What the fuck are you talking about? Also, do you realize that on the boards where Qanon was a thing, three punctuation marks on either side denoted Jewish people? You're commenting like a racist.

  • For it. Its lack of use in a union contract was a factor in a court ruling some years back. That's when it went from pedantry to real-world consequence for me. Something was ruled similar to A and B rather than A or B.

  • Roath, who is in his late 30s, would offer a stark generational contrast with Lynch, who turns 70 next month and has held public office since 1995.

Get outta here old man. Let younger generations have a seat at the table. At this moment, I support Roath. He had me at voting rights.

  • Congress authorized the money in a bipartisan breakthrough around addressing gun violence after a shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, killed 19 children and two teachers.

Why would you let congress, the body that the constitution says should create laws, go and do something good for students when you can just run things as an autocrat and harm them anyway?

  • He said that I was indoctrinating young people to hate America and hate white people. The Republican state representative saw me as an example of why public schools should be defunded. He had earlier called teachers “idiots” for their advocacy around Covid-19 protections. And speaking of the conspiracy to kidnap Michigan’s Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, he said, “I think it’s fine for politicians to feel pain, or be threatened with violence, whatever.” (I will leave him unnamed out of a desire to not boost his profile or draw him attention, since his actions have been well-documented in the press.)

What lovely people on that side.

Someone asked about the news, out of Punchbowl, that Amazon would soon add a line item at checkout that detailed the “import costs” of purchased goods. If Amazon did this it would join other retailers like Temu that are letting customers know why the cost of buying products from it has more than doubled in the past few weeks.

    […]

This short saga shows how the Trump administration plans to deal with the chaos that it has created: By attempting to bully companies into denying the reality that his tariffs are making it more expensive (or potentially impossible) to buy millions of different products. The strategy here—to the extent there is one at all—is to pressure companies into eating tariff costs, pretend that none of this is happening, or to add opacity into the process by having prices shoot up without retailers breaking out what portion of them is from Trump’s tariffs.

Tariffs? What tariffs? Nothing to see here. Move along.

He seems to feel that his "hardcore conservatism" is relevant to a discussion about assault and cries like a baby talking about watching the news "and knowing this country is fucked."

See the limited ability to reason about issues on full drunken display. He's either a tough guy or a whining child, as most / all conservatives tend to be. Without the security of his macho bravado, everything crumbles to pieces.

Years ago, I encountered a fascinating concept in a book by the Dalai Lama: every seven years, human beings transform into entirely new versions of themselves. This idea stems from the biological principle that our bodies replace virtually all their cells over a seven-year cycle. The person you are ...

I recently spoke with a friend who was still dwelling on something that happened thirty years ago. “Why do you care?” I asked him. “That was four versions of you ago. That person doesn’t exist anymore. Move on.”

I find this way of thinking inspiring. I'm definitely going to share it with friends and loved ones.

The FOIA request was for records related to the FBI’s purchase of multiple hacking tools for $250,000 from anti-child abuse charity The Innocent Lives Foundation. This purchase was initially included in a public U.S. government database that lists what agencies are buying. After I reported on that purchase, the listing was removed from the database.

There will be a lot of this sort of shenanigans over the next four years.

The claim that they were “sipping margaritas” was revealed to be completely staged nonsense, as apparently Bukele aids showed up with the props solely for the misleading photoshoot:

Mr. Bukele, in a social media post, even crowed that “Kilmar Abrego Garcia, miraculously risen from the ‘death camps’ & ‘torture,’” was “now sipping margaritas with Sen. Van Hollen in the tropical paradise of El Salvador!” But according to a person familiar with the situation, a Bukele aide placed the two glasses with cherries and salted rims on the table in front of Mr. Van Hollen and Mr. Abrego Garcia in the middle of their meeting in an attempt to stage the photo.

The Right are so comfortable lying that it’d be comical if it wasn’t so chilling.

While the original ZimaBoard shipped with Intel Apollo Lake processors that were already more than four years old at the time that the board launched, the ZimaBoard 2 is powered by a current-gen Intel Twin Lake processor that should bring a significant boost in CPU and graphics performance. The company says users can expect a 200 percent performance boost, even though the new model runs cooler and quieter and uses less power while idle.

I thought a lot about buying the first version of this. Glad I waited. Very cool. Homelabbers: have some gear lust to start your weekend. Happy Friday!

That was what I took away from Elon Musk’s 38-minute interview on Fox News last night, which largely focused on the billionaire’s efforts to eliminate government programs and fire thousands of federal workers. Those efforts have spurred thousands of people to protest at Tesla locations across the US. Waving signs and chanting slogans, the so-called Tesla Takedown protesters have become a symbol of opposition to Musk as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Can you imagine 38 minutes of this dumbass talking? Pass me a gun so I can take myself out.
