As much as i support boycotting american products: what is even a reason for me to need broadcasters? Free TV is such ad ridden garbage, I would never want to go back to that.
To me and many people I know a TV itself is a pretty pointless accessory. At most a big screen for console/games. Only my parents generation uses the TV ever evening in my experience.
Generally curious, this sounds like a cry to protect something unnecessary in its current form. It needs to adapt to nowadays needs, not cry for regulatory changes to restrict competitors imo. (That said, I would have no problems regulating American data collection more and harsher, but as a topic on its own)
Edit: no I did not read the article at the time of writing this comment ..
it's a US only problem.
Absolutely not. There more than enough lobbying and corruption in our all-so-democratic EU, just most of the population denying it based on "look how much worse the US is"
Well, i think it's definitely the "big evil corpos" fault. But that doesn't make your rant wrong either. Just, consumers never want to be told they are part of the problem. Corpos are shit and all but if consumers wouldn't buy shit while there is an alternative, they wouldn't continue making it. Advertising is a big problem there as well, and people, consciously or not, being influenced at all times..
Thats plain wrong. If or if not to go 170 is another question, but bikes weight nothing compared to cars, reaching that speed does not require a 30k bike at all.
if your running windows you'll still have to put up with Microsoft
Luckily, there is another choice. Linux runs pretty smooth and has gotten much simpler to use over the years.
"Gutmensch" als Beschimpfung zu verwenden sagt halt schon viel über so Leute aus..
I switched two years ago and it's mostly fantastic. You might "lack" something windows does because you are used to it, but you get a vast amount of choice in other features, depending on how much you try and experiment.
I recently moved to EndeavourOS with KDE Plasma and immeditately loved it, and so much of the UI is customizable by default and super easy. PoP!_OS just works, Mint or just Ubuntu are also often mentioned as nice picks.
Of course there might also be situtations where you have to look up solutions online because some software/hardware might not be automatically supported, but I personally can count the issues on one hand that took me longer than a few minutes to fix.
As someone else suggested, give dualboot a try and feel some different distros out. Could also just make a ventoy (fantastic tool) usb stick and try multiple distros very easily without fully installing.
I think as long as you don't expect it to "be exactly like Windows" it could be great to switch.
Edit: it's also much easier nowadays to use and/or to find solutions for isses i think. I tried ubuntu the first time in 2013 but it didn't stick. Nowadays I could not imagine going back to Windows
SuprisedPickachu...
Yes please, I want more europen food!
I hate when i do that and they still refuse to answer more than one
You win a 2 week all expense paid trip to the country of your choice... where are you going and why?
I just came back from Japan and gotta say it is definitely worth a long visit. The 2 weeks would even be a tad short, but still a great opportunity. Food is not expensive so you dont "save" a lot on it in this thought experiment, but hotels, especially during sakura time right now, would be a big one. And well, just getting a chance to experience Japanese culture, especially coming from "rude western countries" is pretty great. Definitely gonna go back there.
After their shit about the Phone unlock tool I would rather not buy Asus in the first place..
This looks fantastic! Wish i could get such a nice crust/border going, mine never rises that much.
In frankfurt you could at least choose to get the one gate without scanner. I read in London they habe a no-fly policy if you refuse to get scanned. I hate this timeline
Also new facial scanners at airports
Yes, what the actual fuck?! Saw one in Frankfurt on a layover
Maybe it’s the Austrians 🤷
He, don't slander. Thats not the kind of thing going on in Austrian cellars
Doesn't sound bad tbh..i like savory waffles. Don't sugar the dough (no idea if thats a thing, just guessing) and you are good to go

Integrity API error with Aurora Store
Hi!
I have a light degoogled Zenfone, using Aurora Store and F-Droid. Recently my company moved offices and the new building requires an app to unlock the door, no alternatives -_-
The problem is, I can't sign in to the app due to an "Integrity API Error (-2)" - PLAY_STORE_NOT_FOUND
. I don't work from the office very often so its not suuuper critical, but still quite annoying to always ask someone to let me into the building.. the apps support also said "sorry you gotta install the official store".
Does anyone know if I can resolve this somehow without installing the official playstore? I have not made any progress the last couple times I tried to find a solution..
Also annoying that Asus discontinued their bootloader unlock, so I am not even too sure about fully rooting my phone. Though, I could/should honestly look into that again, but have not managed yet..
