Newcomer to Proton Mail. My only way of knowing I have new mail is when I open the app. For some reason, I don’t get app notifications. Does anyone know if I need to do something extra?
I am alone... or not?
I don't know if it's a bug just for me or not... but anyone already have issues with TOP using ProtonPass?
Currently I can't use TOTP codes generated from ProtonPass on wesites like Lemmy.ml, Infomaniak, my CheckMK instance, and few others...
I put them on Proton Pass and Aegis, 'cause I don't want to put my Proton account 2FA in Proton Pass for security. So as I'm using Aegis, I put all of them into it too. But Proton TOTP code results as erros and Aegis one (which are differents) are ok...
I was thinking about SHA256 and SHA1 but don't seems to be the reason...
Thanks and if your are in the case, don't worry... You're not alone!
Keuzes.
Is there a logistical/technological reason why I can register for a protonmail account on my desktop without issue but when I try on mobile it tells me "there has been suspicious attempts from your server and we have stopped sending new codes"?

Proton and the end-to-end encrypted note-taking app Standard Notes are joining forces. We’ve long been admirers and are excited to welcome Mo and his team.
In a perfect world, I shouldn’t be getting any spam at all to my PM accounts, but the address got leaked in a Shopify breach, so it’s something I have to live with. And PM does a respectable at filtering it out.
However, I’d like to go a step further. I still glance through my spam to make sure I’m not discarding any false positives and think that with a filter, I can eliminate up to 50% just on keywords alone. Except filters don’t seem to apply anything in the Spam folder.
Would be nice to have the option with filters to include that folder.
The inbox (or whatever box you are currently viewing) can be shrunk or enlarged, but I do not get the resize cursor for the far left panel. Nor do I see a way to collapse it. Is there something in settings that I am overlooking that would allow me to minimize this panel?
I just saw today that there is now a desktop app in beta for Windows and macos. As a privacy conscious person on Linux I am stuck as a second class citizen using proton services because there are no Linux apps besides bridge.
Apparently when you subscribe to a lower tier plan such as the one month one, the amount you paid (minus what you already "used") will be deducted from the upgrade price if you decide to commit for a longer amount of time.
This is great for people like me who want to try out all the features (including custom domains, Proton Bridge and SimpleLogin) without having to commit for one or two years and without having to pay the 65% higher price of the monthly plan.
I had already accepted the fact that I'd need to pay the monthly fee but this is a much appreciated gesture!
Is the Android Protonmail app on F-Droid safe? Protonmail is not available on F-Droid and I would like to get it on F-Droid to receive automated updates.
Hey all, hoping some more experienced Proton users might be able to help me out here.
Earlier this week I began the process of switching from Gmail to Proton. I imported the last few months of Gmail messages, set Gmail to forward to Proton for the interim before I can get all my other accounts switched away from that Gmail, and installed the Android proton mail app.
I'm having the following issues:
Proton mail, regardless of if I'm in browser or mobile app, keeps reappearing emails that I delete or mark as spam. I'll delete them, then check my inbox again later and there they are again, unread in my inbox. It'll take 6 or 7 attempts sometimes before an email actually stays deleted.
-the Android app is sucking crazy amounts of battery. It's not like I receive an insane amount of daily messages, but yesterday Proton mail sucked 40% of my battery. That's from mostly idle use and deleting a handful of emails. That's it. It seems to be pulling an insane amount of juice in the backgr
Transitioning to PM (and generally speaking, to Proton For Everything) from Gmail, I was following the manual when I realised that PM wanted to replace my privately-owned, with mailbox service included, mail address.
What I've been doing for 15 years was hide a gmail adress behind my own domain name (quality of apps, quantity of storage, general user friendliness...); people would still see me as [email protected], but I had the convenience of that google service while writing"as" me@me.
It also offered me a layer of safety, since downtime does happen, and hopping to the poor roundcube webmail interface of my hosting company allowed me to keep business as usual. Believe it or not, google has failed more often than that regional service provider. lol.
Now to the question: Am I right to understand PM will dutifully catch all emails to [email protected], the DNS settings will kill my old-school IMAP mailbox to push them towards [email protected], and I will have to commit to trust Proton 99.95% (their cu
