  • CWM, calm window manager. It's based off Plan 9's Rio and made for OpenBSD, there is a Linux port. I also admit I use KDE sometimes.

  • Glad you worked it out. It is usually a drive not formatted correctly, happens to the best of us.

  • One rarely is able to get a GPU to passthrough to a VM and actually work. I haven't been able to do it but I have heard that others have.

  • I played the crap out of the original! I hope the controls are not the same haha. I enjoyed all the 90s cars, I'm a big Nissan Silvia fan. Hopefully they put in the S15.

  • Ruining another software, thanks for the warning.

  • I recently installed OpenSuse, I have been using FreeBSD mostly, but have used linux through the years. I decided to go with an rpm based distro and I've always likes the chameleon mascot of Suse. I'm used to Debian based linux, so it's been a slight adjustment but it's been nice and smooth. I'm running Tumbleweed right now and all my Steam games work, as well as my 3d Windows applications via wine. It just works* I am too old and tired to spend time tweaking anymore.

  • Best practice is to create a user just for gaming.

  • Holy shit, this was because someone reported her mom for not wearing a freaking helmet!?!?!

  • 9term is what I use the most. Once you get used to the Plan9 way, you kind of like it. Sometimes I use Terminator as well. Konsole is like Terminator, both are good. They are both nicer than kitty for me. I tried kitty, went back to Terminator as it has menus to edit things, not just a text file.

  • winwatch: I edited the source code. I have some code on 2 places: http://shithub.us/thedaemon/usr.html & http://thedaemon.space/plan9/9front.html I'll get back to you soon on the 9weather.

  • If you rewrite it in C.

  • cp /bin/tacme $home/bin/amd64/acme change your profile like so: bind -b $home/bin/$cputype /bin

and you can use your local copy of acme.

    Faces on sdf is neinbook

for your new windows command, in your profile, just add the -s argument to rio rio -i riostart -s

  • I have a VM on my FreeBSD desktop with Bhyve. I have 2 ThinkPads, an x61t & x201t that run it. I also have a Raspberry PI3B+ that runs it, and is my web server.

  • FreeBSD & 9Front. BSD for my media server and 9front for my web server.

  • It's much faster locally or on bare metal.
