  • Exactly. In my opinion the best hope for the US is that the democrats fix their party in some amount via primaries, then win next election with a strong majority and immediately reform the electoral system to something better which allows for more parties.

  • I was also taught this in school, along with many very unscientific things. When they eventually taught us about evolution (they had to because of national curriculum) they couldn't stop stressing how it was "just an outdated theory" and showed us additional videos which "disproved" it

  • If you think they would be the consequence of banning and removing guns from society, you can test this theory by looking at any country which has already done this. What you find is that gun violence is extremely minimal in these countries. So turns out your worries are over nothing!

  • I mean people have fun with many things which are dangerous. Fireworks are dangerous, rock climbing is dangerous, driving is dangerous.

I'm strongly anti-gun, but I'm willing to admit they are fun.

  • Well then this is a poor choice of meme template, which is probably why this post is turning out to be so divisive. This meme format is used to mock a series of increasingly ridiculous statements/beliefs/actions. Here, the final and therefore most ridiculous statement is simply "there is a male loneliness epidemic". If the intention was not to mock this statement, and supposed to mock people who blame the epidemic for their problems, there are many ways it could have been worded to be clear about that, but currently it reads to me (and clearly many people) as direct mockery of male loneliness.

  • The problem is the format of the meme implies that the last panel is invalid, and that the conclusion "there is a male loneliness epidemic" is something only women hating clowns believe.

I guarantee if the last panel was stated like "why won't women date me" or "I'm lonely" or even "I'm only single because of the male loneliness epidemic" then there wouldn't be nearly as much backlash in the comments

  • It also is more than a male loneliness problem. There has been a fundamental shift in society in the last decade or so, as we get more connected online we seem to be becoming less connected offline.

  • It is using male loneliness as the punchline of the joke. If it is meant as "the male loneliness epidemic is the only reason I'm single" then I have no problem with that, but currently it reads as if the loneliness epidemic is an invention of incels
