Hey, you should enter this on the hackaday contest too: https://hackaday.io/contest/202866-2025-pet-hacks-challenge
Cool project!
I don't even have that excuse. Lol
I have come across cave story + before on steam, but didn't really realize it was a remake. It slipped my radar somehow, but I'll have to add it to the list I suppose 👍
Awesome, both of those are great. I've never actually played perfect dark so that one's definitely on the list. I also saw that there's one for majora's mask as well.
I'm sure they're probably working on getting the star fox to work on linux. That will be cool getting back into that one too.
I never got into the sonic games too much.
What did you love about it?
Which ones have you played so far?
Those are all pretty good reasons.
My experience with all of it was quite a bit different, for reasons that were mostly out of my control, and it affected my overall impression.
It's good to know that some people were/are happy with it though.
That's awesome, and good to hear it still holds up. It will always hold a special place for me.
At some point, I'd like to do a deep dive into all these awesome decompilation projects that are being developed. I think it's going to be a lot of fun.
Password managers make it pretty easy to see which websites have the old address too 👍
DKR was awesome. I always wanted to play that one on the N64, even though the others at the time just wanted to play 007.
Oh come on, that one literally puts you on a floating island. Of course it's going to be floaty! Lol
I recently tried both the last beserker as well as lies of P, and I just couldn't really get into either of them. I think maybe full blown souls games are just done for me. Death's door was great though, I really liked that one! I never got into Tunic, but definitely have been eyeballing it for quite a while now...
The developer interviews sound neat, can't wait!
hemorrhoids.
Definitely true love. Or she's a nurse. One or the other.
Were you happy with the ps5? Genuinely curious.
Hmm, this looks pretty cool but I hope the controls and character movements are good. It seems like it might be a bit floaty...
I don't see any milk though, you sure she loves you? Maybe she just wants you to choke to death 🤷♂️

(Pop os) Is there a way to use cosmic desktop with wayland? (solved)
So, I'm hoping to reduce the substantial screen tearing that I'm encountering while watching videos.
One of the suggestions that I have found is to enable wayland, which did help quite a bit (this is the guide I found). However, I've decided I don't really want to use gnome. Gnome seems great, but I've already become accustomed to using cosmic.
Apparently pop os is in a transitionary phase and will eventually update to wayland as the default, but I'm just wondering if there's other desktop environments I should be considering? I see that Fedora now comes with a KDE cosmic variant, but I don't know if this would be any better or not.
Edit:
I ended up installing kde plasma standard desktop environment (which was listed here). Upon booting into the login screen there's a big on-screen keyboard. Hit enter to bypass it. In the dropdown menu on the top lef

Feed bug
Upon going back to the feed page from a post page, the feed tends to load in at a different point (higher up) than where it was before. This results in a lot of repetitive scrolling.
Also, I noticed that (when new content is being loaded in?) the scrolling gets stuck in the same spot. Scrolling kind of just glitches on the same spot until it gets past it and then resumes as normal.
small ui suggestion
Hey, I noticed that the expand/collapse button tends to block text sometimes. Is there any way that it could be made transparent when hovering the mouse over it? Also, the hover text should say 'collapse' when the text has already been expanded.
Cable self clipper
These are often found on vacuum cleaner cables and such.
I'd like one to clip onto a two wire (two pronged, no ground) flat cable like this one:
Anything like that exist yet?
Redirect on mobile
Does anyone have tips for redirecting YouTube links on mobile android?
I tried Firefox with libredirect addon, but it doesn't want to work for some reason.
default trackpad behavior while in gaming mode, but not in a game
I'm having some trouble finding an answer for this. While in the gaming mode, just navigating the regular steam ui, the default behavior of the left trackpad acts as a redundant directional pad. I'd like that trackpad to control the screen navigation behavior instead (swipe up/down to scroll vertically, swipe left/right to scroll horizontally).
Is there an easy way to do this?
folder syncronization
I have a 'screenshots' folder on my laptop. I would like my steam deck to send the screenshots that I take on it to that same folder, or have it synchronized somehow. What is the best or most intuitive way of accomplishing this?
translate alternative language instances?
I would like to know if there's any (automatic) ways of translating the instances which are not my native language (English). I think many of them would be well worth participating in, or at least being able to lightly skim over.
I know many get annoyed by them, and end up filtering/blocking. I don't find myself annoyed by them or anything like that, I just feel like I'm missing out a bit. I think if there was an easier and more inclusive way to join in with these communities it would be a great benefit to the fediverse.
You guys scoping out any good deals?
Looks like all the refurbished models are out of stock on steam at the moment.
community suggestions feature for new posts
-I currently have 240 subscriptions.
When making a new post, I often can't remember right away which community it would be most relevant to. Sometimes it's pretty obvious, but other times I have to scroll through the list and find the one I'm looking for or one that might be a good fit.
Now, I know that there are specific communities like !community_community@slrpnk.net that is for this purpose as well, but I was wondering if it would be useful to have a simple automated solution sort of like how github searches for issues to see if your question (post) has already been asked.
I'd be curious to know other's thoughts on the matter and if you think something like this could be a helpful addition or not.

hotlink bug?
Jerboa doesn't populate the image hotlink until you actually click on the post. I backchecked this with Voyager as well, just to be sure.
Lemontron (positron unibody chassis)
This guy is doing amazing work, just wanted to share here. His videos are also quite humorous too.
sort comments button (visual bug)
Hey, I noticed a small visual bug where sort comments button doesn't update after choosing a different selection. The comments still sort just fine, it's just the button that doesn't update.
community not federating
I'm still learning the quirks of federation and the behaviors of communities hosted on different instances, so I apologize if this is something that's been asked repeatedly.
I made a post to a community I am subscribed to at lemmy.ca, from my home instance at slrpnk.net. Public posts on that community (as well as the post that I made) are not showing up from my home instance. My profile page on my home instance does not show any record of the post that I made.
I was only able to find existence of the post that I made by going to lemmy.ca, and then finding the community that I posted to from there.
Workbench designs
Do you have a favorite workbench? What kind of features does it have?
Just looking for some inspiration.
