Yeah, the first thing I change on a new laptop is the broadshit WiFi chip. Intel is the our lord and savior.
English please, ENGLISH!!! WE ONLY SPEAK ENGLISH HERE!!!!!
😂. It's not wrong, though. You HAVE to know something, damit.
Wow, it took the original culture to get pissed to stop them. 😂
You're absolutely right about his video. I really like them and watch all of them, but the clicks/views gluttony adds a bad taste to them.
Assassin's creed shadow support is official on the steam deck? (Not holding my breath still)

Man, this is great.... if/when it happens. I won't trust them until I see it. And some say that valve just rated it as "unplayable". Will see.
I like the news, but I very much dislike the thumbnail. It's very misleading and click baity. It makes it sound like Nate is making something about KDE for-profit.
It's so unfortunate how gnome is designed the way it is where extensions break and need a lot of work with new versions. I really hope that the devs would take a different approach than this one day. This dev is probably fed up with it and needs a break.
Can you tell I don't know shit about stuff like that? 😂
I need to own the copy right for my Nicoled™ term.
Like in an app? On the site of the instance? Where is that option located?
Lmao. She'll come back. She's a good babe
Too late. We having a baby next week
Your comment is literally the only comment I can see on this post. Looks like my instant is just stingy or something. I'm gonna need to look for a new instant. I've been replying to folks from the notification panel and it sucks
No, but fun is allowed, isn't it?
Lucky
Yup. Someone is trolling the whole feeiverse it looks like.
Shhhh
I've finally been Nicoled
It's with great honor, I inform you all that I've finally been Nicoled. I thought I was left out for a minute there
Has this sub (or whatever it's called on Lemmy) been hacked?
All I see is crypto bullshit scam posts

Hi all, I have already asked this question on the KDE forum and didn't get many responses really, so I'm coming here for help. Any idea how to fix the caps lock key and make it work faster instead of THis? Thank you
Fix for the capslock slow response
This is an issue that I know for a fact that is not specific to plasma, but I came here to ask for help since I run Plasma and I'm hoping that there is something I can change on the DE to fix it. Caps-lock is very slow and causes THis ISsue, and it is driving me crazy. I'm the person who can never learn how to use the shift to capitalize my letters and use caps-lock religiously. I have been using this fix on xorg, but it doesn't work on wayland, and I'm now back to square one. Any kind soul here knows how I can fix this issue? Thank you
Should I update the qt5 webengine package?
I got an update today for qt5 webengine and I was wondering if I should update it or just remove it since we are on qt6/plasma 6?
How do I reset plasma 6 to defaults?
I have recently upgraded to Plasma 6. It's has been riddled with issues. One major issue is that when I let the PC sit for a while, the screen turns off (as it should), then the pc just either freezes indefinitely, or wakes up, but nothing is responsive. I can't even enter my password to log in. For now, I have disabled auto suspend and turn off screen and all that. I suspend it manually when I am done working. I really don't want to reinstall, as I have had this set up for over a year and I will need to do a ton of work to get it back working. I do have root and home partitions separated, and I can reinstall, but if I absolutely had to. Is there anything I can do to remove all of plasma 5 leftover things without breaking things? Is there such thing as resetting plasma to its defaults without reinstalling? PS. I have submitted several bug reports and I will get back at it when I have time

