And when they figure out whose idea it was ... Plus, proper vetting is good, and, we're excited to build 47 million new homes.
An ultrasound tech once told me that I have a cute spleen.
So... the dishes were important enough for your partner to berate you about them multiple times, but not important enough for them to do the washing-up while you were out? Are they always your responsibility? Did you have a mutual conversation and understanding about chore division, or has your partner implicitly or explicitly assigned certain chores to you?
What measures of responsibility does your partner take for their own sleep? Sleep mask? Ear plugs? White noise? Weighted blanket? Other measures? Or is it all on you to accommodate them?
Would offering to sleep on the couch if you come home after they're asleep feel like a reasonable compromise for you?
Does having a curfew set for you by your partner seem like a normal thing to you? Are you surprised that people here think it's not normal?
Does your partner regularly use belittling or derogatory language towards you as you've detailed here? Does it feel to you that using such language is justified by your ADHD?
Does this situation seem like a one-off thing, or is it often a problem that you have not read your partner's mind?
I think you've got some important questions to ask yourself here.
I only see one Wayoun...
I use only the flowers. Here's a picture of them mid-processing.
Every time I head to the second-hand store I pick up a couple new CDs and DVDs. It's great! I'm paying max $3.99 apiece and I'll own them forever.
It's hard to describe tastes without relation to other tastes -- I'd say it's similar to chamomile, but somewhat greener/grassier. It tastes like early spring. With a little bit of sugar it's very nice!
Backyard foraging: Dandelion flowers for tea
I don't have a lot of experience with foraging but since we have so many dandelions this seemed like an easy way to start! They're laid out on a clean sheet to dry in the sun (it'll hit them in about an hour and stay on them just about until sunset).

I get a lot of use out of glass screen protectors. I'm quite clumsy and they've saved my screen many times! I've used a couple of different brands and they sometimes take more than one try for me to line up correctly, but $10 and a few minutes of mild annoyance is a very small price to pay compared to replacing a whole phone screen.
It's opportunity costs all the way down, baby!
Heat to 69 in the winter, cool to 74-76 in the summer.
What did they censor? The b word?
Specifically, as Brunt, right?
Yes, because if you don't do it every time, eventually you'll forget when it really matters.
It also provides clarity to other drivers. People do dumb things in cars. If someone's in the turning lane ahead of me without their signal, there's part of me that's watching to see if they're confused and about to do something foolish. Signals = clear intentions = peace of mind.
Bathing my children, obviously.
But like... why a toilet? You could use the baking soda and vinegar in a bowl just as easily.
It feels like this is an elaborate troll. Are they hoping people will accidentally clog their toilets with eggs?
I honestly can’t imagine a better Lizzy than Keira Knightley 🥲
Jennifer Ehle would like to have a word with you.
Honestly I find all of the covid years kind of hard to remember, and I know a lot of people who feel the same. I bet that Trump 1 mostly gets wrapped up and suppressed with all the rest of the general trauma.
I still just keep a paper log in my notebook. It's been working for me since 2013 so no reason to switch now!
Thanks! Slowly but surely :)
I found the website: https://ptlawnseed.com/products/fleur-de-lawn?variant=141703872
It looks like it's made in Oregon and inspired by the flowers of New England. That would probably mean most suitable for zones 5-8 or so.
Here is a Canadian mix that says it's suitable down to zone 3: https://ohcanadaseeds.ca/products/canadian-wildflower-seed-mix-19-annual-perennial-varieties-for-planting-in-canada
Same for this one: https://www.westcoastseeds.com/products/alternative-lawn-wildflower-mix
Zone 2 might be trickier to find.

I many cases, no. Where I live, a 16-year-old cannot:
- vote
- enlist in the armed forces
- sign legally binding contracts
- legally purchase alcohol, tobacco products, or cannabis
- buy lottery tickets or gamble at a casino
- serve on a jury
- buy or sell property
- marry
- inherit money or property
- own a credit card
- fully control their own medical decisions
- register as an organ donor
- quit school
- get a tattoo or a body piercing
- move out of their parents' house
Some of these things can be done with parental consent or if particular circumstances apply (such as if the child in question is legally emancipated). But broadly speaking, there are a LOT of rights, responsibilities, and options that do not apply to anyone before the age of majority (18 here).
"Hello, friends, and welcome back to our weekly Bullshit Bulletin. If you don’t remember it from the last election, the Bullshit Bulletin is something we’ll be publishing once a week at ReadTheLine.ca. We’ll recap a bunch of things we heard during the campaign that week that were bullshit. We don’t mean partisan spin or things we just disagree with. We mean things that are either flatly untrue or torqued to the point where truth loses all meaning. We’ll also include room for conduct that may not fail a lie detector test but is, well, egregious bullshit.

It's almost National/Global Poetry Writing Month!
Every April, poets around the world set themselves a challenge: to write one poem a day for all thirty days of the month. I've participated three or four times now, and though I don't usually manage to do all thirty, I've found it a really fruitful practice & have published a number of pieces that started as NaPoWriMo drafts.
For anyone interested, here are some helpful resources:
- https://www.napowrimo.net/ (daily writing prompts)
- https://writers.com/napowrimo-prompts-for-national-poetry-month#prompts (daily prompts; info and tips if you scroll up)
- https://www.everypoet.org/pffa/forumdisplay.php?105-NaPoWriMo-2025 (poetry forum: lots of camaraderie and encouragement. Site is not very mobile-friendly.)
I'd love to hear if anyone else has participated before -- and if you haven't, why not make this the year you give it a go?

Has anyone tried a "buy Canadian" app?
I ran across this post on the CBC that names a few apps to help people find Canadian products: https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/buying-canadian-shopping-apps-barcode-scanners-1.7463039
- Shop Canadian
- Buy Beaver
- O SCANada
- Maple Scan
I'm curious if anyone has tried any of these and how useful (or not!) you've found them.

"With so much interest in buying small Canadian companies, I figured I would share her products as an alternative. Your support would change her life. All products have a maple leaf!"
The response was immediate and enormous, she says, with order requests through her website increasing by almost 4,000 per cent, according to Williams.
