duel Monsters? No wonder both the manga and the anime made up whatever they wanted when it came to the game. It's easier than writing consistent rules.
I'm preparing for Domaystic in the meanwhile. I like having a lot of those prompts at least prepared so I can post daily in May. Hopefully I'll manage with it.
Can't believe you are doing more Squirrel Stapler.
Friday Roundup! (March 1-3)
What's everyone reading and writing this weekend? I'm still taking things slowly, but I'm continuing to get a little written everyday. I've also been trying to read more Hazbin Hotel comics, not on Youtube, but everywhere wants an account these days and I don't have the spoons.
That's always a nice feeling. I love the surprise of finding that something old has new interest at the same time as I've figured out about it (or started looking into it). Good luck with the writing! I hope your fandom continues to grow in stories
It's sure helping out! Fandom can be such a balm during these trying times. C:
They are both from the same creator and take place in the same world. So if you like one, you will probably like the other one. I adore HH, but I prefer the character focus in HB a lot more. Somehow I'm not surprised, considering HH is the one which got picked up by Amazon and HB is the free one on Youtube.
For the good news, while my brain was braining super hard, I ended up writing two 2k stories for HB while I couldn't sleep. I like how they both turned out, so even if the entire process was pure pain, at least I made some great pieces from it. :)
Health is... healthing. I'm barely keeping up with anything I want to do. On the other hand, I'm reading a bit more. My newest fandoms are Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss and I need more of both of those.
I do like finishing what I've started. I'd be doing that anyway, so I'll be sure to be participating! Even if it is just in spirit.
I've fallen behind in my plans, but I'm cutting myself a break. A short loss of power, some medical stuff, and general fatigue galore. I'm still getting in a bit of writing everyday... I'm pleased enough with what I'm still doing.
Friday Round Up (Feb 9-11)
How is your fandom intake this week? What are your plans for this weekend? I'm doing the same as before, keeping up with the stories I want to be writing while navigating pesky real life.
I have accomplished one full week of Femslash Feb, so success on that front!
I still can't believe you were inspired to write by Squirrel Stapler.
more virtual hugs
But I want to finish them! Completing them makes me happy!
I missed this weekend. Was too busy recovering from January!
January was overall horrible for me because of a lot of life stuff. I have managed to keep up with my writing, but I'm not as far ahead as I'd wanted to be. Didn't even do everything I wanted this weekend. It's Femslash February, so I wanted to have something to post every day for it. I'll run out of what I had prepared for it in a few days and have no idea if I'll be able to get more done in time.
I'm participating in a minibang though and that's my priority. As it always is when other people are involved. :) That and my usual weekly chapter. Still haven't missed a week in one and a half years and I don't want to start now.
Today I read the news.
...mentally and emotionally hurting counts too, right?
Whether people like his videos or not is irrelevant. He has done a lot for lots of causes and he genuinely appears to wish everyone the best. It isn't a stunt. Over the years he's put his actions where his words are to prove that he cares.
I don't watch him as much as I used to, but whenever I do or hear something about him, that much hasn't changed.
Do You Like Giftfic?
I used to believe everyone did, but I know better. Some people don't like it from people they don't know. Others don't like receiving it from anyone at all. What do you think about it?
I personally like writing giftfic. I don't do it all the time, because if I did I would never write the stuff I like the most (as no one else writes the stories I really want). But how happy people have been when I have? Has always made it worth it.
Receiving it is always nice too. Especially when people have made the effort to write the specific tropes/pairings/whatever I love. After all, most of them are rare. It's always appreciated.
AI-generated art posted anywhere can bother me. It depends.
If the art comes with a post crediting the art and artists used to create the piece? I don't mind them, even if the art isn't to my taste. But more than often it's not. And I do consider it stealing if the AI-generated art wasn't pulling only from the person who was using the AI's own art.
As most take from anywhere on the internet and attributes it to no one, I shall continue to block.
I have. When it comes to Pokémon stories, I have never bothered to read much about canon characters. I've always been more curious about OCs. Probably because my canon is the games and, for the most part, the characters in the games are so one note that even if you are using them as the characters, they still come off as OCs with how they are fleshed out.
