I have had a lot success I think, I got into it from guided meditations posted by the Buddhist Society of Western Australia. It's common that people starting out say they aren't 'doing it right'.
If you are having trouble staying mindful of your breath or whatever it just means your mind is restless, you are still doing it right. Your posture, energy, focus and such is never perfect. When doing mindfulness meditation just note whatever comes up, as you do it more it becomes easier to view what's happening and your mind will relax more.
I also enjoy Buddhist 'metta' meditation, focusing on the feeling of loving-kindness. There is a physical feeling associated with love, being able to generate the feeling and focus on it in meditation is rewarding.
I have access to 3d printers at my work, I wonder if they would say anything if I printed some pieces, it's my constitutional right isn't it? We can use them for personal projects, they never said anything about weapons.

It has been a punishing period for UnitedHealth, starting in December when executive Brian Thompson was targeted outside of a New York City hotel and killed. While unrelated to the financial operations of the $340 billion healthcare giant, its shares have tumbled severely since the attack.
UnitedHealth cut its 2025 forecast last month following its first quarterly earnings miss in more than a decade. On Tuesday the company withdrew that financial forecast entirely, saying that medical costs from new Medicare Advantage members were higher than expected.
Shares of UnitedHealth, which have plummeted 38% since the deadly Dec. 4 ambush of Thompson in midtown Manhattan, fell more than 16% Tuesday to levels last seen almost five years ago.
Other big insurers tumbled as well, with Elevance, Humana and Cigna falling between 4% and 7%.
There are many factors that have caused companies to lose value in the last few months, I am curious where UHC would be without this killing though. It's interesting that they saw their first quarterly earnings miss in over ten years. It's hard not to assume that Thompson's death contributed to the company's current issues directly.
Could be they just wanted to mention they were married so as not to give you the wrong impression? And a woman telling her partner someone is nice to them at work doesn't seem too weird, a lot of people aren't as nice as you probably.
That is silly. All hexbears are remarkably good-looking and I refuse to believe otherwise.
Excuse for what? What would it have accomplished if I voted then?
I live in a state where no vote I could have done would make a difference.
religious fundies here want the same thing they do
What do you mean by this? Religious fundamentalists in the US are more likely to be Zionists, they want to destroy Palestine, or are you talking about the 'Israeli' fundamentalists?
And if you did protest vote or not vote at all I hold you equal as those who voted MAGA
Nazis are the same as those who don't want to vote for Nazis, interesting.

We had a school like that in my district in the US, students weren't sent temporarily though, they would spend a year or more there if they were a 'trouble student' at the regular school. None of us growing up thought there was anything weird about that.
Happy Mother's Day to all you motherhexers out there who observe it. It was a too lovely morning, sitting in the sun and I was watching a male bird feeding a young one on a tree branch. I like to think it was giving the mama bird the day off
Before these codes, in the late 19th/early 20th centuries there were several high profile fires that caused a lot of death and damage, such as the San Francisco fires in 1906, Great Chicago Fire in 1871, the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire, and a few others.
It's recommended not to use an elevator if there is a fire, power could get cut or the car stuck from damage related to fire and you could get trapped.
?? I don't get it
It's just him singing rabbit in your headlights by unkle vocals only on repeat
The quarter in his hand is like a stigmata, I wonder if that was intentional, like his good self is being crucified by the evil coming out. Excellent artistry, I never see comic book art praised like 'high art' but I am more impressed by it than a lot contemporary artists.
Be a real shame if, there happened to be one or two careless drivers
It's somehow less frustrating to me when they just openly admit it. The lies about what is clearly going on is maddening.
Post 9/11 media shift RE Enterprise
SPOILERS for Star Trek Enterprise potentially
I was noticing it was tough for me to get into shows that started after the 2000s, and talking to someone I mused about how it must be because of 9/11. I was watching Enterprise at the time, on the season just before 2001, and sure enough, the episodes after 9/11 had a complete shift in tone, the show becoming basically 24, sci-fi War on Terror immediately. It's like a parody of 'if Starfleet had to make the hard choices to make America safe from space Al Qaeda' or something. Overall the show is better than I was expecting though, still got me hooked on the trekness.
It was clear there was a cultural shift after 9/11, especially in the mainstream US media. It was interesting to be able to see it so distinctly in a show that went from the pre- to post- era. Does anyone else have any good examples of that happening in shows that spanned that shift?
What's for breakfast?
What are you gonna have? Do we even need to eat breakfast? I'm trying to figure out things quick to make that don't have a ton of sugar and aren't egg based. Any ideas?
