59ml instead of 89ml for my favourite moisturizer. Same price. Yay
Any advice? Good alternatives for sensitive skin?

yep, that is textbook shrinkflation.
not something you see much recently because most things shrink and also increase the price now.

It's really amazing how much creativity they put into sculpting all the bottles to make them look deceptively large.

Even to the point that it makes them annoying to use. I feel like that small bottle will be toppling over all the time, and good luck if you have a wire shelf/hangar of some sort.

or try to hide where they are shrinking the product, by everting the bottom to make a coneshape that reduces the whole volume of the bottle.

Cetaphil is pretty good for sensitive skin. They make a face lotion with sunscreen in it too, but I haven't personally tried it. I think, as a brand, it's at roughly the same price point as CeraVe.
That said, at home I do use CeraVe's moisturizing cream on my body and face; I get the 539g jar with the pump and I've found it to be really economical. It's not "face lotion" and doesn't have sunscreen in it, though.

I use cetaphil and 3 out of 4 of my products all have a "made in Canada" label. The fourth is from the USA. So it's worth checking the label before purchasing.

im getting vanicream soon for my PD, apparently people use it because its better for PERIORAL than the others, i use aveeno for everywhere else for my face.
the other ones are just not as good, because are too chemical feeling.

Cerave makes good products IMO but their prices have absolutely exploded in recent years. In 2020 you could get the 87ml bottle on the left there for $12 on sale. Now its double that. Absolutely insane, and unless your skin absolutely won't tolerate anything else it's definitely not worth it.

i have AD(atopic), and cant tolerate most on my face, some even makes it worst. only aveeno hasnt caused such reactions.

Divide price by volume. Some grocery stores even do it for you in small print on the shelf label, look for the little (example) $1.27 / 100g. Note some things are in kg, just move the decimal point (gotta love metric).
Be wary of low volume units, they are usually worse value than the equivalent product in a larger volume. It can get pretty crazy, I’ve seen things twice, three times as expensive in some cases, like $8 for 100g versus $12 for 400g.

Have you seen the wild variations on Coca Cola?! Should be illegal to charge such insanely different prices for exactly the same product just because of the size of the bottle. I get buying in bulk should be cheaper (think 5gal pail of mayo at Costco) than single servings but come on. What’s the cost difference to the manufacturer between 750ml bottles and a 2L bottle.