And I love it. So when I finally got around to writing a Pokémon story based on a nuzlocke run, it was filled with OCs.
It's a fandom thing though. There are plenty of people in Pokémon who are interested in OCs too or only interested in OCs, as I am. I don't notice a similar interest for me in other fandoms. With them, I'm much more interested in the canon characters. An added OC can steal my heart, but they usually have to start as a secondary or tertiary character. I find I'm less likely to be interested when the OC is the main character for most fandoms.
So if you are interested in Pokémon, look up nuzlocke-based fanfiction. There are some gems of OCs in those!
Plot Holes in Source Material
What do you like to do with them? Some people ignore them entirely. I personally love to build a reason why the plot hole exists. Building onto the world and setting in the background to make sense of everything. What about you?
What Summary Grabs You?
Forgetting tags for a moment: if you are already searching in your fandoms/pairings/favourite tags, what in a summary will cause you to click it over any other story?
Friday Roundup! What Are You Doing This Weekend? (11/3)
It is November? Are we writing? Drawing? Reading?
For me, NaNo has started, but I'm also busy with a lot of other things which means I'm not doing as much writing until the latter half of the month. So this weekend will have a little writing, but unfortunately not a lot of other fandom things.
What about everyone else?

Friday Roundup! What Are You Doing This Weekend? (10/20)
What's up with this weekend, folks? I'm doing the usual. I have a bit of a buffer, but I want to pad it even further if I can in preparation for some upcoming busy times.
Writing is where it is at for me this weekend. Whenever I have spoons and a spare moment, that is. How about all of you?
What Makes For A Good Antagonist?
For stories with an antagonist, what do you like to see? What antagonists, canon or fanfic, do you enjoy?
For example, I tend to like the fanon interpretations of Ganondorf more than how he is in canon. Considering how canon doesn't tend to dive into his character too much beyond "power". Whether fans write Ganondorf as an antagonist in reform or still straight up "evil", they still add in nuance about what it is like to be one of the rare male Gerudo or some awareness of the eternal cycle of the Triforce.
On the other end of the spectrum is Alex, from the original Golden Sun duology. Something about not knowing him very well stuck out to me. Despite his motivations being very simple, how he interacted with the protagonists of the game was interesting. You never faced him directly. He was an instigator for many things and probably wanted to be the most important person in the story. But he wasn't.
Research and Writing
What is something you have researched lately for your fic(s)? Or something you learnt a long time ago for one which you still find fascinating?
Recently I've been learning a lot more about the Japanese school system. Some of which I learnt once, but had forgotten, and others which I never knew.
One fact I forgot was how you cannot be held back a grade. The social stigmatization from it is considered more damaging than the fact someone's grades might show they don't understand anything going on in class.
One I learnt which I did not know at all was how the punishment of standing out in the hallway with buckets of water was phased out in the 80s, along with other physical punishments to students. This explains why you might see it happen in older anime, but not in any newer ones.
I enjoy all of the things I learn through my desire to write. How about you?
Friday Roundup! What Are You Doing This Weekend? (9/22)
After nearly two weeks of no internet at home, I shall have the comfort of mind to catch up on all the writing I've meant to do. There was too much research and fact checking I couldn't do without the internet. When I was away from home, I was not comfortable enough to do the writing. But this weekend! This weekend.
How about everyone else? What writing or reading plans do you have?
What Makes You Drop A Fic?
I do not mean SPAG issues or things you consider bad writing/storytelling. What is something which is not actually a problem that you just don't enjoy to the point where you would drop a fic you were enjoying?
I was considering this, because if a premise interested me in the first place, the biggest reasons I could think to ever drop it would be too many grammar issues or characters suddenly feeling OOC (in my opinion).
Outside of those or untagged triggers though... I considered how I might actually stop reading a story that goes by too fast and doesn't let the reader explore characters' reactions to things. Even if the characters still act like you would expect them too afterward. I like diving into characters' feelings and motivations too much.
Friday Roundup! What Are You Doing This Weekend? (9/1)
The last chapter of an arc is going up for me tomorrow, followed by the start of the next arc.
