  • Aint nothing quite like paying a consultant hundreds of thousands to tell you you’re right and all your employees are wrong though. LLM doesnt have the same slicked back or gelled up hair appeal of a good ol fashioned consultant.

    But with ai unless the prompt asks for it how do you define intent at that point. If an agent decided to talk to another agent and they agree to fix prices but nobody asked them to do it then technically you can’t prove intent then and we’re all fucked. In the short term we might in the for some… interesting times

  • I say to my friends and colleagues that its a capitalist solution to capitalist problems. My neurodivergent ass needs it to translate blunt honesty into fluffy corporate speak and it works wonders. I also use it for my performance goals and all the other HR crap we have to do that benefits nobody.

    But yeah its a solution to a problem that never needed to exist.

  • My take has been if the format of game requires you to be a methylated 18 year old to play effectively its probably not a great format to try and apply to everything. Casual multiplayer used to exist for olds like me who are slow but they just seem to have vanished. Everything is ranked everything is dedicate your life to never ending meta learning i cant just fuken load into quake 3 arena, ut 2004 or battlefield 2 and just have fun anymore.

    My favourite one is getting penalised for leaving unranked matches like piss off i want to leave let me leave. Competitive games can exist but they cant be every single game

  • I like to think I have a decent radar for how well a game will do and I just dont think there’s much excitement for this one. It feels very Artifact to me honestly. That said I think Marathon will be a success somehow cos Bungie managed to psyop everyone into wanting the game somehow its had some pretty strong marketing the last few weeks.

    Deadlock could be a success if valve make a meet the heroes style thing like tf2 because when you give the characters proper personality the rest takes care of itself. Its the main thing all hero shooters miss is actually characterising the characters. Which is funny cos overwatch did it and it was all overwatch clones after all…

    Most people i know are pivoting to coop or singleplayer games. I feel like competitive has run its course for the time being. Some of the most dedicated esportsey people i know are playing story driven games now except for my brother who refuses to not play fighting games for 3 billion hours a day for some reason

  • I don’t really get why valve decided to compete with itself by making another moba like its pretty apparent there’s only space for two of them in the market. It could have been literally anything else. Its a shame because the characters and style are really cool and very creative. It feels like a lot of inspiration went into the game but I dont get why cos like did the team at valve actually want to make this?

    Like a company that owns a huge platform and already has a large number of infinitely monetisable forever games and gambling why do they feel the need to keep making more? They are the only dev team on earth with the capability to make anything they could dream of and they act like a studio under EA forced to make dead on arrival hero shooter number 752 called “we forgot why we are making these”
