  • Windows 12 could be released as early as this year and will be a modular OS, meaning users will have the option to add or remove features, aiming to provide more flexibility.

Does this mean I can remove the AI? /s

  • Let us know how it goes. I'd love one, but I'm not in the EU.

  • It says it'll support android apps through a compatability layer.

  • True. One thing that helps is I hate delivery apps. I only use them when work gives out gift cards. The food is always cold and garbage when I finally get it. And not using those helps save money a lot too.

  • Nah, we tend to either stay home or when we go out to do things on the weekends they're quick errands and we're right back home.

  • On Saturdays for lunch we let the kids pick. Me and my wife work from home, on Tuesdays she gets to pick where we go for our lunch date and Thursdays I get to pick.

The wife likes to pick sushi, panera, taco bell, and a good local burger joint.

I like to pick Qdoba, Firehouse, Burger King, local Indian place, chick-fil-a, and random new places around town.

  • Going out to eat. I try to limit myself to 3 times a week.

  • From the Article:

GrapheneOS has historically maintained tight integration with Google Pixel hardware, citing security features like Titan M chips, verified boot implementation, and firmware transparency as critical requirements. Expanding to non-Pixel hardware represents a major strategic shift.

Motorola, meanwhile, has been investing heavily in enterprise mobility, device lifecycle management, and security solutions. Integrating GrapheneOS into that portfolio would give the company a strong privacy-focused differentiator in both consumer and enterprise segments.

  • I get that, but why aren't any other sites broken up like that? Amazon has a bunch, and I doubt yahoo only has two. It just seems out of place.

  • Why two Yahoo?

  • Not sure about this one, but it depends on how you program it. If you program it like an led, it's horrible. But if you do it properly it's pretty fast. Animations kill the refresh rate. You can draw a new screen and refresh the whole screen in like half a second. But if you do something like a button animation where you change the color of the button then back then refresh the screen, you have three changes which can take a second and a half.

So, yes, if done well, you can send and receive messages on e-ink fairly well.

    Unsure about this product specifically.

  • For work, or for hobby?

Hobby: have AI document what it's supposed to do, then work through it like the ship of theseus one function at a time replacing it with not bad code.

Work: use it, document the bugs, ninja in and clear them out one at a time until it works. Keep blinders on and ignore anything not directly related to each bug. Same strategy as legacy code.

  • So, I have 4 kids, and they're not very considerate with my tech. They don't actively throw or destroy anything, but they do frequently drop stuff.

It's no audiophile's wet dream, but they're not bad for $25. The audio lag is minimal, sound quality is better than expected, and they're pretty light and comfortable for long gaming sessions.

  • It also changes throughout the year. I have a smart radon detector and radon mitigation system. It will randomly spike, despite the mitigation system it actually becomes detectable in my basement. It goes from basically 0 (0.1-0.3 pCi/L) most of the year to Low (1-1.5 pCi/L). Nowhere near the bad levels, but I get notified whenever it spikes.

  • A lot of wifi routers have a bridge mode you can put them in too. Just grab an old or cheap one, would likely draw less power and be quieter.

  • I have a few! They're, just not, you know, allowed to connect to the internet...

  • Exactly, seems like this should be up to the consumer. The devs can say: pixels have best security, here's a 2nd and 3rd option, here's their pros and cons.

Because as much as I approve of privacy measures and security, my phone doesn't have any lock screen. No pin, no biometrics, nothing.

I work from home, I don't really travel, I have 4 children. Physical security is annoying. I want grapheneos for data security. I don't have people trying to steal my phone, I do have people constantly stealing my data.

And without a non-pixel option (fuck google), I'm likely to go for to a competitor because, while their data security might not be as good as graphene, it is better than what I currently have.

  • Bring on support for more devices, and I'll likely switch with my next phone.

  • That's fair. So, how are you going to move the zwave plug? An extension cord, or you need to move the whole box?
