What a Gator Bowl..good game Kentucky! Proud of my Tigers. Good luck to everyone else on their bowl games!
Clemson men's soccer knock out Notre Dame to win College Cup championship
Hang the banner! Congrats to the Clemson Men’s Soccer team, another Natty in a sport called football (by some). Go Tigers!
ESPN has the same order I do in my head, best teams over most deserving. Michigan and Washington are both tied at 1 for me but Michigan was ranked higher previously so I’m giving them the edge. Would’ve been way more interesting/controversial if Jordan Travis was still healthy and FSU dominated Louisville. We really might not have had an SEC team in the playoff for the first time ever.
Michigan
Washington
Texas
Alabama
For Clemson, it’s looking like the Holiday Bowl against either Oregon State or USC. I’m fine with either school. The matchup against DJU would’ve been an interesting one and the Riley Bowl matchup would be fun. Never played the Beavers before but we’d have a chance to avenge our lone loss to the Trojans back in checks notes 1966.
Good luck to everyone, may the Bowls be ever in your favor!
I, also, would like to see FSU lose. Go toothed birds!
Rooting for Alabama to win yet another SEC Championship just so that Georgia finally loses a game and I don’t feel good about it 🤢

Mississippi State fires Zach Arnett: Bulldogs part with coach less than one season after replacing Mike Leach
Mississippi State relieved head football coach Zach Arnett of his duties Monday morning. Arnett compiled a 4-6 record (1-6 SEC) in the 2023 season through 10 games in his first year as full-time coach. Senior offensive analyst Greg Knox will serve as Mississippi State interim coach through the final two games of the season, according to ESPN.
Arnett was elevated from defensive coordinator to interim coach in 2022 following the untimely death of the legendary Mike Leach. After leading the team to an emotional victory in the ReliaQuest Bowl, the administration decided to promote Arnett to full-time coach during the offseason in lieu of conducting a national search for Leach's replacement.
The move to fire Arnett comes on the heels of a 51-10 loss for Mississippi State to Texas A&M in Week 11. Ironically, Arnett is not the first coach to be fired amid the fallout from that game. On Sunday, Texas A&M made the move to fire Jimbo Fisher despite the convincing win for the

I think you are the first!
Don’t worry Aggie bros, you will always have the 20-- National Championship. No one can take that away from you.
I know this is going to be overshadowed by Jimbo Fisher being fired but it still felt notable.
Penn State fires offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich following loss to Michigan
Penn State ranks No. 102 nationally in yards per play and No. 130 out of 133 FBS teams in plays of 20-plus yards.
PSU head coach James Franklin announced Sunday that he fired offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich, who was in his third season in the role. The move comes a day after PSU lost 24-15 at home to Michigan and put up just 238 yards of offense, 75 of which came in a final-minute scoring drive when the outcome was already decided.
With Yurcich out of the picture, running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider and tight ends coach Ty Howle will share interim offensive coordinator duties for the remainder of the season.
“We thank Mike for his contributions over the last three years but feel it is in our program’s best interest to make a change at this time. We wish him and his family nothing but the best in the future,” Franklin said.

I don’t know what you mean. I, for one, am excited to bring back the historic Atlantic Coast rivalry that is Louisville v. [checks notes] Stanford. Battle of the Cardinals!
(Who will win, a toothed bird or a color?)
If I had a nickel for every time one of my main teams got hit with a phantom holding call today, I’d have two nickels.
These night games are starting to take a toll on me.
I’m with you on this. Glad that most of our games have been during daylight hours this season.
Also, go orange team! I’m really hoping you guys beat NC State.
I’m surprised you haven’t faded your most-hated rival in the banner yet 😂
Also congrats to the orange team!
Go Roadrunners! Meep Meep!
Good game Irish. Go Tigers!
Sorry for the late response but no, I was not a Jags fan before TLaw and ETN. I didn’t pay attention to the NFL before the 2017 season. My childhood team that I didn’t really follow until recently was the Raiders so them and the Jags are my two NFL teams. I am much more invested in college football though.
Lmao, imagine losing a game you were supposed to win…
😬 I’m feeling personally attacked

Sorry for the late post, I was out of town and away from my computer for the last few days.
This week saw the fall of several /c/CFB ranked teams, including both Los Angeles teams. I didn't have time to keep up with many of the games so I won't do a full write-up but I will list which teams lost, almost lost, or won their games.

2023 Week 5 Game Results
This week had some upsets but no one in the Top 10 fell. Notably, 11 Utah, 15 Duke, 18 LSU, and 20 Kansas lost their match-ups. Of those, only 11 Utah and 18 LSU were favored to win. Florida was the only team ranked in the AP Poll but unranked on /c/CFB who lost their game, although they were not favored to win anyways.
As for our Top 10 teams, 1 Texas, 2 Michigan, 6 Penn State, 8 Oregon, and 10 Oklahoma all dominated their opponents. 5 Washington and 9 USC won by one touchdown each, but these games were not as close as the final scores indicate and neither team had less than a 94% chance to win in the entire fourth quarter (according to ESPN). 7 Georgia was tied with less than three minutes to go in the fourth quarter before scoring the game-winning touchdown against Auburn. 3 Florida State and 4 Ohio State did not play this week.