Fix SDDM hidpi scaling on plasma 6
Hello all,
I have created a post on reddit to fix the issue where SDDM doesn't scale well on plasma 6, and wanted to share it here in case anyone is having the same issue
I have two monitors that are 4k and SDDM wasn't scaling correctly on either of them. It was too small and was very annoying. I tried many ways to fix it, but nothing helped. Applying plasma settings to SDDM from the settings didn't help either. Some kind soul recommended an Arch wiki piece that helped me fix it. I want to share with everyone just in case. And here is the screenshot on what to do in case the wiki is not clear enough. Navigate to /etc/sddm.conf.d and create a new file and call it hidpi.conf (in case you don't have it), then add the following lines to it and save:
undefined
[Wayland] EnableHiDPI=true [X11] EnableHiDPI=true [General] GreeterEnvironment=QT_
SDDM is not complying with hidpi
Posted about it on reddit, and I'm bringing it here. Anyone has this issue?
Is it possible to disable the auto lock when entering password wrong on lock screen
There is this useless feature where the lock screen tells you that the account is locked for 10 minutes because of three failed attempts to log in, but then I can just bypass it by forcing my computer off then powering it back on. Then what's the point of having it? I just got a new mechanical keyboard and I don't know if it has an issue or something, but it happened twice today without me doing anything while the pc is asleep, and it is annoying AF having to force shut down my pc by holding down the power button. This might also cause data loss for me. Is there a way to disable this thing?
Thanks
Has anyone been able to get Honkai star rail running
EDIT: so I was able to get it to work with the "unnamed launcher", but now I'm wondering if I should log in using my current credentials or just create a new account for this game with a new email just in case they ban me?
Like the title says. I've been playing Genshin no problem through Heroic, but HSR just doesn't launch. Tried it with steam by adding a non-steam game and changing some settings. Tried through heroic. Best so far is the music of the game, but just a black screen then crashes on Lutris through honkers launcher. Are there any arguments/launch options I'll need to add to steam or Lutris? I really want to play this game. Thank you.
Wayland: Font is blurry with fractional scaling
This is now the only thing standing between me and using Wayland as my daily driver. I have an all AMD PC running on two 27" 4k monitors. Setting them up to 200% is good, but too big. Setting them to 175% causes the font to be blurry. Not too blurry, but I can tell and it's not comfortable to look at for too long. Also, other UI elements are blurry, too regardless of the scaling. Although those elements aren't defaults, but still blurry and look out of place. For example, the oxygen window decoration buttons are very blurry. Hovering over those buttons shows a big blurry and empty box.
Anywho, I'm pretty sure the whole KDE team is aware of this, but my question is, is this being addressed in plasma 6? This is literally the only thing holding me back from Wayland. I love how snappy it is. Things are way quicker than x11. I want to use it. Thank you
Epiphany 45 still doesn't have extensions support
Hi all, I just installed Ubuntu 23.10 and it comes with gnome 45. Installed gnome web 45 and I was thinking that I can install ublock origin, but the option is not there. I thought this was there since gnome 43? Gnome isn't my daily driver, so I don't know much about its latest updates. So, is there a way I can add extensions to the browser? Or is it hidden somewhere? I remember it was on the beta 43 and 44, but this is 45, so shouldn't it already be there? Thanks
Screen goes black periodically when playing video games
Hi all, Not sure if this is a distro specific, DE specific, a monitor brand specific or just linux/AMD in general. So, I have an RX580 GPU. It is an older one, but does just for what I do on my PC (emulation). Everything works fine until I start one of the emulators and play a game. I have two 27" 4k monitors, a dell and a sceptre. Once the game starts, the sceptre monitor starts going black every couple of seconds, then comes back up. This continues until I stop the game. Both monitors are connected through DP to the GPU. Not sure what to do, to be honest. All drivers are there when I checked (as far as I know). This happens on both wayland and xorg. Any input is greatly appreciated! If anyone needs more info, please let me know. Thank you

How to change launch option on the steam app?
Hi all, I have a 4k monitor and the steam app is very tiny. I have found out that I can fix it by running the app in the terminal with steam -forcedesktopscaling 2, but it is getting tiring launching it through the terminal. Is there any way I can change something in the app itself and make it launch with that command? KDE Plasma on endeavour OS is what I'm running Tried going into the .desktop file to add the command somewhere in the "exec", but failed. Could someone please help? Thank you
How to get the best out of RadeonGPUs
Hi all, I have just built my first PC ever. And having dealt with nvidia the last 5 years on Linux and experiencing the pain first hand, I went all AMD. For now, I only have the AMD Ryzen 7 5700G and this things is a beast (I'm saving up for an AMD GPU). The only thing I do is emulate some old games. I'm still getting some hiccups here and there and wanted to make sure I'm getting the best out of it. What drivers do I need to look for to get the best out of their Radeon GPU? I already have amd ucode and mesa installed out of the box. I've found a driver called "lib32-vulkan-radeon" in the arch repos. Do I need to install that one? If anyone is kind enough to list the packages that I need to look for and download I'd very much appreciate it. Thank you
export PLASMA_USE_QT_SCALING=1 no longer works
I'm trying to get the scaling right on my 4k monitors, but icons look wonky, and the whole thing doesn't look right. I used to just throw export PLASMA_USE_QT_SCALING=1
in /etc/environment
or ~/profile
, log out and log back in, and I'm good, but now this doesn't do anything. I can't be on wayland 100% since not everything works still. Any idea why this is?
