Gave My earbud case the Grandpa treatment
Had some color left and had to change the battery anyway.
Looking for switch with same footprint but vertical.
Hey guys, I have a sofle v4 from 42.keebs which uses this switch on the inner side to switch it on / off when using the battery. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32406053825.html I am currently building a 3d printed case which is made for a regular v2 so the switch does not fit. Do you guys know a vertical switch with the same footprint or do I have to use bodge wires?
Is it really that bad? Had manjaro as daily driver for about 4 years and the only time I broke was when I tried dangerous stuff xD. The main argument I keep hearing, is the they had invalid certs on their site. Is there anything else? Back ten it seemed like a great ateway into arch. Not using arch BTW. :-P
Looking on advice on how to print this case
I would love to print this case for my Sofle v2 keyboard. Since I don't own a 3D printer (... yet) I would like to do this by using an online printing service like PCBWay. Before I order, I do have some questions, since I have never printed anything.
- What percentage of infill do you folks suggest? I was thinking 100% would be most stable.
- Would PLA be a good material? I was thinking on filling and sanding it.
- the project only has the parts for one side. Is there an easy way to mirror everything ?
- Do you guys know a good printing service in Tokyo?

Waistline is pretty good.
Its a 404 to me. But the app is easily findable by searching the name from the URL in f-droid
'Clair de Lune' by Debussy
Did you want to post a link, or are you looking for a Document Scanner with OCR?
Yup got some Lora32s for hiking trips. Works great. They work out of the box, but you'll have to get some lipos and print a case.

Is the Orange Pi 5 overkill for my needs?
Hi folks. Currently thinking of buying a new SBC since my Odroid HC4 died i am looking to buy a new sbc as my home Server. I would be mainly running portainer with the following apps:
- pihole
- wallabag
- conduit
- revolt ( optional)
- grocy (optional have to try first )
- wireguard
The orange pi 5 with 8gb RAM seemed like a good choice, but the 4 or even 3B models are even a bit cheaper. What do you guys think. Should I go for a prior gen or even a different SBC entirely?
Love my retrode 2 but this one looks awesome.

There is a really cool looking diy one using a ESP32. You would need a server to go with it though. But using your own small HA server would give you way more control about storage / encryption.
Thanks for the tip!
Looking for resources on scanning textures
Looking for good resources on scanning mostly flat textures. Tried to use a photograph of a tatami mat and had a lot of problems with the lens distortion. I don't own any professional photo equipment so I have to use my Pixel 6 camera. I have a couple of Ideas but I'm not really sure how to tackle the problem. Using a 3d scan app / photogrametry could be an option, but I have yet to find a fitting application. Another approach could be using a handheld scanner, but the surface has to be relatively flat. A brick wall for example would be problematic.
What is your folks workflow for capturing textures?
Damn I get chills even seeing the thumbnail.
Ah I guess you are right about the regular 2nd street shops. The one I've had in mind was a 2nd street x something, so the video games could be there because of the other shop. I envy you for the country side part. Currently living semi rural, but as soon as my company enables me 100% remote I would love to move.
Never heard of it. Looks awesome. I'll give it a try.
Is there a more low power alternative?
Attiny85 the right choice for 24h led timer?
My wife gifted me this super cute mini miffy diorama from a gachapon. It uses two 1,5V cells and has a tiny led in it. I would really love to to add a 24h timer. ( it should stay on for 4 hours after turning it on then go to "standby" for 20h before turning back on) Do you guys think an attiny85 is the right thing for the job? Sorry of the question is dumb in any way. I am absolutely not an electronics guy.
Aw dang. Never thought about my provider not allowing to use my own sfp fiber module :-( But I think you've got a point. Specially since its a Japanese provider and I don't think its worth the hassle. Mhh now I don't even know if I should go the banana Pi route, since there maybe are some better choices without sfp slot.
I love Tom Scott, but I think this tradition is kind of awful.
Should I wait for the BPI R4 ?
Currently looking for a router with the following points
- sfp ports for fiber connection (we have fiber internet)
- should be possible to use a wireguard on the router, since would like to use for our smart tv.
- would like to run some small containers (pihole and maybe some network scanner)
The R3 looks pretty cool specially, since WiFi is built in and there are deals with case and antennas. I don't know of 2gb of RAM would be sufficient to run openwrt + some containers.
The New R4 will have double the RAM, but at least on first glance it looks, like a WiFi extension has to be bought. Also I guess it will me more expensive.
What do you folks think? Should I wait for the R4 or buy one of those package deals including antennas and metal?
Bonus Question: what sfp modules do you use for fiber connection?

Used both and really love both.
If you really want to buy some retro games, skip super potato. Its a cool store to browse, but prices are inflated quite a bit since its a goto spot for tourists. Go checkout Hard- /Bookoff, 2nd Street or one of the many second hand shops.
Really loved playing the main game.
This house I found in kawasaki
For some reason it gives me massive Kong studios vibes. I really love the extensive use of plants.
What printer do you use?
As the title says: I was thinking about getting into 3d printing for a long time now. The main thing I can think of when it comes to reasons for printing is keyboard building. Do you folks have any recommendations for a good entry-level printer that is able to print for example a Charybdis? Luckily I really like split keyboard which should reduce the needed print area.
