Oh damn, I was thinking of the scene where Homer is laying in bed, facing away from Marge and just going to sleep when Marge is trying to say she needs a vacation. Mixed the two up, this is Streetcar named Desire, Homer wasn't interested in the play since there was no bowling in it, as someone else said.
S03E05 Homer Alone?
Well, not specifically because I want to make them feel included, it is to stimulate them and satisfy their curiosity. Also helps skittish cats and dogs to gain confidence by introducing them to new smells constantly in a safe way.
Smells are way more important to both cats and dogs than humans, and more than most people realize. Example: I see a lot of people around walk their dogs and not letting them sniff properly but just tug them along, thinking that the physical exercise and waste management are the sole purpose of walks.
We have a retired hunting dog, turned 11 on Sunday actually, and she's still ridiculously hard to tire by physical exercise. The only way to get her proper tired is mental stimulation. Sniffing is a big part of that. 30min calm patient walk is way better than 60min of "COME OON" -hurried impatient walk.
Disclaimer: not all dogs etc., but... most dogs.

So can you work or not? I'm confused.

So which one of these pretty standard ingredients is the secret ingredient?
I did not know this exists! I will be using this at least weekly from now on. Thank you!
Got a non-spotify link? Love me some synthwave.
I did in the end end up painting it a nice blue colour with a rust protect metallic paint. First layer looked awful, second layer looked quite nice already, but I'm gonna add a third one today. The paint can recommended 3 layers for proper rust proof, so that's what I'm going by.
Why would you remind me of this on a Monday morning. Haven't I suffered enough :(
In all seriousness, great episode, definitely still makes me sad every time even when I know it's coming. Unpopular opinion, I think Futurama was on par with the best Simpsons seasons, and way better than most Simpsons seasons.
I am sincerely apologetic of posting content that you found not to be dull enough. I will try to be better in the future. Tool restoration indeed is interesting, but I thought merely soaking a tool in deruster for days would be dull enough :(
I will keep this advice in mind the next time I need to derust something. Thank you very much. Bought a house from the 80's from a family of the previous owner, and they left a whole bunch of potentially good tools and other stuff in there.
A badly maintained, clogged, greasy electric chainsaw is on my list of things to open up, clean and lube up as well. Looking forward to that. As a mainly electronics guy, I only very recently started doing simple mechanical repairs. Opened up a fan that had a hard time turning, found out there were no bearings, just a rod acting as the iron core inside a DC motor. Disassembled, applied generous amounts of acetone to relevant parts, dried it up and greased it up. Worked like a charm afterwards, and didn't even lose any screws.
After some research, apparently my local auto store does sell a store brand rust removal gel. As a bonus, in my local language it's apparently called "Rust eater".
Hmm, looks like it's the US spelling for a gripping tool, whereas UK uses vice for both a personal failing or a bad habit, and a gripping tool. I'm most familiar with US spelling since I learned most of my English from video games and TV shows as wee lad.
I checked the biggest retailers in my neck of the woods, doesn't look like any of them sell it.
Not native English speaker, so I checked the dictionary first, and saw that vise is an accepted alternative spelling. Might not be that common apparently.
I did not want anyone to think I was derusting my personal failings.

I derusted a vise left by the previous tenant of the house
I had no free buckets to hold the derusting solution in that the vise would fit comfortably, so I had to use a plastic box that was too wide. It would not submerge fully in the 1 Liter of derusting solution I bought, I had to soak one side for 24 hours and then the other side for 24 hours. It mostly cleared the rust. I'm considering painting it now, but I don't think I'm going to.
Dogget at least has some character development, doesn't hold a candle to Mulder though and definitely not saying he's a good character, but what really got me was the Agent NoPersonality, Monica Reyes. (I had to look up her name) She doesn't do anything, she doesn't have any kind of development, she doesn't add anything and she's just so boring and cookiecutter. No chemistry with Dogget either. I had actually forgotten she exists until I rewatched the entire series recently.
I am considering framing this comment. Never have I gotten such a compliment.

I optimized our extension cords yesterday
I noticed that some of the extension cords around the house constantly had empty sockets or their cord was coiled up since it was far too long. Some others had cords constantly being swapped, or the cord was too short and it was laying on the floor, getting dry humped by the robot vacuum.
I took inventory of all the extension cords in the house, mapped their expected required length and socket amounts and swapped them around until I had one that was too long, and one unused socket.
I also have one spare long 3-socket one, since there was one outlet that had one un-used socket, and there were only 2 required, so I could remove the 3-socket long cord extension cord completely.
I haven't been this happy since I bought a gutter cleaner tool with an extendable handle, so I don't need to climb on the roof or on a ladder to clean the gutters.
Yes. Thank you for noticing.
I mean, that's what makes it fun? Do you play games without rules too? In my mind, it's not worth much thought if there's no rules to it. Otherwise you could just say "I will go into the future where they've invented how to become a god and then come back with my godlike powers and do whatever I want."
it's the wishing-for-more-wishes kind of boring thing to do. Boundaries and restrictions breed creativity. That's what's fun for me.
Come on, can't ask this kind of question without giving us the rules.
Paradox free? Does the future change? Do I go as my current self or is age adjusted? Do I keep my current knowledge and memories and skills? Do I get to go back? Do I get multiple tries to get the optimal outcome?
So many variables with these kinds of hypotheticals, I can't give you any meaningful answer without general outlines of the rules. Can't play the game if I don't know the rules.
