Thanks! Have an awesome day my man
I loved Linux Voice back when it was still published. They had a series of articles on writing your own kernel in x86_64 ASM that I followed and ran on QEMU back when I was a philosophy student. It really cemented my interest in tech and now I do that for a living.
Edit: Linux Voice folded into Linux Format sometime around 10+ years ago
In my opinion you and the person you replied to probably agree on 80-90% of the same thing on this particular topic but you've come in swinging accusing them of being in cahoots with bigots.
Chill out dude
I'll play the game for a while but if they litter my homedir then they are first on the chopping block when I'm looking to uninstall things and free up space.
Sinners and Stranger Than Fiction so far.
Sinners was a bit of a mess but it was stylish and I thought there was an interesting moral ambiguity to the supernatural element that has kept me thinking about it for a few days.
Stranger Than Fiction is quite old now but a fun drama/comedy with Will Ferrel which seems like it must have influenced The Stanley Parable game.
This is ridiculous. Firearms officers in the UK volunteer for the additional training/responsibility of operating a firearm. There is no incentive for any of them to volunteer if saving your colleague from being crushed by a car driven by a career criminal results in criminal prosecution and internal disciplinary procedures.
I dislike having top-level directories in $HOME that aren't storing media or documents. Some linux ports of games are awful for littering your homedir or Documents. Just lazy devs. Put it all in ~/.local please folks!
I really liked Carney when he was governor of the BoE in the UK during the Brexit years. He seemed like one of the few adults in the room.
It really depends on the board how toxic it is.
People don't realise how similar to reddit it is where there are dodgy subreddits like /r/thedonald or the incel-coded streamer ones that you just learn to avoid when using it.
I haven't checked if it was still up but one of the oldest posts on 4chan - it had been up for 10+ years - was on the papercraft and origami board following one person's progress in building an extremely complicated origami clock that actually functioned as a clock.
I believe this might be what they refer to as a "shitpost"
Firefox is essential for its various forks even if you have gripes with it
Irish people ask me what part of Ireland I’m from. I must do an amazing Irish accent despite being Scottish and have never visited there. I blame the fact that central Edinburgh doesn’t have a strong Scottish accent and lots of Londoners/Americans study here.
They could resolve this with more legislation. The 2010/11 equalities act is ambiguous the way it is written so Labour need to pass more legislation to resolve it. "Use the disabled toilets" is not a satisfactory answer.
Clan never really meant anything even in Scotland. All that tartan shit was invented by Sir Walter Scott as tourist fodder.
I realise I didn't really answer your question directly but implicitly, like everyone else in this thread, I am going to be taking all the pills when I get older.
Y'all are some sick mofos. I'm a rookie over here with sometimes only one dicofenac daily for my rheumatoid arthritis condition. Early 30s.
At one point last year I had hourly eye-drops, with a separate set of drops to take every ~6 hours in December. That was unusual though due to uveitis.
Tax advantages, makes managing your estate easier if one of you dies, social status, etc.
I know people who were working on the replacement system with accenture but they ran out of money for it halfway through and it got abandoned. That was like 2 years ago.
Some of the 1970s comedies in the UK haven't aged too well in this regard.

He'll Milly Rock on ANY block. In fact he's been Milly Rocking for 4 (four!) days - somebody stop him!

It has been a good few months for GamePass
I've been playing through Avowed since it came out and loving it. Although admittedly I was already a big Pillars of Eternity fan.
Then South of Midnight has come out recently and blown me away. I had low expectations but it is pretty much a new Psychonauts game.
The puzzler Chants of Senaar has been very fun so far with a unique take on the puzzle genre in terms of learning a new symbol based language.
Finally Blue Prince comes out today and it's got 10/10 review across the board. I feel like I am getting good value from my sub at the moment.

BBC Radio Scotland Rugby Podcast - Six Nations: Beattie - 'Scotland need complete performance against France' - BBC Sounds
How many times have we heard about the elusive 80 minute performance? That said I think Scotland can give France a scare before Les Bleus ultimately triumph

Astérix chez les Bretons est un film d'animation franco-danois réalisé par Pino Van Lamsweerde, sorti en 1986.Cinquième adaptation de la bande dessinée...

Couldn't find a way to share at a specific timestamp but if you go to 57:30 then Asterix and his fellow Gauls discover rugby from Les Bretons. Great lots of great rugby related gags!
Also found it interesting as a british person to hear the brits speak French with their accent. That's less rugby related though.

AM2R (Unofficial Metroid 2 Remake)
This game is unbelievable for an indie dev to create for free. Production values are through the roof. It plays like Zero Mission on the GBA and arguably does a better job of remaking the classic than the official 3DS Samus Returns game.
I'm playing on PC but there is also an Android APK if you search for it.

The Swedish plant-based company has been in a long-running legal battle with Dairy UK, the trade body for Britain’s dairy industry

I'll probably stick to asking for oat milk instead of "porridge water" or whatever the new mandated name will be. To be honest I do think calling it "milk" lets them inflate the price when it is essentially porridge water.

Bundee Aki or Sione Tuipulotu? Jac Morgan or Tom Curry? The analysts at Opta have crunched the numbers to produce a Lions XV based on autumn performances.

Lib Dem leader challenges Kier Starmer to a game of FIFA and will dance on TikTok every day until he accepts
WTF is this shit Ed? I think I'm going to revoke my membership. Voted Labour last time anyway so my heart hasn't really been in it this year... At least I was able to vote against Layla Moran becoming leader a few years back.

A carve-out for the UK on the new levies would represent a major win for Sir Keir Starmer’s government

Officers were given stop and search powers to help prevent disorder during a Bonfire Night which saw missiles thrown at police.

Videos on WhatsApp showing neds trashing cars and setting off fireworks through letter boxes of random houses. There’s a police helicopter over Niddrie. This is basically a riot every year! Authorities need to clamp down on this somehow.

It comes after the magazine was bought by GB News backer Sir Paul Marshall earlier this month.

Why is Labour so puritanical?

Public health minister Andrew Gwynne is considering ‘tightening up the hours of operation’ for pubs

This is spectator so they are taking the most extreme right wing viewpoint on Labour's recent policies to improve the nation's health. I disagree with how they characterise it for the most part but they do seem to put their finger on the kind of authoritarian impulses inside the party. Definitely think the author misses the mark with their badly thought out/unsupported angle about it being patronising class politics.
I was too young to take in much when John Major was in power but remember New Labour with Blair/Brown very well. They were also keen to make similar kind of policies that were - for lack of a better phrase - nanny state-ish. I found it interesting thinking about that legacy.
Should also mention that both parties tend towards these types of policies. I suspect the civil service are keen on them and they test well in focus groups.
Article is paywalled so will post it in comments.

If Digital Underground were able to make more consistent albums then they'd be my favourite group ever. The best tracks are unreal but then the skits, etc. drag the whole thing down on repeated listens.

‘Crucial’ medical documents have not been disclosed, according to a complaint signed by former players including Steve Thompson and Mark Regan

This could have major repercussions for the game as we know it. The RFU has already reduced the amount of contact allowed in the grassroots of the game. Will the product we all love survive a legal tsunami if this ends in a court ruling?
I always wonder if you could get players to sign away their rights to sue but I'm pretty certain that would not be legally enforceable, alongside being totally exploitative.

Old but gold.

"Every summer, they fill up your beaches. They drink all your beer. They make a mess of your plazas," said the front page - which was reported as a hate crime.

I find The National frequently embarassing as a Scottish person. Enjoying seeing them squirm here.
