  • Crazy that the Sands of Time remake was supposed to come out early 2021... Remakes are supposed to be quick projects for easy money, how could Ubisoft mess it up that much? Sands of Time isn't even a long game!

    One was a cancelled mobile game but now I'm curious what the other 4 were. I guess we'll never find out as they funnel all that money to their successful live-service stuff.

    They haven't fixed clipping into the ceiling to teleport out of caves though :)

  • The Matrix Resurrections. I already had a feeling it would suck but it managed to be worse than I could ever imagine, they weren't even trying to hide how much of a cashgrab it is.

  • Absolutely, Elden Ring has a lot of fantastic overhaul mod. Everyone has to try Convergence at some point.

  • I'm running it on CachyOS and while it usually runs super well I'm sometimes getting random freezes for 1-2 seconds. Have you encountered anything like that or is that a me thing?

  • It's basically Minecraft but with a bigger focus on RPG elements, exploration, and combat. It's a safe bet that if you like MC you'll enjoy this.

  • Definitely worth waiting for reviews, but I'm sure they'll come out soon.

    FWIW all mtx will be cosmetics only, with the good news that there's no restrictions on mods changing how you look. Their EULA also disallows any pay-to-win mtx in servers similar to Minecraft.

    The lead dev backtracked on paid mods (at least for now), saying he's looking into having quick access to donating instead. I wouldn't say it's anything near Roblox territory.

    He actually said that demanding X remove AI features is gatekeeping since competitors get to keep them, which is still a dumb take but very very far from "Tim Sweeny loves child porn"...

  • This movie bothers me a lot because it could have been really great, the visuals and soundtrack are excellent. When everyone shuts up, there are glimmers of a good movie in there.

    But man, the characters all suck and the writing is abysmal. Leto sucks but I'd argue Greta Lee (the main character) was even worse in acting. She was so obnoxious and flat. Tron Legacy didn't have the best acting but it at least got the tone of the movie right, whereas here it felt like a goofy kids movie.

    Clearly Disney is trying to set up a franchise with this thing. I doubt it will.

    The movie bombed so you don't have to worry about a franchise. I doubt they'll ever make another TRON movie after this.

  • So many games have like ~10-15 seconds of unskippable logos whenever you open the game and it pisses me off every single time. I don't understand why they still do this.

  • Valve spent 2025 ripping apart Deadlock and putting it back together, and it delivered better live service than most live service games

  • Ehh, if you haven't gotten into it this far then I'd suggest waiting until release. Deadlock is still incomplete and has such radical balance changes each update that it's hard to tell what's going on. Most of the people playing right now have been playing since early access started, so you'll have a hard time finding players that are bad at it for now.

  • Do you have youtube premium by any chance? There's an "enhanced bitrate" option that's only for premium users. On base 1080p, it still looks like that screenshot I posted.
