  • This is what happens when science is done by governments and companies dedicated to the end result.

ITER and so many other projects are littered with graft and hampered by corruption and uninterested governments.

If China can build a reactor with a Q of 10, it’s game over. The west is already getting lapped on solar and EV’s.

We’re gonna be a backwater with a bunch of bombs. Buckle up y’all.

  • This is an excellent read.

I remember hearing about the "free Tibet" movement in the 80s and 90s. I thought it sounded like justice.

I was also taken in by Scorcese's Kundun and the peaceful sounding Dalai Lama.

Reading about accounts like this drastically changed my attitude. This is not the first one I've read about how Tibet used to be, but this is definitely a strong, personal account.

  • There’s also a “I’m not going to get some bullshit masquerading as the movie I was looking for.” thing in place.

I belong to a couple private trackers. I use them nearly exclusively and have never once downloaded a bullshit file/virus/whatever. It’s happened a couple times on public ones.

I know who the good uploaders are and know that seeding on the private isn’t going to get me flagged to my ISP, which happened twice before going off public.

I guess what I’m wondering is: why wouldn’t you use one if you can find what you’re looking for?
