Plato with the beat box.
Disney used to run ads for their other shows on Disney channel, no non-Disney things, but they were still interspersed, that was a child formed in my brain what an ad was to be "anything that delays the content is an ad". Pedantically FBI warnings and producer logos are ads.
Strange, outside of the CBS logo before Paramount Plus things start on Amazon (I hate every noun in that sentence progressively more) I haven't had an ad in almost a year (from that same subsection of that same platform). Apple put some ads up for other shows of theirs, but made them skippable.
Twitch is probably the worst for ads, I sometimes have to watch one.
As a child of Saturday morning cartoons, ads today aren't 2% as bad as what we used to endure, and on demand shows (you can watch a series even if your missed the first episode, instead of waiting for the season recap, or entire season re run before the finale), and the ability to watch, and pause, damn near anything, makes the experience at least 50x better, so I'd say we're about 2000% better off than I remember us being.
Should be on patient gamers as well.
But I'm not holding my breath. Also if this person had any connection with valve they probably don't any more.
Man, can't wait to hear them explain how this is pro "states rights"
I remember thinking how much like Russia it would be to try to damage an American companies reputation, especially one that is providing support for their enemy....
It's already happening....

Arrest the judges, pardon the con artists
I tried to address that by 1) having the silent protagonist option where the story unfolds as it would without the flourish before the canned response so now it's only 3x as much, and 2) all of the response dialog is the same because they were going to reply the same way as they would to the good or bad option anyways.
This will triple the amount of PC options that need to be "written" but the rest of the writing (NPC dialog) doesn't have to change at all, and that's where most of the writing goes anyways.
Detroit's "agrihood"
It certainly isn't 1280 acres XD
I wonder if they could fix that by having 4 options that align with whatever archetype you've selected.
Then you don't need "ridiculously good" "meh" "ridiculously evil" ".... Just continue the story" options
Pick if you want to play ridiculously good, meh, or ridiculously evil at the start of the game, or if you want to be a passive observer. They'd have to write 3x more player dialogue, but that's really not that much (have the responses barely change, you know they barely change anyways)
They don't have the creativity or the engine capability to recreate morrowind unfortunately.
I'd love to be proven wrong. But I won't. I don't want Morrowind in the Skyrim engine. I want to fly.
So you have an axe to grind because of another sports success?
Or are you here "just asking questions"
The sheets of paper are getting filled in minutes before they're announced,
The teams can trade their picks between each other,
It's not known what teams are going to take what players, if my team (4) thinks team 1 is going to take player A, and team 2 isn't interested in that player but team 3 is, if team 1 takes player b instead my team might talk with team 2 about trading draft pick positions so we can get that player.
There's a lot of talking between a lot of professionals representing a lot of teams, the whole situation is very fluid, and it might change the course of your franchise (unless you're the Jets)
It's also 3 days of spectacle.
If there's a single issue the left can get behind this its school shootings, and apparently we can't.
I can't believe this coward is in charge again.
Republicans what the fuck?
The draft is being held in your state this year, it's the first time as far as I can recall, they want to make a good show of it so it might return some day.
But CBS News is literally where the content is from???
Reddit is just another aggregator, and I won't understand why people still use it.
That's amazing, I didn't realize that I absolutely had an indescribable affinity for cold water until I read that, I would carry 2 double walled thermos full of ice to refill 5-6 times per day each, before I figured out what was going on.
Now I'm back to 1-2 liters of room temperature water per day, I miss the desire to drink more water, but it was killing me peeing once an hour, even at night.
Taskmaster season 19 (episode 1) May 2nd on YouTube!
It doesn't announce the date in the video, but in the description. The video is more teasing goodness.
I hope they'll do constant interviews soon
What kind of car was I following?
Not the Tesla, the car in front of it, it's got a very unique tail light array, I'm thinking it's one of the new smaller ev producers, but maybe it's something Japanese with a less common trim package?
Thanks for the assist, I'm quite infatuated with it's styling.
I believe the badge was red, and there are 5 letters beneath it (so not Jaguar)
Bought ravenswatch for 12.50, questioned why when I have so many humble bundle games
I've been a subscriber to humble choice since day 1.
I went back through the last 2 years of bundles (average about 1.5 activations per month) and added games to my account.
Next time I get the urge to buy something "because it's on sale" I'll go back and add things I've already paid for.

Question: how do we know where (what direction, orientation, velocity) neutrinos come from?
I've seen a few articles about neutrinos recently, high energy ones, super fast ones, ones from open space, others from "sources", and my understanding of the particle is that it's very hard to detect, passes through light-years of lead without interaction, etc. don't headings and speed require multiple readings to make? How do we know the velocity of a neutrino when we can only detect them at single points?
Rubin Observatory changes biography of astronomer Vera Rubin in a push to end "DEI" efforts
"The idea that they can somehow obliterate these sources is dead wrong — scientists in general and astronomers in particular are not going to take these threats lying down."
""Vera Rubin offers an excellent example of what can happen when more minds participate in science," was changed to replace "more" with "many," altering the meaning from emphasizing the need for diverse perspectives to simply highlighting a high number of people."
We made it two months after losing our 19 year old void, the new addition would have made her proud
"evidence for modified gravity at low acceleration from Gaia observations of wide binary stars." A potential replacement for dark matter scaling? Any physicists want to try to answer some questions?
A new study reports conclusive evidence for the breakdown of standard gravity in the low acceleration limit from a verifiable analysis of the orbital motions of long-period, widely separated, binary stars, usually referred to as wide binaries in astronomy and astrophysics.
My understanding is the researcher took Gaia probe information and looked at "wide binary stars" (not sure what defines wide, but there must be a ton of them), within 650 light years of earth. They found the ones that accelerate the least (relative to each other? Rotationally?) are, and this is where I get confused, moving more efficiently around each other than their faster counterparts?
This discrepancy is postulated to be due observations of the stars acting in different physics models based how much they're accelerating relative to each other?
If this is correct (and the researcher is very transparent with their methods and using public data) would this up-end our models as much as I think it would? There's probably a lot of things interacting with other things at very low relative acceptable throughout the universe. Or is this just highlighting a truth we already knew, that there's a difference between the quantum and relative universes that we're now able to roughly put a sca
Question; "1/2 comments added" how do I load the rest of the comments?
I'm entirely new to sync, I feel like this will be common knowledge, but I went to expand a comment thread, it said "1/2 comments added" and the "view more (2)" button disappeared, it loaded 1 comment, but I'd be interested to see what that other comment was.
Thanks Lemmy-syncers
More info, just updated the app and the first thread I was trying to read showed both comments, but the second thread gave the same response, I was leaning towards "it's not showing deleted by creator" except it loaded 2/2 for one of the previous 1/2 threads.
