  • Here's the thing that a lot of long-term linux users don't seem to understand: If it involves typing out a command in a terminal, or editing a configuration text file, 99% of casual users are already out. It doesn't matter if they just copy-paste a command or have change a single number in a text file, they literally don't even want to try, they consider that "too complicated".

  • According to the customs and border protection website, there is a max limit of $200 that is free from duty and tax if you've spent at least 48 hours there, and it has to be for personal/household use. There are amount limits on alcohol and tobacco.

But if it's something like a single phone, you pay in cash and open it there and dispose of the packing material. You could get away with violating those restrictions, but at your own risk.

Side-note: The limit is $800 if you go to the Caribbean, and up to $1600 for places like US Virgin Islands

  • Have you not heard the story of Ælfwine?

He was initially the fictional narrator/author of Tolkien's works, later just referenced as a character. Born in the late 800s(by our reckoning) England, and he learned of the story when he was the first human who sailed to Valinor in thousands of years. He is a distant descendant of Elves which probably helped, but at that point most humans probably are related to them.

It was left out of The Silmarillion, but is mentioned in some other works released by Christopher.

  • Benefit of data managers: Tags for easier searching and grouping, grouping that is folder agnostic, easily choosing a thumbnail, and in text focused ones you can usually search the content of the files from one location and easily look through the results for the correct one, etc.

  • I believe there is some in Allegiance, Tapestry, The Inner Light, A Matter of Honor and All Good Things. Although it tends to be scenes that either start with him quickly waking up, or ending with him falling asleep.

  • I honestly don't think many power users like discord, specially not what it has become. They are stuck in that ecosystem and the alternatives aren't established enough to get average people to try it out/swap over.

  • I can only conclude he doesn’t know many farmers

As someone who grew up in the countryside, I can very much confirm that the guy clearly does not know farmers, and have not been to any that aren't over-the-top modernized and/or given weeks of notice of his arrival.

And it should be noted that the symptoms have been vaguely descibred for around three thousand years, and more accurately for four hundred years. If you combine that information with the fact that he clearly doesn't understand how farms work, I'm going to assume that he's fearmongering.

  • Even if he did, he wouldn't change. American catholics generally don't like the pope or the vatican. There was even an Italian archbishop in the US who turned full maga and ended up being excommunicated.
