  • Thanks to all the influence operations, surveillance, AI slop, malicious scrapers, spam and bad-faith ideologues (from all sides).

    Edit: typpo

  • These companies are making a bank out of planned obsolescence, and they can do so because their workers are cheap.

In a throwaway culture, you do not want to be a generic factory worker, because your time and efforts will be worth almost nothing.

It doesn't have to be this way, but cheap labor from places like China has enabled this culture. If you don't want to be a slave, you have to change that culture.

Edit: As others have said, certain classes of people will be exempt from having to work in factories in his mind. It's not this bastard's children or grandchildren he is referring to of course.

  • Yes, communism leads to tens of millions being killed/starved, during and after the takeover. Meanwhile characters like Mao enjoyed luxury and women.

    Fuck communism.

  • We many times lament when the government overreaches. This is the kind of Trojan horse that enables the government to overreach.

One might think, this seems innocuous and beneficial, so go ahead, right? You have to ask yourself, how is it moral for the government to, with the threat of violence, force every home to be built with solar panels? Because that's the implication.

If I'm a small business, and I build a house without solar panels, is it right that I be bankrupted or/and be put in jail?

  • Although that would be a win, European alternatives are not much better in terms of privacy. If that's something you're looking forward to.

Pretty much all methods of online payment require you to give away your identity in the name of fighting "money laundering" and terrorism (Israel doesn't count). You have a system where the government is constantly trying to reach its tentacles into everything that has to do with finance. The current European payment services are an important part in facilitating that control. A new European debit/credit card is not going to change that.

  • Signal is a good alternative.

  • Nailed it.

Just look at Barrack "Black Drone Operator" Obama, and Joe "Sniff Sniff" Biden who is a blatant Zionist who acted chocked and insulted when he was called a Palestinian (I believe by Trump). Both supporting the violent occupation of Palestine, of course.

  • sensitive

You're the one being sensitive. Lol.

  • It depends on who the male character in the comic is supposed to be. If it's in that setting, then yeah I can imagine it happening.

I was thinking about MGTOWs and internet personalities who use words like "high value male/female", and my interpretation of this comic is that this is supposed to be satire of them. If that's what the comic artist was going for then, I believe my criticism is deserved.

If it's referencing immature men saying “I wouldn’t even date you” to women they actually find attractive, well, I haven't seen it myself but I can imagine it happening. That's however not what I was thinking about addressing this comic.

The comic is a bit ambiguous about what it's talking about specifically.

  • I think the problem is that you think I'm arguing in bad faith, and I'm not. Nor is anything that I said that controversial.

No offense, but I think you really need to touch some grass.

  • Sorry for the unfamiliar opinions. Do you need me to call a doctor?

  • You are free to disagree, but I don't feel I would have been able to complete my point without the second half.

  • Take your own advice, kiddo.

  • First, there’s nothing inherently wrong with being a single mother.

Single motherhood is not easy, and I have sympathy for any woman who has become a single mother with no power of her own. The critique is not aimed at single motherhood, but rather at women who make (selfish) decisions in life that leaves the children without a father. It cannot be understated how damaging that can be for her children.

One reason why I said that certain internet personalities deserve criticism on their own is that they advocate for men engaging in promiscuity and cause the same problems that these personalities claim they dislike.

Second, a woman’s worth is not determined by the number of past partners she’s had, a standard which is never applied to men.

Yes, it's a factor that men will judge a woman by. It makes sense, because a more extensive past will more likely affect a future relationship.

Men should be held to a higher standard as well, I don't disagree with that.

Third, securing a good father for her child is not the be-all-end-all goal of a single mother. Raising her child(ren) is. This can be done with or without a man involved.

It has been shown that children who are raised with a single parent fare worse than with both parents. It's clear that single motherhood is not something to be desired, neither for the children nor the mothers themselves. Many single mothers are complaining, on the internet about this, so it's strange that you are trying to defend them by claiming that there is no issue to complain about...

So a comic strip didn’t address sexism in the specific way that you approve of, and you think the proper response is to degrade the cartoonist as a whorish single mother who can’t find a good man?

I wasn't talking about the cartoonist. I was talking about the made up characters that supposedly reflect reality. When someone sees this comic, it's most likely that they don't think about who drew it. They will likely see the comic in isolation from the artist, just like I did.

  • I'm glad to hear from someone else who is seeing what I'm seeing.

The sarcastic strong and independent woman vs a stupid man meme has nothing to do with reality whatsoever. The worst part is that it's masking some serious issues society is dealing with.

  • Wrong. Try again.

  • It's such a stupid satire by a sad person who can't address valid criticism and who feel that their only recourse is to make up a fantasy.

Staw man/Fantasy: Guy telling a random woman on the street, who happens to be married, "I wouldn't even date you". The strong and independent woman answers with sarcasm.

Reality: The woman is a single mother with 10+ past partners who has failed to secure a good father for her child. She puts herself online and gets scrutinized and criticized.

This is not a defense of particular internet personalities, who may or may not deserve criticism on their own. Rather, it's to point out that these comics are stupid, and don't address valid criticism that's out there that need to be addressed properly.
