Autocorrect hates me, I am sorry.

  • Just use ed.

    Ctrl+D. Easy.

  • This guy is great

  • Partially because URLs never die, and if you’ve got your project connected to a bunch of stuff it’s a huge pain to migrate.

I’ve got a ton of old open source projects and if people start bothering me over them I’ll just cancel contributions.

Also I don’t think Codeberg/forgejo runners are compatible with GH Actions, which is another barrier

  • I had some really good friends in high school who were home schooled for k-10, then they did high school like normal.

They were a little eccentric but had a really good foundation. They were in a home school group thing, so they also socialized and different parents would teach different subjects.

So it can be done outside the religious weirdo parents situation.

  • Iran has been divided into two BMOAs (ballistic-missiles operation areas) with Israel responsible for bombing Tehran and West/Central Iran, while the US deals with the coast and south eastern Iran.

Tehran is squarely in Israel’s target zone via Syrian airspace.

Also the lack of Iranian air defences mean almost all the weapons used are precision bombs via planes, but the US is testing out their own knock-off drones.

  • That’s crazy, wow

  • How is windscribe?

I also use sync.com, but there’s also eazyBackup if you want s3 compatible storage.

  • Yes.

I'd feel a lot less annoyed at my code being used to train the AI (without my consent) if the AI's benefits weren't funnelled into private pockets.

I'd feel a lot less annoyed at AI if it wasn't constantly use to replace jobs and then fail at it. Actually, AI isn't replacing jobs, it's being used as an excuse to do layoffs while pretending your company is being innovative, so as not to scare off investors.

Without a profit motive there wouldn't be ChatGPT Health, which is just faking medical skills while being wrong as often as a coin toss, in exchange for money. If I did that I'd be sued for negligence and/or fraud.

  • I wish we would send this guy home.

The US can choose their ambassadors, and we can choose to decline them.

  • Who exactly is doing the "Mutually Assured" part for Iran?

If the US deploys a nuke in Iran:

    • as long as it's not an ICBM over adversaries, it won't trigger immediate response systems. Tactical nuke would probably be the choice.
    • Russia won't nuke the US back for this. China won't nuke the US back for this. Iran doesn't have nukes, though could do a dirty bomb or something -- but that's not consistent with MAD. Pakistan is cozying up to the US for their war in Afghanistan, and India isn't highly aligned. There's no way the EU would nuke the US in retaliation, they'd only deploy them defensively.
    • As much as I would want, I can't see Canada or Europe severing all ties with the US or going to war over it, which would be the only acceptable responses.

I do not want the US to do this, they absolutely shouldn't, but I fear they could do it and it would stir up only a tepid response from protesters and not governments.

  • I don't know, Hegseth just came out and said they definitely do today. It was probably totally unrelated to this.

    Would the Trump administration lie?

  • In the hands of experts these are definitely useful. I’ve always felt that.

Ai should be used to augment humans, not replace them.

Unfortunately we have idiots making decisions looking at the sycophant BS machine without knowing what the job actually does

  • This is a scam

I can see the posts, but if this were real it wouldn’t be a comment, it would be a message from the mods.

Which wins son be suspicious as fuck.

  • I assumed this would happen or they would have taken less than nearly a week to do it.

If they cared they’d have rushed this vote on Saturday or Sunday. They don’t. They never have, never will.

  • I have little faith the international community would sufficiently sanction and punish this.

  • Eventually it just stops writing successfully and needs to be resynced, but also it can get corrupted and you have to delete everything to continue writing.

It has been unreliable for a long time.

  • Not what I said.

It’s like littering. You’re responsible for your actions.

  • The betting market on war is just an auction for bombing things.

And it sounds be treated as such.
