Should there be a community for general game history/preservation posts?

I've been using "Hit Save Official Community" for posts related to gaming history and/or preservation that don't fall into any other categories at the moment, but I believe that community is meant for things directly related to Hit Save (per the description). Would it be better to have a separate community (perhaps something like "general game history" or "general game preservation")?

    Upgrade server to v0.18?

I see that v0.18 has been recently released, which includes a lot of improvements. One noted regression is Captcha, which is a good first defense for spam accounts, but this will be added back in the next release.

Given the size of the server, it might be worth still upgrading to v0.18 and taking advantage of these improvements, but I completely understand if you'd prefer to wait.

    Subscribe to other communities

I tried to search for "[email protected]" and it doesn't find anything. Instances says this site is linked to lemmy.ml. Am I doing something wrong to subscribe to a community outside of this site? I was able to subscribe to a community on a different site.

Request for a "Visual Novels" community.

Want to bring people over for discussing many vintage/retro PC/console topics related to this kind of genre + hybrid games that are included in same category. An example to find references is the VNDB (Visual Novel Database). (From scans to actual preservation of this multi-platform genre)
