My previous account was @dumblederp@aussie.zone I left it because Rowling has turned out to be a pretty shitty person and I don't want the association.

Mostly I'm just here for idle friendly conversation over shared interests.

I can get caught up in my own stubbornness on some topics.

  • As soon as they're not in power, nothing that happened was their fault.

  • I use it to make tofu taste eggy for tofu scramble.

  • Is the black salt, kala namak? aka eggy salt, it has sulphur in it. It might be supposed to smell like that.

  • In Australia alcohol is heavily taxed whereas illegal disposable vapes are easily available.

  • I expect we'll probably see emulation instead.

  • I still haven't gotten around to playing GTA5 or RDR2, and I own them on PC.

  • Semaglutide has been prescribed to diabetics for 20+ years now. Asking for the horror stories is probably unreasonable fear mongering. So many topics have horror stories, which if followed directly, would indicate staying away from the thing. Unless it's an unusually high percentage of people experiencing negative effects it's mostly medical denialism, eg anti Vaxxers, to focus on the slim chance of problems. I've had two surgeries in the last two years, one of the side effects was death, people do die during surgery, I'm fine. I'm still recovering but I'm getting there.

  • Don't forget "We'll fix the housing crisis" but owns six+ houses.

  • Can we find a word other than "elite"? I really don't feel they're elite, privileged billionaires, money dictators, Epstein class, rich evil cunts, I'm not sure just not elite.

  • While I agree, cops will often only deal with one person at a time.

  • So... limits for cars and motor bikes too :P . Ridiculous I can go buy a 1000+cc road bike that I'm licensed for.

  • While my Melbourneness says black, red for Autumn seems appropriate.

  • There's an old Scottish tradition of pouring a batch of porridge in a drawer then slicing off a piece as required, sometimes to be fried.

  • 80s & 90s it was great but there's so many more modern cake places now those old shops on Ackland lost their popularity years ago. I had my first borscht at Sherezade many years ago.

  • No one's expecting you to do well. Looking in, everything about your current state of mind seems normal. You've been hit with a bunch of major negative life impacts and are experiencing the trauma of that.

  • In Australia the right (gov + media) are blaming immigrants for our problems. If they get in power, they're gonna turbo charge immigration. They're blaming our Labor government for the housing crisis while many of the Right Wing pollies have a massive housing investment portfolio.

  • It's nicer during the day but it's always been sketchy, at least since the 80s. I've never known Fitzroy St to not be mostly a shithole and have only gone there for Prince Bandroom shows. These days the Espy is just another rip off pub. Getting some take away and a six pack from Ackland St to share on the beach around dusk would be my premium St Kilda experience.

  • Ohh, I have a wee toaster oven that I love. Where'd'ja the tin?

  • I reckon the Terminus has been mid for ten years now.
