We can agree about the US, sure.
If you think Muslim people are living in peace in France, Germany, Italy, the UK, the Netherlands, probably many other places - you have been living under a rock.
"muslims can exist ... in the west in peace" except for being demonised by assholes like you spewing neonazi propaganda (not to mention surveilled, legislated against, harassed / attacked / entrapped by police, and all the rest)
Then open the door before washing your hands?
Inspirational, never let "not being able to tell different words apart" stop anyone from having strong opinions about foreign politics

bigoted against people based on where they're from
refuses to educate themself
defends the US military
Yup, checks out
Claiming that any of the war crimes pictured was anything to do with "defense" (as opposed to "offense" or, better yet, "bloodthirsty neocolonial conquest") is olympic-tier mental gymnastics.
If they want a post-pandemic comeback they have to wait for the pandemic to finish first...
To explain my downvote: yes, designing for disabled access is important. But making out that the ADA is actually enforced, and ignoring its origins in controlling and disempowering disabled people, is bullshit. So's your original pessimistic example - if we're improving public transit and banning cars from cities, we can absolutely tear up the carbrained suburbs, and massively expand access-a-ride and similar services in the meantime.
I don't have to imagine being a black tourist in Japan, I can just ask the person I know who is one, right now, who says it's fine. So is your thought experiment based on anyone's actual experience, or just your racist stereotype of Japanese people?
Today I learned: calling citizens of colonizing countries "gringos" is comparable with genocide /s

A lot of cars I've been in with speed limiters, the minimum speed is 25mph. I've never understood why it's not 1mph (or more reasonably 5mph, which is the lowest limit I see regularly).
Someone making a child to make a companion for themself seems like a giant selfish consent issue to me - and there's no guarantee someone's child will want to be part of their parents' lives (or live up to whatever other expectations the parents might have).
Developing close friendships with people based on shared interests and mutual support seems much more reliable and ethical.
suffering is when someone in a climate-controlled vehicle with comfortable seats gets to their destination seconds later than the fastest possible.
zero road deaths have been caused by drivers running red lights or zebra crossings or mounting the pavement.

CPBML's party line is anti-trans bigotry, I wouldn't trust their take on anything tbh

Start a new community with a tighter focus, and block this one, if you don't like it š¤·āāļø
I saw it was from Microsoft and bailed before it even loaded... the only thing those clowns know about open source is how to try (and fail) to kill it
The VCs know best as usual, it's important not to ruin the pure perfect possibility of decentralization by actually implementing it

Community for Lemmy instance administrators?
Is there a Lemmy community out there for people running a Lemmy server, to talk about the tech and maybe moderation?
UK equivalent of "list of atrocities committed by the US government"?
There are a bunch of well-researched lists of US government atrocities (including "List of Atrocities committed by US authorities" Lemmy's own @[email protected].
But I can't find an equivalent for the UK government, just "5 worst atrocities" listicles, and this too-specific and incomplete list fof "war crimes" on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_war_crimes
Well done UK government propaganda department, I guess š
Anyone know of a better list squirrelled away somewhere, or some resources which might help make one?
