My previous account was @dumblederp@aussie.zone I left it because Rowling has turned out to be a pretty shitty person and I don't want the association.

Mostly I'm just here for idle friendly conversation over shared interests.

I can get caught up in my own stubbornness on some topics.

  • I've had five bikes stolen. I've got an Kryptonite NYC mini which has done me well since. But my bike at the moment is shit looking, it's kinda just shit. I put all the nice parts from my busted carbon fibre racer onto an old apollo frame.

But totally, outrun the bear. Plus don't leave it locked anywhere outside overnight. In Melbourne that a guaranteed theft these days.

  • My DNA says British/Irish, my grandparents say Irish/Scottish and my passport says Australian.

  • I've been meaning to do my 8a, but I've got a bunch of stuff on there that I need to backup first. Signal history, steam auth, google auth, banking, aus government services. I've still got my failing Pixel5 so I think I'll try to backup to that then switch my 8a over to Graphene. I should've done it when I got the 8a but like I mentioned my 5 is failing.

  • To quote a friend "nothing's going to stop a drunk tradie with a cutting disk on their angle grinder".

  • I paid about 10/kg for gluten flour. 500g makes me about three dozen small "rashers" of bacon. I have two with an egg on toast.

I've looked for that pre made egg tofu but haven't been able to find it. I live in a pretty Vietnamese area and the shopkeepers know what I'm talking about but say they don't stock it.

I make a lot of stuff already. I feel that DIY tofu is too much of a time sink for me at the moment.

  • GGWP.

  • Oh yeah, "free range" is far from ideal in Australia. It usually means they live in a pit rather than cages.

Chickpea scramble sound interesting, I'll look into that.

  • Silky or soft tofu goes the same. It's somewhere between 2-3x the price, which is relevant for me. I just got a dozen 600g free range eggs for $3. A block of firm tofu is $2.80, I eat half a block most days already.

  • I dismantled it and rebuilt it.

  • Seeing whole chooks at Aldi in Australia for $7 was a huge factor in me going vegetarian. No way can an animal have a good life then be processed and sold for $7.

I still eat free range eggs, I haven't quite found a decent substitute. Silky tofu scramble is about three times the price near me.

  • Lol, the ethics of piracy.

It depends on your connection, country, ability to seed and probably a few other things I'm not thinking of.

I squatted for a while with 40gb per month on my mobile, I didn't seed shit.

I rented a seedbox for a few years and seeded some things into the thousands ratio.

Plenty of people use Streamio which is straight leeching.

Do what you can. The higher the ratio the better.

I feel that if something has taken weeks/months to download I try to seed that for a while. If something is super popular its got enough support that I'm not making any difference.

  • e-bikes and e-motos are great and we need legislation to allow their use.

I can buy a 1000cc motor bike, I'm licensed to ride it, I should be able to buy a 3kw ebike and have some laws to follow which allow for its use.

  • Off topic. One of my internet dating profile lines was about if someone lists they like hiking but haven't been in the last few months that they just like saying they like hiking. Have fun on yer hike.

The coils are like $7 for 30, so pretty cheap.

  • Didn't fire a single bullet at people. Popped a few smoke grenades.

  • I watch most stuff on an old surface4 laptop/tablet. Haven't had a big TV in years. Pc has 2x 27" Monitors but they're for gaming, work and schooling.

  • What happened to Somalia? I dunno their Facebook accounts say everything's fine...

  • That's the whole reason I bought the game. Then I got pvp'd a dozen times over two days without ever firing a shot back.

  • An old soft drink bottle makes a good enough sharps container. I've had a few official ones for work over the years.

  • I prefer the incense coils over mozzie nets or deet FWIW.

  • Comrade pls.