I should be celebrating, but on the 3rd starts my rarepair week. I'm almost done with all 21 of the stories I wanted to write for it, but I have one more to do and some clean up. As well as the uploading. Uh... whoops? Forgot that was a part of the process!
Basically, this weekend will be busy for me as I make sure I have everything ready for next week. However, if I do it all this weekend, I won't be rushing at all during the week. Just pressing post! I'm really happy about what I've accomplished.
Oh wait. The rarepair week means I've run out of buffer for my big project. (Been really sick again.) I guess after fixing everything up for the week, I'll be seeing how much I can prepare to write during the week.
How about everyone else?
How Do You Celebrate Finishing A Story?
Whether long or short, how do you celebrate the completion of a project? I tend to start the next immediately. Less of a celebration and more how I work with my creativity if it is on a roll.
Does anyone out there like doing something special when they complete a fic?
Where Do You Connect With Your Fandom?
Or are you like me and (for the most part) don't?
I have one community which is on Discord I take part in on occasion. It's nice with the occasional fandom event, like my upcoming rarepair week. Yet I don't have a lot of places where I can talk about my preferences for my fandoms outside of the comments on my fics.
What Are You Reading/Writing This Weekend? (8/11)
I'm attempting to polish up the end of the current arc of my longfic. I like having a buffer for my weekly upload schedule! There are two more chapters to write and then I'm on to planning the next arc.
The other thing I'm doing is preparing for my other fandom's rarepair week. I have decided to use all three of the daily prompts as three separate stories--trying for 21 mini fics instead of 7 in total. I've written four of them and started another two. They are due by the beginning of September, so I can't slack off!
What's Something You Like to Write, But Not Read?
Or the other way around: something you like to read, but don't like to write? (Not that you struggle to write, but hate doing it at all. Even if you are good at it.)
I was pondering this question myself and hadn't come up with too many answers. Vague ideas, like how I don't like describing the environment, but I can enjoy a good descriptive passage in someone else's work. On the other hand, everything I like to write I like to read.
However, I know some people don't like reading other people's renditions of certain tropes. I'm interested in hearing about it.
I can't think of any genres or tropes off the top of my head which count for me, but I know there are some of those too!
Fanfic Summaries
I was pondering this earlier in the week. People have summaries they like and ones they will scroll past without considering the story at all.
I'm rather open with summaries. I think the only ones I dislike are either when there isn't one or when the words aren't actually a summary, but author's notes. I prefer those for after I've clicked on the story.
I've read in the past people want them to be snappy, but I was considering longer works. Complicated stories. In those cases, I prefer a few paragraphs to introduce the basics of characters and plots. On the other hand, if the story is short, a longer summary doesn't make sense.
What types of summaries do you like? Which ones do you like to write? Does anyone else think writing a summary is easier than coming up with the title of the fanfic, or is it just me?
Community Input on the Magazine
A couple updates!
Currently our microblog pulls in anything tagged with #fanfiction. Not even when it is posted, as everyone might have noticed the recent additions from much longer than a week ago. (This is a Kbin thing. I don't know how Lemmy or others see this.)
I have asked how to keep this from happening, but haven't gotten an answer yet. Kbin is new and I think for most magazines this isn't an issue.
The only way this becomes an issue is when the posts go against our rules. I prefer to ask people to change things, rather than just delete stuff. However, if people didn't post to here in the first place, it's just confusing for everyone.
Does it matter to you if the microblog does this?
The biggest issue so far are the few posts which go against the self-promotion rule. The reason we have this rule is because a lot of communities which allow for this tend to become people only posting about their own work and little response. **We coul
Magazine Accidentally Pulling In Posts
In the microblog, I had gotten a couple on topic, but against the rules posts. When asking the poster to fix what was against the rules, I found out they hadn't posted in the magazine at all.
I assume this is what should have happened if I had added anything in tags under the magazine panel. Considering one of the rules of the magazine is "no self-promotion", I decided it would be too much hassle to drag in content from the fediverse like that and left it blank. So this shouldn't have happened, I think.
Can anyone help me figure out how this came to pass?
