This spring and summer, we’re rolling out some of the biggest updates yet to Proton Mail. Here’s a look at what’s coming soon.

Empowering you to choose a better internet where privacy is the default. Protect yourself online with Proton Mail, Proton VPN, Proton Calendar, Proton Drive. Proton Pass and SimpleLogin.
Proton Mail is the world's largest secure email provider. Swiss, end-to-end encrypted, private, and free.
Proton VPN is the world’s only open-source, publicly audited, unlimited and free VPN. Swiss-based, no-ads, and no-logs.
Proton Calendar is the world's first end-to-end encrypted calendar that allows you to keep your life private.
Proton Drive is a free end-to-end encrypted cloud storage that allows you to securely backup and share your files. It's open source, publicly audited, and Swiss-based.
Proton Pass Proton Pass is a free and open-source password manager which brings a higher level of security with rigorous end-to-end encryption of all data (including usernames, URLs, notes, and more) and email alias support.
SimpleLogin lets you send and receive emails anonymously via easily-generat
Proton Calendar: multi-day events not exported/synced to Google?
Hej! I need to import my Proton Calendar to Google Calendar so that an appointment scheduling app can see conflicts.
Syncing with Google Calendar was easy, but for some reason multi-day events don't show up on Google (and so in the scheduling app).
Is that a known bug? Any ideas how to handle this?
Proton VPN requires login details everytime the app is launched in Windows 11.
With the recent update (v4.1.11), it keeps on forgetting the credentials after I close the app. When I open it, it asks for the credentials. Is it a feature or a known bug?
Proton Pass as a storage for a very sensitive data in readable format?
For example cryptocurrency wallet seed phrase. One can add it to the notes field (password field is occupied by my wallet password).
I can also add new field of type "hidden" to the login entry, where i need to click eye icon in order to reveal the content.
Beside login items, there are also Notes items, which does not seems to feature hidden field.
I assume that in terms of security all field types (password, note) and all entries (login, note) are equally secured.
But the field which is not password or a hidden note of the login item, are more vulnerable due to someone look behind your back or due to a computer client-side scanning (spyware third party or built in OS made to screenshot ones screen)?
What is your suggestion on storage of a super-sensitive data like crypto. wallet seeds?
Photos in Proton Drive
Hello, I have photos on Proton Drive that I want to move to Proton photos. What can I do?
This spring and summer, we’re rolling out some of the biggest updates yet to Proton Mail. Here’s a look at what’s coming soon.
VPN: excessive IP blocking
I'm just mostly commenting to vent frustration with what I'm seeing this past week as a sharp spike in captchas and sites straight up blocking Proton VPN IPs. Proton is slowed down, captcha'd and blocked at a far higher rate than any such behavior I encountered with Nord when I used them. You can do all you want to protect privacy but when you hold yourself out as the big "privacy" VPN service everyone's gonna be suspicious that you're gonna be the service that bad actors use and block all your traffic. I know I should also figure this will happen but I would also figure there would be more effort to prevent it from happening. I use Proton VPN because I enjoy Proton's other services but if this keeps up I feel it may get to be unusable for me.
Proton Pass lost my notes and password
No rage, just confusion as I'm sure it's something I did wrong.
I try out Proton Pass (web browser) for the first time and generate an alias, and then a password. And I remember adding a couple of notes to it. But I opened it up the next day, and the alias is still there, but the other info is gone. Nothing in the history, nor in the generated passwords.Looks like it was last modified at its creation, so I would guess that it never saved the info.
Did I miss a button click or am I missing something?
I'm out
I've decided to leave Proton after being a user since 2017. Today, I migrated all my services to my new domain, marking the end of my time with Proton. The recent political noise and price point were no longer justifiable for me. It was a good experience while it lasted. Thanks for the fishes 🐟 🐠
Proton left Mastodon...
Instead of leaving Xitter, they left Mastodon. Proton's trend is not inspiring confidence and this feels like another step backwards.
Recently, allegations surfaced on Reddit that Proton (or at least Proton’s CEO) supports Trump. Hillary Keverenge from Tech-Issues Today…
I've seen this posted a couple of times in comments, it seems like a reasonable investigation in to the recent shit storm
I usually actively avoid engaging in anything to do with US politics as it's pointless getting depressed by an awful situation I have zero control over; this post is not about fueling arguments or making us all feel worse, just determining if a useful tech company has gone to shit (TL;DR: probably not).
What is context behind Proton CEO praising something Trump said?
I want context is he agree with something so bad?
Also, as a non-american why would I care until Proton product is good?
Since Andy Yen's unfortunate comments, have any of you left Proton? And if so, what alternative did you choose?

