  • TIL. Yeah that's just lazy design then

  • If dogs cloned like plants, the world would be overrun with huskies and Samoyeds

  • I get the complaint, but if you don't accept any cookies then they can't remember that you refuse to accept cookies. It's a catch-22

  • Find the fake ending 30 mins before the end and watch from there. The rest you can skip without feeling guilty.

  • For my problem, pulling one stick resolved 95% of the stability issues even though I knew the ram was good

  • I'll check it later tonight and let you know.

  • I had a ryzen 5900x and Asus mobo that I never managed to get 100% stable. I ended up limping along for a couple years with regular crashes until i got a new box, then I stuck it in a corner and forgot about it.

I recently came across it again and figured I should sell it, so I started googling and found this post with exactly my same issues - https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/amd-500-400-series/crosshair-viii-impact-ram-crash-in-windows/td-p/909245

After setting the soc voltages as per that thread, it's perfectly stable. So fucking frustrating, it soured me on ever buying an amd based system again and I went back to intel after that.

Anyways tldr, you might want to play with the same settings mentioned in that thread since the problem sounds similar. Trying to use the xmp profiles got me nowhere good. It seems to just be picky compatibility rather than an actual hardware fault. I rma'ed both the mobo and CPU trying to resolve this and got nowhere. (The ram passed tests just fine in other systems)

  • One thing to point out as well is the admin runs an AI Advertising company, and their lemmy also has ads all over it - https://lemmy.org/u/Mazdak

I feel trying to monetize lemmy is against the whole idea of it.

  • As someone who doesn't like horror usually, it's fantastic. Super excited for the new season

  • Yeah, your purgatory assumption is wrong. It might be the theme but the writers have said they don't want that.

  • No it's a subdomain off piefed.social and is linked to above, it's rimu's i assume

  • Valid.

  • Amazon spent $35m on it, I'm sure they can spend a little bit of that on buying some positive reviews

  • Imagine a server is a store with staff that handle customer requests in a first in / first out kind of order. Now imagine you've got 20 years worth of black Friday traffic trying to get to it.

The server might be able to handle the requests that get to it, but the sheer volume of traffic makes it impossible to get in or out effectively.

  • Block the communities, or use piefed since it has many more filtering options.

  • I don't think anything about politics can disappoint me at this point 😂 😭
