Werewolves Within - 2021
A fun campy werewolf film, a bunch of twists, light hearted... they explore the space. I recommend for a fun experience.
Maze Runner Films
A pretty good 3 movie arc of a zombie apocalypse, good pacing, just enough mystery box to keep things moving.
Overall a good watch, would recommend for a rainy day.
Get Out - 2017
A really excellent film, that deserves thought and reflection

Minecraft - RedLetterMedia - 2025

We saw The Minecraft Movie! Correction: we saw A Minecraft Movie. This movie is a Minecraft movie, because someone had to make it. It stars Jack Black because of course it does. In the film, lights and colors appear on the screen and people in the audience laugh when characters say that their butt hurts. It is truly a magical time at the cinema and we can only hope that this Minecraft Movie is not the only Minecraft Movie.

A great comedy drama set in the outback, a slice of life type of film
The Orville - Series
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Orville
It's great, started as a weird comedy hybrid but found its legs as a modern version of Star Trek the next generation.
The characters are a bit in your face, the story beats a little predictable, but its peak space opera.
It's very enjoyable, and has heart.
Has 3 seasons available.
Big Trouble in Little China
This movie is peak 80s action, taking it self seriously but not overly so. I must have watched this movie a dozen times, but never all the way through. it's a staple of background action and comedy.
It is a top tier B movie cult classic.
Jurassic Park - 1993
A classic! A must watch on any rainy day.
Nice to see old computers struggling, compiling taking down systems. Great performances all around.
And of course "it's a unix system"
Contraaataque 2025 - netflix
Five friends shopping at US/Mexico border face sicario hitmen, but the targets are actually Murciélagos.
A direct to netflix movie - a feel good story of a special forces unit trumping over a drug lord and corruption.
Overall, a solid movie - good action with some thoughtful moments of sacrifice and doing the right thing even with no support.
Cherry Tomato - 2008 - 방울토마토
This is a highly impactful film following a grandfather and grand daughter struggle with poverty in south Korea. It makes me cry every time I watch it.
It's a well shot film, the pacing and emotional communication is first rate.
I recommend watching it when your in the mood for thoughtful emotions.
Chernobyl 2019 - Series
A absolutely masterful capture of tone and environment of the Chernobyl disaster. Focusing on the problems of soviet bureaucracy. A very impactful and moving series, a must watch.

It's a simple story, about a kid going on a galactic adventure. Video game recruitment
Recommend!
Moon - 2009
An amazing exploration of self and what it means to be alive set on a moon mining colony. Intensely atmospheric, the movie uses pauses and quiet moments to reflect on the intellectual journey of the main character.
Without spoiling anything, this is a great movie to watch totally blind.
Snow White - 2025
Did you watch Snow White? What did you think?
Critical response
The BBC reported that British film critics have mostly panned the film, while US critics were more favorable.[90] On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 44% of 177 critics' reviews are positive, with an average rating of 5.4/10. The website's consensus reads: "Snow White is hardly a grumpy time at the movies thanks to Rachel Zegler's luminous star turn, but its bashful treatment of the source material along with some dopey stylistic choices won't make everyone happy, either."[91] Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned the film a score of 50 out of 100, based on 47 critics, indicating "mixed or average" reviews.[92] Audiences surveyed by PostTrak gave the film an average rating of three out of five stars, with 39% saying they would definitely recommend the film.[93]

Tales from the Loop
Tales from the Loop follows the interconnected lives of the residents in the fictional town of Mercer, Ohio. Mercer is home to the Mercer Center for Experimental Physics, an underground facility known as the Loop. It is here that researchers attempt to "make the impossible possible".
A pretty good metaphysical scifi show, it requires full attention so not really second screen material. I recommend it for a slow paced black-mirror itch.
