  • Maybe checking out Secureblue would be something to consider?

  • Are you me?

I sent the blog post to a friend hoping he would finally get to try it out, cause we've been talking about this for way too long now.

Would also love to hear opinions.

  • Sorry to hear you had trouble with the installation. Since we have such a vast variety of hardware, you will always find a person having trouble with a specific distro I believe. That's why having so many to choose from is awesome - but also a bit daunting at the start. Glad it's working now, hope it stays that way.

  • I remember you asking about what distro to pick, what a wonderful follow-up post. Thank you so much for sharing this.

  • Thanks for the explanation! I agree, this has been very helpful already. Now I go and do some reading on it.

  • Oh I see, thanks. I thought you could also edit images with Inkscape. I'm apparently not very well versed in these topics.

  • Curious why you would need Gimp and Inkscape? Wouldn't one of them be enough? Is one of them better suited for certain tasks?

Turning the Tables: How to Make Spammers Reveal Their Own IP Address

  • Some others on ProtonDB are reporting this. For me switching to an older version (7.0-6) worked fine.

  • EA App works great with Bottles. I haven't tried Ubisoft Connect myself, but the website says it works on a "gold" level - so might have some problems.

You can use the Bottles installers for that: https://docs.usebottles.com/bottles/installers Here's the list of all apps they have preconfigured: https://usebottles.com/appstore/

  • Well, these launchers can be a bit confusing at first, but you will get used to all that. And if you still have questions, that's what the community is here for.

  • You can select GE-Proton in Heroic under "Wine Manager".

Most games simply work for me in Heroic but sometimes I have to try a few versions until it's working properly.

    Celestia - 3D interactive planetarium

I have discovered this app and can't stop exploring ever since. You start at earth which is beautiful to observe with its night and day-cycle, but then you can click almost any celestial object and go there and learn more about it. I find it very educational but also mind-blowing.

On my first "trip" I tried to find my way back to earth. Well, let's say, I'm still somewhere out there, very, very far away...

  • Both are based on Fedora but the main difference is that Bazzite is immutable, while Nobara is not. What you prefer, is highly subjective.

If your question is aimed at performance, I have no hard data on that and it will depend on your hardware of course, but they are probably quite similar, since the base is the same.

  • Great picture! I might use that as my new phone wallpaper, if that's ok with you.

  • Not sure what's going on, checked the settings? There's also a link to their Github with the .json file: https://github.com/AreWeAntiCheatYet/AreWeAntiCheatYet

  • That's not too hard a question for me, I've been using the same DE for years: KDE

  • On Mint it's highly recommended to install the .deb file directly from the Steam Page. There's dozens of posts about this on the official forums if you are interested in the reasons.

  • Such Master Oogway vibes!

Display up/downvote count in Firefox (solved)

Thank you for this beautiful app!

I have a minor issue I cannot seem to resolve - the upvote/downvote count vanishes immediately after reloading the page. I am using Librewolf (that is based on Firefox) and I have tried to disable uBlock Origin entirely but I can't get it to display correctly. Anyone else ran into this and found a solution? Thanks!

Image attached how it looks for me.

EDIT: Thank you for the responses, I'm not entirely sure what I did, but now it's working as intended. I'm very happy about that because Photon rocks!

    Lemmy keeps logging me out

I have an account on lemmy.ml and two days ago it started logging me out of the website whenever I close the browser tab or browser. This behaviour does not occur on other websites where I choose to stay logged in. So my browser functionality is working as intended.

Has anything changed on Lemmy, cause it used to work for years? Anything I can do?