How did the transition go? Do you like the new service(s) so far?
"On Politics and Proton - a message from Andy"
Original post by u/Proton_Team on Reddit, reposting here so everyone is in the loop on updates.
Hi all, last night, a post from last year from my personal X account suddenly became a topic of discussion here on Reddit. I want to share a few thoughts on this to provide clarity to the community on what is Proton's policy on politics going forward.
First, while the X post was not intended to be a political statement, I can understand how it can be interpreted as such, and it therefore should not have been made. While we will not prohibit all employees from expressing personal political opinions publicly, it is something I will personally avoid in the future. I lean left on some issues, and right on other issues, but it doesn't serve our mission to publicly debate this. It should be obvious, but I will say that it is a false equivalence to say that agreeing with Republicans on one specif
'Guest' users of Proton VPN - what data is stored?
The Google Play Store version of Proton VPN (not the F-Droid or GitHub versions (unless they have been updated the last few weeks)) allows people to use Proton VPN as a 'Guest', i.e. without logging into a Proton account. The average user might think, because they have not provided an email address or any other details whatsoever, that using Proton VPN as a Guest gives them an additional layer of anonymity.
Would they be correct?
Or am I right in thinking that when a person downloads the VPN app from the Play Store, their Gmail address (logged into the Google Play Store) is shared with Proton, and because Proton receives this identifiable information from Google it is why Proton allows 'Guest' usage on the Play Store version and not on the FOSS versions of the app?
If yes, does Proton store these Gmail addresses and are therefore able to provide them to Swiss authorities if demanded?
Proton VPN says they are a "no-logs VPN service", but their [definition](https://protonvpn.com/supp
Google Play's version of VPN allows private 'Guest' use, so why does FOSS version on F-Droid demand email address?!
I downloaded ProtonVPN (5.5.68.0) a few months ago via the Google Play Store and have been happily using it ‘anonymously’ as a Guest with no problem. I recently purchased a new Android device and this time I chose to download the same VPN (5.5.68.0) via F-Droid to maintain some privacy. However, there appears to be no option in the FOSS version of the app to use Proton VPN as a guest - I am told I have to sign-up with an actual email address.
For a company claiming they are "Empowering you to choose a better internet where privacy is the default. Protect yourself online with... Proton VPN" (look to the right of this page), this decision astounds me. Assuming the error is not on my part, why is the purported FOSS version on F-Droid forcing users to give identifiable information (even if it’s only an email address and password), but the Google Android version does not?
Introducing Groups in Proton Mail for Business
from the team:
Hi everyone,
To better streamline communication for organizations relying on Proton Mail, we’re adding a new feature: Groups.
Create a group for a department or team in your organization, and assign its own dedicated email address. It then works as a distribution list, allowing everyone to reach all group members, all protected by end-to-end encryption.
For example, a group address for your customer care or HR team allows all inquiries directed to them to be seen by the entire team, eliminating the need for a shared email account.
Groups can also include addresses outside of your organization, such as customers, contractors, and agencies. However, in order to retain end-to-end encryption, external collaborators would need to use Proton Mail, too.
Unlike contact groups, already available in Proton Mail, Group addresses are better suited for organizations:
⭕ they are centrally managed and automatically available across the entire organiza

I don't have google services on my phone and having every app permanently connected checking for new messages is detrimental to battery life. UnifiedPush is the open alternative to Google Cloud Messaging: https://unifiedpush.org
