  • Modern geothermal heat pump systems are almost always closed loop, you just run a bunch of loops of tubing in a big trench that's deep enough to not freeze over the winter, or if you're space constrained you use a deep borehole or 2 with a tube running down and back up again.

  • If queer people were normal and commonly occurring, they wouldn't have been oppressed for so long. Trans folk and enbies never clear above 1% in any government that allows such a response in their census.

  • Voting is not a sign of support for everything the candidate does. It's a choice for who you want to be in the position, and none of the above is not a possible outcome.

Choosing to not vote means you're choosing whoever the majority of voters pick

  • American citizens haven't been getting detained at the border like people from outside the states and I doubt they ever will be. Secret police can just scoop you up on the streets if they really want to go after you

  • Friendly reminder that hydrogen as a propulsive fuel will always be hot garbage. And that's not even considering the fact that displacing methane reformers in fertilizer production is a much better use for green H2 from an emissions standpoint

  • I think you need to go outside and explore this country more, if you think most people here are shitty. Sure our reputation is a bit of an exaggeration, but on the whole I still know that this country is majority good and kind people

Plaza Next to the University of Waterloo

This has got to be the widest desire path I've ever seen, but I'm excited to know if anyone has seen bigger. To my knowledge it's been here for at least 15 years.

    Fediverse Canvas Flag Location?

    Lemmings of Canada,

I just found out about the fediverse canvas event.

I have to assume that a Canadian flag with a horribly mangled maple leaf will show up somewhere, but I'm not sure if anyone has decided on a spot yet. There's a large red box growing on the right side of the canvas that we could try to take over but that might be a little ambitious.

Just realized that red box is for us! Let's go Canada, I believe in our ability to draw a maple leaf.
