What caused Gavin's doubts:

• Disillusionment with popular Evangelicalism and some of its leaders

What renewed Gavin's confidence:

• The integrity and historicity of the gospels
• Cosmological, design and moral arguments for God
• The compelling person of Jesus Christ
• The evidence for the resurrection of Jesus
• The personal experience of God's faithful guidance

The idea is often endorsed that the gospels are mythical or legendary traditions which developed many years and miles from the stories they report. Or that the four gospels are only a few among many other gospels that were rejected for no good reason. This video gives a starting place for showing these views are not compatible with the evidence. The four gospels stand far apart from their peers by an exceptional and verifiable inclusion of specialised knowledge that was local and contemporary to the reported events.

Is it possible to get a spell checker on lemmy? It's a little frustrating having to edit posts and comments to correct my horrndous typos.

Hello folks, I noticed today that a community banner was rendered differently on two instances (vlemmy.net vs lemm.ee).

Inspecting the source, the image is 600x200px.

On vlemmy.net, the banner was rendered as 736x240px. On the community page on lemm.ee, it was rendered as 831x240px.

Neither was the correct aspect ratio, and part of the banner was cut off on the lemm.ee instance.

Do lemmy instances have complete freedom to format the banner in whatever way they want!?

What's the recieved wisdom for dealing with this unpredicatable behaviour? Is there a "safe" way to design a banner to deal with these differences?

Have you come across "Ready to Harvest" on youtube? I really appreciate Joshua's commitmement to expressing a neutral point of view and I find his overviews of various denominations and groups are tremendously helpful.

Hey all, I'm new here. Never created a community back on reddit, but seeing as everything is still a bit barren here, I wanted to create some.

But I'm finding the "create" button turns into an endless loading icon and that I can't seem to create a community. Tried yesterday and today. Any thoughts on why?
