  • I usually use magic earth and i really like it. I've been trying organic maps because it was in the fdroid store but i'm not really a fan of the user interface. It's only been a few days and i think i need to mess with it more to get used to it, but magic earth was great at finding places and navigating and the user interface was pretty intuitive.

  • Yeah that's definitely my bad, it looks like the trackers are actually from web sites that are loaded in the browser internal to the app. I edited my original comment so people know. Thanks for not adding trackers by the way! The app is really nice and easy to use.

  • EDIT: The dev replied below and said there aren't any trackers in the app. It looks like the trackers are actually from web sites that are loaded in the browser internal to the app. I changed the setting to load web pages in an external browser and the tracking notifications from the Connect app went away, so it looks like my original comment below is incorrect and Connect doesn't have any trackers. The trackers I was picking up were from web sites with trackers being loaded in Connect. It looks like the app is fine and you should definitely use it. It's super easy to use and looks good.

The duck duck go app tracker firewall thing their browser comes with stops trackers coming from Connect. It's a bummer cuz I like the app but I've been using a web browser more and more to access lemmy.

  • In America, influence means money. If you can't donate to a politician, you don't have influence. That's just how America works. You can't build influence without wealth. As someome who has been involved with them, protests and marches don't really cause a stir here any more, people just don't care and it doesn't really influence anything. You can get influence through violence, but people aren't ready for that conversation and the right already has a head start on that anyway.

  • I got a Qudi q1 pro and I've been really happy with it. I didn't have to do any tuning or anything, just ran the the built-in bed leveling and input shaping and it ran great out of the box. I've had to do very minimal tuning to get amazing quality prints. I'm coming from an OG ender 3 though so my bar was pretty low.

  • I've been very happy with my Qidi printer. I havr a q1 pro but it's not compatible with their multi material system, although one of their other models is. It does have a chamber heater if you are interested in printing more exotic filaments. I haven't gotten into it quite yet but apparently it prints large ABS and nylon prints very easily.

  • I have a fiskars branded one and it's a great axe. The balance is much better than a wood handled one, since the center of gravity is closer to the head it feels like the head maintains more momentum as you swing and more of your swing energy is transferred into the wood. It's hard to describe but I much prefer this style, it just feels more efficient. Plus mine has held an edge really, really well and hasn't rusted much at all (and I'm rough on it) but that depends on the steel they use more than the handle design.
