How do you do, fellow kids? You gettin' indoctrinated on the world wide web? Radical!

🇨🇦

Rated the #1 pizza in Onoway! An Iconic Burger Chain founded in Edmonton, Alberta...is one claim among many! When you're done shitposting, cram a glorious burger down your gob in the most run down shit hole you can find.If it's last renovated in the 70's and you wonder if it's a front for the mob, you're in a proper Burger Baron!

  • I think piefed erroneously marked it as a mod action, your home instance said creator yeah.

  • Then like two tweaks to dolphin to make it look more like the ‘detailed’ view in windows explorer which is the only legit way to view files. Everybody else with these giant folders is fucking crazy. Probably the only thing where i’m not open minded.

I'm among the few who general use / game on linux in the living room on a TV sitting on the couch at a distance, and I still rather use detailed view lmao. Hard agree.

  • My main gripe is them overflowing into global communities not intended for politics and posting even more US politics anyways like we all need to see ugly pedophile faces more often than we see our own loved ones.

Yeah the Piefed filters are a great feature. You can outright make filtered posts (and comments!) invisible but I do like to stay informed within reason, just uh...when I consent to.

  • They deleted their account or a moderator did so idk what the context was but this is a good bit of synopsis anyways lol, thanks! Probably have time to watch properly tonight.

  • Lucky dinos couldn't talk or this one would get bullied back into the ocean.

  • I've been a Rob Words channel fiend lately, about the same as you OP. I suspect if I was teleported back in time earlier than 1400 that I could learn quicker than someone who has never learned any form of English to a point, but it'd still be quite the effort. Then again I'm only considering listening and reading. I think learning to speak well enough to be understood in return is probably harder still, possibly worse than blank slate?

  • Subscribed - Active first usually, I like reading comments.

Then if I'm bored at work Top of Day - All with a variety of USA specific word filters set to Dim in Piefed if the post mentions Trump etc for example. I don't outright hide those posts but I'm not a big fan of doomscrolling a country I don't live in too often. Makes it easy to avoid unless I make an actual effort to read the dimmed post title.

  • My thoughts were: At the mercy of their owner for one. Then a simpler obligate carnivore's taste buds and brain reward system vs an easily bored omnivore with thumbs and unga fire.

Cats can be pretty different with food preference compared to each other. My two aren't super picky. One is allergic to something in kibble so they both only eat wet food. I noticed above all that they vastly prefer paté pucks to a mince in gravy, no matter what flavour any of it is. Seems to leave them feeling fuller too afterwards. Priority: scent, mouth feel, and then taste is considered last is my observation.

That said, a lot of humans in NA who don't cook at home are eating the same crap repackaged in multiple ways from the same Sysco supply monopoly served at almost every restaurant :p

  • This except I'm usually okay in the winter. The hot discomfort of summer is when I get seasonal depression.

  • I don't debate those who lead and end with insults.

  • I"m not convinced all our blank slate minds are all born equal but I appreciate the responses it's good food for thought.

  • How much we drive and how sprawling is the country in question yeah?

Like Canada is lower down this chart sure, and we drive a lot. However my experience driving in and around a 1 million population city vs Toronto GTA vs...let's say New York State and City where the equivilent of my country's entire population lives.

  • They don’t, sadly, and what makes it worse is the endless amounts of religious indoctrination and bullshit media constantly feeding us the narrative that people in general grow and learn over time and become better people, and that sentiment has been internalized at every possible level of society at large, but (as a general rule, nothing is universal) things couldn’t be further from the truth.

I agree with you here of course, quite strongly.

I’m glad my Pop is a badass and taught me how to think and not what to think.

So that's the thing I think about a lot. How much influence did he really truly have on you vs you both just happening to be like-minded to begin with? Ties in with my thoughts on free will vs determinism too. My belief in a weak mind being born doomed now comes into this picture. But I'm one of those annoying compatibilists because my own father has moved slowly from staunch conservative to centrist over time. Maybe only because I'm his kid, who really knows. I'm 35 and only just got him to finally admit he was pretending to be Christian to stay with my mother. I always suspected.

Here's where I'm coming from, so the perspective can hopefully makes more sense:

    • born in a monocultural conservative town 1990 99.5% white people. Seriously I can only remember one black kid in school.

    • my mother co-founded her own Baptist church.

    • I wasn't rebellious, and I even attended youth groups and bible camps regularly.

    • my 2nd earliest memory I can still recall is fucking surreal: In a public elementary school, the principal lead a morning prayer once a week in the morning gym assembly. Everyone. Everyone stood up student/admin/teacher/janitor. Everyone bowed their heads to repeat the principal's prayer. Except one of my classmates one day, she remained seated. This blew my mind. I sat down with her, and she gave me a wide grin. Who knows why, but this moment was cemented into my skull surrounded by the overwhelming majority and choosing to sit out of their mindless tradition.

I never at any point believed in any gods, nor was I at any point a conservative. How could this be given the environment I was raised in?

I think it's simply because I was born with innate critical thinking. I also did not believe what anyone not even my own parents when they told me things at face value. The early internet and the library was where I went to see if something I was told was true or not.

~80% of humans are theists, it's incredibly sad.

  • Maybe because tech has been my main hobby for so long, I don't feel so bad about shaking things up like this yep.

  • I think they're born weak too, but both things can be explanations without it being an excuse.

Small town lifer here, the worst children I knew grew up very predictably. IMO, most people don't really change much at all with age.

  • It's probably not entertaining to actually make those videos is my bet. He has to torture himself with insanely grindy tasks for many hours to get such unintended outcomes. Some videos, the payoff isn't very good. I imagine there's a lot of games he plays for days trying to break things and nothing comes of it worthy of a new video.

  • I don't wear jeans much anymore but a big yeppers for the pajamas gang.

  • Did they update the game enough to make the last third any good? From what I heard this one was heavily front loaded and got worse the further you progressed including bugs, voice acting dropping off.
